The gimmick might not change because he was not killed by being burnt in a casket or buried alive…. he was just banished and is being brought back. The current gimmick will perhaps remain until he retires because it is a culmination of all his previous personas and gives a glimpse of everything that we have seen of the Undertaker.

I too don’t like this picture very much – ancienthordes, I second your thought on what it looked like on first glance. They could have made at least a better seat for him like he had during the ministry days just for the sake of taking a better picture . I’ll be happy if Umaga is in a match at Summerslam because that would mean no interference from him at Hell In A Cell.

Because the WWE want to preserve his character. All his pictures on WWE.com are perhaps edited using Photoshop or something and the tatoo is removed. Looking at the pictures you can make out that there has been some technical editing on it because he hasn’t gotten the tatoo completely removed in reality.

He still actually has the tattoo. The wwe has been removing it from photos.

I wouldn’t change my thoughts or make predictions based on the magazine cover. Remember the Night of Champions poster? Anyone could’ve predicted, based on that poster, that Undertaker would remain champion after One Night Stand, but that wasn’t the case.

I am definitely expecting to see some upgrades on the Undertaker’s persona. Slight but necessary upgrades, like a more aggressive personality.

I agree. I think that would be perfect. 20-0 at wrestlemania would be a great note to end the career on, but it’d have to be the best match ever, and then he walks out never to be seen again. for god sake will some of you stop discussing about his retirement for next 7 or 10 years.then after we can discuss about it.

The last 2 times he took off were for the severely torn biceps last year and the cyst this year. He’s fine now. As for him leaning down, its harder to carry a heavier bodyweight as you get older. That 330 he carried in his chubby days back in 2000 would be murder on that knee now. I like the fact his conditioning and physique has improved with age. It puts to rest the thought the older you get the fatter you get. Now i have hope. C ya.

For sure, me too. In fact even if he retires from regular weekly wrestling on Smackdown, he can always come back once or twice at a Wrestlemania to improve his streak like Hulk Hogan came back in 2005 for a Summerslam match with Shawn Michaels.

Retirement wasn’t the topic, it was gimmick and persona which has been overdiscussed by now I guess. I’m not writing any more on it.

Nobody wants him to ever retire but he should definitely not go as long as Flair – he should not be there when he is ‘not’ on top of his game. Every jack in the roster like Kennedy and Orton wanted to end Flair’s career by defeating him at Wrestlemania. Taker should not reach such a stage. Whenever Taker stops, he should still do it on a winning note. I would like to see him at every Wrestlemania though, if the WWE can somehow create storylines during Mania to somehow bring him back for a short while even after he retires. Anyway I hope that is a few years away.

I think we’ll see him in physically the best condition he’s been in a while. It’s hard to train to maintain condition with a bad wheel. I think with the picture we’re seeing that with the time off he’s been working.

Ha ha ha ha…. A tombstone to Edge on the steel steps (like Batista had got) would be great to see.

However, I think Edge will not be able to kick out of the first tombstone itself ;-) but maybe Taker will deliberately give him 2, the way he had deliberately given 3 to the false Undertaker at Summerslam 1994 though the Faker had not got up after the 1st one itself.

I got it today. It does not feature an article on him. Instead it lists some surprising returns in WWF/E History. But it does have drink that you can mix up that deals with him.

umaga has nothing to do with what the undertaker is going to do to edge in hell in a cell and if he and umaga were to have a fued it would start better then interfering in the match he dont strike me of someone to do that

Kyle – whatever keeps Taker on the top of the fan’s list is acceptable ;-) I just don’t want days like the ministry where he turned heel and the fans started cheering for Stone Cold/ Rock instead of Taker. If they cheer for him as a heel now (provided he does turn heel), that’s fine but then they won’t be able to create good storylines with it :-) however, my guess is that with so many heels on Smackdown like Edge, Vladimir Kozlov, Umaga, etc – you don’t need the greatest guy Taker to turn heel. Perhaps he and HHH will continue to remain the top faces. Anyway Taker is more of a tweener than a heel.

By the way did you guys notice what Kane is carrying in his sack? I think its his old mask (remember he had snatched it from the impostor-Kane, which was actually Festus).

Its probably the mask. I had a real good view at the youngstown house show last week. We were ten feet from the ring. As for freshening the persona, i think, with the picture, he might have a more aggressive personality now. His clothes might not change but his mannerisms can. We’ll all just have to see for ourselves come summerslam. To me a picture is worth a thousand words. This one is speaking volumes now.

That is a great cover. And I know that Summerslam is going to be great revenge for the LOD. I have a feeling something big is going to happen after watching Smackdown seeing Mick Foley and Edge talking about the 98 HIAC. Sorry to go off topic. But what is with Chris Jericho’s new attire. He looks awful in it. I really hope he was wearing trunks as a one time thing, or atleast just for a little while. His character is ment to be serious now, but I can’t take him seriously until he switches back to long tights. The trunks make him look like JBL, and that’s not good. He looks in bad shape in the new attire, like overweight. I won’t watch him again until he switches back to long tights!

I hope so – with the MASK :-) it would be a good renuion of some of the folks of the first 2 Hell In A Cell matches – Undertaker as wrestler, Foley (in his Mankind attire) as referee and Kane interrupting with the mask but this time to help Taker.

Edge will have some trick up his sleeve since he knows in advance that he has this match with Taker inside the cell – so he has sufficient notice to prepare.

My guess is that there will be interferences but then in the end Taker will prevail victorious. Nevertheless, I hope Taker gives him a good beating like he did in the TLC match.

I don’t know :-) they are trying to make a heel out of him because he didn’t work very well as a face after he returned, once he had a rivalry with Shawn. Today I bought the magazine a Undertaker is so so so cool.I like the poster.There’s a chance that I will stick it on the wall of my room.I looked carefully on the poster and the chair looks more like a chair to torched people.It looks like the chair in the movie Sweeney Todd but different.
I’m so so happy that the Undertaker will finally come back.I’m an Undertaker fan since I was about 8-9 years old.I can wait for summerslam he will beat Edge big big big TIME!!!
One little thing I bought the Ric Flair dvd and I watch the Ric Flair Farewell tribute and they show what Undertaker did is the coolest tribute ever and everytime I watch it I have big chills and tears in my eyes.
