re: The Official Wrestling Trivia Thread

That was a pretty hard question so I'll ask another one:

Why did Shawn Michaels forfeit the WWE Title(the real reason)?

Staged as a serious knee injury, in real life it is rumoured that Michaels was unwilling to job to Bret "Hit Man" Hart in their planned match for WrestleMania 13. Thus, the real reason Shawn "lost his smile" was because he'd rather forfeit the WWE Championship than lose the title to Bret at WrestleMania.

By the way, who was the woman who's death was announced by JR at the end of In Your House 15?

Correct Luke, HBK refused to let Bret win the title at Wrestlemania. Stripping him of the title was a punishment.

Anyway, at the end of In Your House:A Cold Day In Hell, the woman's name was Rose Anderson. It was not JR's mother.

just a question who was Rose ANderson? I've never heard of her in the wrestling sense. So is this planned like Katie Vick or was she real?

I think it was a relative of one of the employees. I'm not 100% sure.

It wasn't like a relative of Arn or Ole was it? I'm just going by the name Anderson, i don't honestly know if even THOSE two are related!

Anyway, on to Luke's question

Question:

Which two tag teams were once involved in a "Scaffold Match" in the NWA in 1987?

I want the name of both tag teams and all four members' names. :smt054

The Rock-n-Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) and Midnight Express (Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton).

I think it's the Road Warriors, Animal & Hawk vs (not sure on the tag-team name) Minnesota Wrecking Crew, Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson.

There were several Scaffold Matches in the NWA back in that era so that may well have been one of them MinistryTaker. However, the one I was looking for was the one that took place at NWA StarrCade 1987 between The Rock-n-Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) and The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane). So, Dan got it right, well done! Over to you to ask the next question Daniel....

By the way, silly question, but I don't suppose anyone's been tallying for the scoreboard have they?

I don't know the answer to that one, but it's still my turn, right? :smt003 I didn't actually think we were keeping score.

Which wrestler came up with the idea, and in fact suggested it to WWE managament while working there, for a storyline involving the seven deadly sins. The storyline never made it to WWE TV.

Haha, oh the hilarity! Jee, what a question! Hmm.... I think it may have been Raven.

As for keeping score, I don't know if we are or not either. If we haven't been then it doesn't make sense to start doing so now. I think I may be getting a bit confused with the "Guess Who?" thread over in General Chat, though I'm not sure why it's in General Chat, it should really be on the Professional Wrestling board come to think of it. I think a couple of people there have been tallying the scores, not me though. Nevermind, forget I mentioned it, LOL.

Woohoo! I got it right! I was really unsure about that one so what a stroke of luck.

Not sure if what I was saying "Haha, oh the hilarity!" to got misinterpreted or not. It was with reference to you saying "I don't know the answer to that one, but it's still my turn, right? :smt003" and not the trivia question that you set, just in case that was unclear. The question you set was actually pretty difficult, I just remembered reading about Raven's storyline ideas somewhere before and that sounded like one of them.

Damn it, this is quite fun until you realise that you actually have to think of another question! :smt012

OK, this should be a real easy one, the question is three-fold. Aim to give a correct answer to all three parts of the question and be as detailed as possible....

What allowed "Macho Man" Randy Savage to adopt the moniker "Macho King"? Who took the place as his Queen and who did she replace as his valet?

I screwed you MT? I did not! If there was another tag team Scaffold Match in the NWA in 1987 then sincere apologies dude, but Dan had the answer I was looking for. Perhaps the "Luke screwed MT" thing is Freudian wishful thinking? :smt054

Anyway, that answer suits me fine, 'tis correct, so it's over to you MT! Ooooohh Yeeeeaaahhh!!!

Luke, you should be doing the proper research recquired before asking these types of questions. Sincerely disappointed.....and as for the "Luke screwed MT" being wishful thinking, how crude!!! :smt003

Okay my turn now, gee this is a lot harder than you would think, okay, got one!

What was special about the last episode of Raw to take place before St. Valentine's Day Massacre in February of 1999?

Hmm.... "What was special?"

Well it was dubbed "RAW in Toronto" by some because it took place at the Skydome, Toronto in front of a crowd of 30,000, taking in $1 million. Although it was shown Live in Canada on Monday, February 8, the show aired on Saturday, February 13 in the USA, the night before St Valentine's Day Massacre.

Other than that, all I can really remember is that Stone Cold Steve Austin won a Corporate Gauntlet Match, defeating Ken Shamrock, Test, Kane, Chyna and the Big Boss Man by Disqualification and pinning Vince McMahon.

Probably not the answer you were looking for at all, but, hey, it was worth a try!

Well yeah, you kinda got it within your answer Luke. I was looking for the fact that it was aired on Saturday and was a Saturday Night Raw instead of the usual Monday night show, so yet again Luke, you got it. :smt006

"Macho Man" Randy Savage defeated "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase in the WWF Championship Tournament Final at WrestleMania IV to win the vacant WWF Championship, but how and why was the title vacated in the first place?
