The Official Music Thread

Postby MinistryTaker » Mon Aug 30, 2004 7:56 pm

I've just talked it over with Dan and this has been okayed so in here you can post anything about music. Like your favourite band, good songs you've just heard recently or ask recommendations and things like that. So get posting.

Favourite Band: It was the kings of metal Metallica especially after seeing them live but I'm really into Cold at the minute and they are probably my new favourite band.

I would probably have to recommend a new song by Hoobastank called The Reason. It's not really a heavy song but I definitely like it. Anyone heard it? Also you should check out the new song by Salive called Survival Of The Sickest. It's pretty damn good and is apparently being used for WWE's Unforgiven PPV.

Fozzy? I've never heard there stuff but I'd be intersted in doing so. Anywhere you could recommend?

I'm also just back from my friends house where we just watched the Slayer DVD-War At The Warfield. That is some amazing stuff right there. Anyone seen it?

I've been undecided as to who my favourite band is for a while but I can now say it is and forever will be Nirvana. After discovering songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium, I can't get enough of them. I love Puddle of Mudd's music aswell so they will rank as my second favourite band. The rest I chop and change all the time.

I would probably have to recommend a new song by Hoobastank called The Reason. It's not really a heavy song but I definitely like it. Anyone heard it?

I've got Hoobastank's new album also entitled The Reason, definitely some great songs on there.

Hmmm...I'm not to keen on Nirvana. I was into them for a while but they don't really appeal to me anymore. Better than some though, better than a lot actually. I really enjoy some Puddle Of Mudd stuff like Blurry and Nothing Left To Lose. Have you been to see any bands live Dan or has anyone seen any bands live?

Never gone to see a band play live...yet. Would have loved to have seen Nirvana live, obviously that can't happen now. One day I hope to go and see POM play live. :smt106

Yeah fingers crossed Dan. It's an amazing feeling. The Metallica show was great. I had to drive four hours to get to Dublin and then walk for an hour from the city centre until I got to the RDS. It was well worth it though. I got to see the Darkness and Metallica. Linkin Park were there as well but I'm not really into them that much. I was in the seats and I must have looked like a complete loony as I was standing and headbanging and moshing away. You could hardly hear the Metallica at all as so many people were either singing or screaming along. I also got a killer tour t-shirt that I wear all the trime. It was amazing. I really hope you get a chance soon Dan. You'll love it. :smt006

People, I have three words for you: DIR EN GREY. Nothing can beat Dir en Grey. Rammstein comes in a close second, though.

That's all I have to say for now. I think.

(Oh, and remember kids--there's more to life than american rock! Other countries can make great music too, you know!)

I've never heard of Dir en grey although I'll give them a look into. I've heard some Rammstein stuff and I like them. I have no idea what they're saying though but I like Ich Will and Mutter (which means mother :smt003 ). I also like Breed 77. Anyone heard of them?

Hmmm, my favourite bands would be Metallica, Linkin Park, Evanescence, The Rasmus and im fond of a little Guns n Roses. Next year, Im going to try and get tickets for one of the 1st three bands I listed and get a few people to go with me.

Im also watching out on Switchfoots career - I loved their Spiderman 2 track - Meant to Live and it was the reason I went out and bought the soundtrack. They have some really good guitarists and the guys a quality singer.

Cool thread btw. :smt006

Fav bands....

Black Sabbath (especially "Iron Man." Funny story though. There was this bus driver who was obviously on dope and what impressed the kids was that she knew ALL the words to that song. :smt005 )

Evanescence (esp. "Wake me up"), Coldplay (esp. "Clocks"), The Cure (esp. "Burn")

Other musicians...

Elvis (fondess for the classics), Tom Petty, Madonna, Nat King Cole, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Rufus Wainright, Sheryl Crow, Annie Lennox, Enya, Lorenna McKennitt, and Steppenwolf to name a few.

I seen them this year. I wouldn't usually watch them but I saw it last year and really enjoyed it. It definitely wasn't as good as last year. The best performance would probably have been the Nelly and Christina performance. I don't really like either of them but the whole performance was really good.

I'm sorry for you Linkin Park fans but I can't stand those guys. I was upset that they won the viewer's choice award at the vmas.

I'm sorry Dan that you haven't seen a band live. That must really suck. I've seen so many bands live it's hard to remember how many times i've been to a concert. I can't even remember who i've all seen. lol.

I dont have a favorite band or artist. I like so many it's hard to choose one. I'm into all types of music. Anybody heard Velvet Revolver? I think they are awesome. They got Slash, Duff, and Matt from Gun's N' Roses. They got Scott Weiland and some guy on guitar named Dave. They have some pretty good songs. I really am enjoying them right now too. Later!

I'm sorry to be requesting the name of a song here but it's urgent as I love the way this but goes in it. Does anyone have the Wrestlemania XX DVD and on the third disc there is a bit in the Mania of Wrestlemania section. It's a couple of clips of HBK and the music in the background goes a bit like "if I could change the hands of time". Can anyone help me as to who writes this. Please!!!!

Speaking of HBK, I wonder if anyone can find the original not the "Remix" from Anthology. Here Comes the Pain is only 1 minute long, and I want 2 minutes worth!
