Triple H will be in his own match. He's too big a star to not be.

Damn you Veritas lol, I thought Shawn would no doubt win and end the streak. He's the second superstar to ever face Taker twice at Mania. But then when you said about this possibility, I think it wouldn't surprise if they do. I mean Triple H has been there for Shawn, but at the moment Shawn doesn't care. He's throwing D-X away, and he is letting HHH down. You can tell HHH is getting p****d off, just by looking at his face. So by screwing him at Mania, could be some sort of payback and a good way to bring Shawn back after his break.

There's so many possibilities. Of course we can't narrow it down till we find out what HHH is doing at Mania. It looks like he might be doing a program with Sheamus, likely in which HHH loses slightly unclean to Sheamus to put him over. Admittedly a HHH heel turn would be fantastic. It seems like they've locked a lot of their faces in quite tightly (HHH, HBK, Taker, Cena) for a very long time, and they're really reluctant about swapping them out.

I realize they've moved a lot of their upper-midcard low-topcard talent into heels (CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Batista) but I'd like to see a huge heel swing from *someone* soon. Let's get a real baddie going on folks, instead of the same ol' baddies.

I think Batista's heel turn qualities for that, quite frankly. I'd put him above a Upper Midcarder. Sure he's not quite in the same spot he was a few years ago but he's been a huge focus of the company for much of his time since the early 2005 . In 2005 he was basically the John Cena of today. Not only is he a reigning 6 time WWE World Champion who is in the main event of Wrestlemania but I believe he still holds the longest World Championship reign ever and was pretty much at the upper echelons of the "main eventer" pecking order. The only people I'd probably say are "bigger than him" so to speak in the company are John Cena, Triple H and the Undertaker, and maybe Shawn Michaels. And He has clean wins over all of them. And prior to his heel turn the only people with 100% clean pinfalls over him were the Undertaker and Randy Orton. He's also never been in this spot before. Sure he's been heel, but he's never been a Main Event heel. He went straight from Upper-Midcard tweener to Main Event Babyface.

Batistas' heel turn was decent, but it doesn't make up for the fact he's still a terrible wrestler, and moves like a lump. They rushed him to the top in 2005 solely because Vince gets a hard on whenever he sees him. That HGH look is what Vince covets, and places above any talent, or ability.

As for turning HHH heel, I've been hoping for him, or Shawn to turn heel for two years now. I'm thinking Creative is scared to swap them out due to the fact that it would be harder to sell them now since the fans have been cheer for them for so long now. HHH is in the midst of his longest run by far as a face now. He's overdue to turn heel now. HBK has basically been a tweener, or a face since his return in 2002.If this retirement angle is just a title for his upcoming 5 month vacation, then I hope they turn him heel immediately upon his return. If he's done after Taker pins him, then it would be a waste to turn him for one more match.

Well I wasn't referring to if he was good or bad in the ring. I was just answering that he was a main event superstar, and a huge one at that, who switched his good guy/bad guy alignment from what it long was, recently.

Shawn Michaels has been telling friends as of late he plans on leaving WWE for good following WrestleMania. His contract is set to expire soon and he has talked about wanting to spend more time with his children as they grow up.

While there's a chance he could stick around on a limited schedule, that's said to be a long shot at this point.

Michaels is not advertised for any shows past the night after WrestleMania when Raw emanates from the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Yeah, I heard something similar around the same time last year, and if there's truth in it, then by all means I think it's a good idea. I don't have kids or anything but all my sisters have kids and they say that once they get past the whole 'baby' thing and become kids, it's a wonderful time that shouldn't be missed.

Shawn's been kicking the subject of retirement around alot more this past year. You figure he's closed some loose ends with HHH by ending DX. This match with Taker will be the logical closure to his career. Technically you can consider this a title for his annual vacation too... If this scoop is true, which I'm a bit skeptical of it, then Hopefully WWE does a sendoff, on a Flairlike scale. I think Shawn won't make the same bad judgment Flair did by going to TNA, and coming out of retirement...

The difference is that (despite the JBL storyline from this time last year) Michael Hickenbottom is financially secure by all accounts, having invested his money smartly, much like Mr. Calaway has done, and very much unlike Richard Fliehr, who has apparently wasted every cent he ever earned. I expect Shawn will retire, maybe he'll do a little wrestling, some hosting, special shots (a la Stone Cold), but he'll be done.

I can believe that about Flair... I've read he's a bit of a drama queen... Maybe he's wasting that money because he can't let go of the Ric Flair persona too...

Anybody hear anything on what Legacy, and Orton's gonna be doing with their angle at Mania??? I suspect they'll make an official match for Mania on Raw tonight, but I'm wondering what the stips will be...

Since Backlash is no more, if it was me, I'd make it a #1 contender's match for Extreme Rules...and a Triple Threat match. Only the best of Legacy will survive.

But it'll probably be a 2 on 1 handicap match.

I'm just curious...what exactly is an "ambassador's" role?

Wrestling-Radio.com

- Sgt. Slaughter has reportedly signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment according to his official website http://www.sgtslaughter.com. Slaughter will serve as WWE’s official “Ambassador” and will have a role to play during this years Wrestlemania weekend.

oh yea..

- It looks like Bret Hart will be sticking around with WWE after WrestleMania. He is currently being advertised for the WWE tour of Germany after WrestleMania as a special enforcer in the main events of Edge vs. Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title.

Slaughters' job will be to pass out face shields before he talks to fans at the event... The fans will need the protection from him spitting all over them when he talks...

I can see Orton getting screwedover in some sort of one on one match. Then they can set up a Triple Threat in the Cage at Extreme Rules, between Legacy, & Orton...
EDIT: It was just announced that Orton will take on Legacy in a Triple Threat at Mania...

Bret Hart is probably going to beat Vince, turn him around, bend him over and shove his fake leg cast up the wazoo. I seriously doubt Shawn Michaels winning tomorrow. 'Taker's Wrestlemania streak is all that he has to his name, and if that goes there isn't any reason to continue wrestling. For the betterment of the company and the character itself, Undertaker should be victorious in the match tomorrow.

Re: WrestleMania XXVI

Postby Luke » Sun Mar 28, 2010 11:56 pm

I am really looking forward to WrestleMania XXVI for a number of reasons:

1. Although it won't be a wrestling classic, I've been waiting 13 years to see Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon
2. Although I had different ideas about how things should've played out at Elimination Chamber and the Road to WrestleMania, Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels 2 (Streak vs. Career) has been handled brilliantly and I am looking forward to see these two legends dance again on the biggest stage of them all!
3. Both the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Title Matches have had decent build and I am actually looking forward to seeing Cena vs. Batista and Edge vs. Jericho, both purely from a face vs. heel feud perspective
4. As always, am looking forward to Money in the Bank
5. Have loved what they've done with CM Punk/Mysterio
6. Even though one can take a pretty educated guess at a few of the matches, I think we've been left with a pretty realistic and plausible "it could go either way" scenario for majority of the card, which is great mark stuff when you've spent so many years watching WWE as a smark.

Okay, very briefly, on to my predictions/"this should happen because.....":

Edge to win because his return/win at the Rumble and his face turn has been great fun to watch. Surely Jericho was only ever set to be a temporary transition champion to take the belt off 'Taker only to lose it to Edge. To make the fans happy and add a great moment to this feud, I want to see "SPEAR! SPEAR! SPEAR!" and Edge walk out as World Heavyweight Champ.

Batista to win, purely because it will add a lot more heat to the Batista/Cena feud. The sceptical bit of me is almost certain that we'll see the obvious WWE cop-out with Super Cena winning the title to get his just reward from losing the title to Batista the way he did at Elimination Chamber, but we had Super Cena win the Elimination Chamber, to get the title back again this soon is just silly, plus they can really stretch this feud even more and really build to Cena regaining the title, which will be better in my opinion.

Undertaker to win, well, because it's WrestleMania, streak and the Deadman.....need I say more!

Bret Hart to win because sweet justice has been waiting 13 years. I am a little worried that this will be a big "just business" ego rub for the Chairman, if so, Bret must be getting paid a hell of a lot of dollars. For the fans though Vince, and for Bret, and for an awesome WrestleMania moment, please, Bret to win.

CM Punk to win because I think this feud still has a lot more juice in it and I think you get a lot more out of both Mysterio and Punk, especially Punk if Mysterio loses and has to "join" the Straight Edge Society and then fight for his freedom and revenge on Punk. More drama from the big upset here and Mysterio continuing the fight for his pride, freedom and victory.

Triple H to win because although Sheamus has arguably had a bigger push than either John Cena and Randy Orton - just look at what he's achieved in his short time with the company, I really think this one is about the rookie learning a lesson, which is, you can play many successful rounds and win them, but sometimes you're luck doesn't extend to winning "The Game." I would like to see this feud continue after WrestleMania though as I think Triple H can get some good matches out of Sheamus over the coming months.

Money in the Bank - I'd say it can only really be between Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger and Christian. I'm plumping for Christian on a complete whim. My guilty pleasure is that there's part of me that would like to see Dolph Ziggler win it because I actually quite like him, but I don't think he's ready for a MITB win and World Title shot just yet.

Hmm....Orton or DiBiase. By all accounts, DiBiase is set for a big push, but I'm saying Orton because I think this match should be about the breakdown of the relationship between DiBiase and Rhodes, with Orton causing the upset to both and teaching both boys a lesson not to torment The Viper, because he bites, and it hurts!

ShoMiz to win because I think they work well as WWE Tag Team Champs. As much as I like this pairing of Morrison and R-Truth, Morrison really does need to be on his own pursuing bigger and better things. I think there's a lot more to get out of ShoMiz as tag champs so I'd like to see them hold on to the belts.

Ooh, we're just about ready to start.....I'm quite excited!

I thought the show was decent. It was a bit better than last year, but not all that much... I thought the order of thematches could've been ALOT better... Really though, the Divas match should've been the second match of the evening....

ShowMiz winning was predictable. Morrison is Main Event ready in my eyes, and the result of this match tells me that MoTruth is done... The match was decent.

Legacy Vs. Orton was good. Nice to see the crowd firmly behind Orton. Ithought there'd be a swerve in the match, but I was wrong... Glad to see Orton come out on top...

MITB: This was a good matchup. I like all the harum scarum high impact spots. Swagger winning the Briefcase surprised me. I thought Christian would finally get his due from Vince... I was wrong. We'll see if Swagger gets the push that comes with that Briefcase...

Mysterio vs. Punk was good. I would've liked to have seen Punk get the pin on Rey, but with the stip being what it was, Punk was gonna job out in this one... I would've liked to see the stipulations be Hair, Beard, and Chest Hair vs. Mask... Punk's looking more homeless by the week...I wouldn't mind seeing him bald like Gallows...

HHH vs. Sheamus... I didn't like the result. Ithought we'd see Sheamus get the nod, but it's Mania, and it's where the biggest stars rule, so HHH won. The match itself was pretty good actually.

Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon: Not a bad match... Not that good either... I like the fact it closes the storyline that the Screw Job inadvertantly started 12 years ago. I also liked Bret getting the nod, and the closure he deserves.

Jericho vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Title: The match was good, and the result surprised me bigtime. I'm very surprised Jericho didn't job in this one... At least that holds off any chance of Jericho jobbing to Howard Finkel, and Matt Hardy for 4 more weeks... They'll no doubt continue this storyline til Extreme Rules.

The Divas match: This should've been much earlier in the card. It also should've been Beth Vs. McCool for the Womens Title... Instead it was really a joke... Next year the booking agents need to arrange the matches better. The interest in the matches should continuously rise as the PPV goes on... Having this match sandwiched between the Title matches provided the perfect opportunity for a much needed toilet break... I'd take a 15 minute intermission over a Divas Match next year...

Batista vs. Cena for the WWE Title: This was a pretty good match. The result was as predictable as the Streak continuing. The only thing I didn't like was how they portrayed Cena being stronger than Batista in a couple parts of the match. In almost every other match, Batista is the strongest guy that ever walked the face of the Earth according to the announce team. Tonight Cena was the strength freak. I'm thought the result was necessary. Bats was positioned way too strong for the entire build.

Career vs. Streak... HBK vs. Taker: This was the best match of the night. It was a faster paced match this time around. It also allowed both guys to have their usual high impact spots. Shawn hitting Taker on the table with the moonsault was excellent. Both guys hit their finisher 3 times, which we predicted here. The last Tombstone was wicked, as it was powerfully done by Taker. I loved the show of respect after the match. They both showed class, and showed the young guys, once again, what wrestling, and entertainment's all about. Very Good.

It was a bit sad to see Shawn heading to the back for the last time, but we'll see him once in a while in the ring again. I hope tomorrow night has some sort of sendoff for him.

I liked the show, but there wasn't as much crowd energy as there was in years past... It was good, but they could still do better overall...
