I'd agree to that, get back to the kitchen bitches thats were you belong.

And to be fair, it is not france's fault it's henry's fault. Ban him for a while. But its typical french to get away with this, whine and bitch.

Sinse Norway is not there I'll chant for Italy.

I have nothing against France making it to the final 32, even if Henry didn't handball the ball France still would have gone through. If you counted how many times a foul was missed you'd need a hell of a lot of fingers.

FUCK ITALY, they cheated us out of it last year. THE PRACTICE FUCKING DIVING.

Anyway if Austrlia get out of the group stage I'll be very happy.

Did you watch the game, both teams had around the equal amount of chances and possesion. Sure we may not have won in extra time or penalities, but atleast we wouldn't of been cheated. It may sound like the ireland case but it's completely different, they had chances to make the cup before the France game and even after the goal went in they still
had time to score. We made the cup and it was the knouckout round of 16 we matched Italy in our play and then he (Grosso?)dived, scored a penalty, and as soon as we kicked off the whistle got blown.

Bump.

Spain won the World Cup today. Anybody have any thoughts on the tournament? I've read reports where FIFA said the officiating was excellent for the Tourney. The counterpoints to that can come from England, and the U.S.. Overall, I thought it was a good tournament.

I was disappointed by some of the calls, but they are no more heinous than have happened in other tournaments. It was exciting in many places, and a great introduction to footy for me, who has only followed casually in the past.

It was a good World Cup overall, it showed that Africa could hold a major sporting event. Im not going to go too deep into the whole cup just a little bit into the Final. Honestly the final didnt really live up to its expectations, Holland vs Spain in a clash of attacking football didnt happen. Holland in the final played their worst football of the whole Cup, they didnt come to win, the came to not lose and played too defensively for a very attacking team. Overall the better team on the night won, but Spain weren't really on the best of form, they didn't show the world the way they can play football, but they did just enough in every game, and left South Africa with the Cup.

Playing not to lose, or playing conservatively almost never yields the results you want. Sure, it limits mistakes, but if you fall behind, then it's harder to come back. You get that far, you gotta take chances, and be aggressive. Spain played a little more aggressive than Holland did in the Final. I thought there would be more scoring going into that game. The Bronze Metal game was the best of the Weekend matchups. I thought the way Brazil played the early parts of the Tourney, that they would be dominate all the way to the final. Holland was much more aggressive when they played Brazil. I was surprised they didn't show that same aggressive style of play against Spain.

A combination of nerves, injuries, and exhaustion. Whereas Germany vs. Uruguay, they knew they were playing for a bit of pride. I will admit I found Uruguay to be the most exciting team on the field in every game they played, except for Suarez's greasy handball against Ghana, that is. Diego Forlán was the best player in the tournament by far. His goals were gorgeous, as was his one assist. He very almost tied the game for the Uruguayans at the last moment in the Bronze game...he hit that crossbar, and I am sure he will see it in his dreams. But it was still exciting.

I am pondering watching the ManU vs Celtic exhibition tonight. This football thing is truly a great sport.

Had Forlan got that shot to drop 5 cm, we'd have been talking about the goal of the Tourney. What channel is ManU vs. Celtic on tonight? I'd like to watch it. Now that my kids are starting Soccer on Tuesday, I'd like to start a crash course on actually learning the game.

It's on TSN here...I'm not sure if it will be telecast in the US, as it is a friendly exhibition in Toronto. Still, though, Man U is not going to be playing their top squad, but it is just cool to see some of them. Van Der Sar, Hargreaves, Brown, Fabio, Rafael, and their new signing Smalling will all be playing.

It's not in my channel rotation here. One thing that is in my channel rotation is the CFL games are now being played on NFL Network every Thursday night... Now I get to see Football from up North. I'm happy with that.

Nothing wrong with that. Last year's Grey Cup game was the best game of football I've ever seen. Not just Canadian football...any football. Ever.

Now that I'm ready for some Football, NFL Network changed their lineup for tonight. Now they're showing Football Follies tonight. What a damn joke.
