Undertaker Retiring!?

General talk about the Undertaker.

These rumors are just getting on my nerves. Every year one pops up and alot of people say 'Oh my God... Is this true???'. You figure that even veteran fans of the site should know it's bull due to the frequency of them. Most of us know... These writers have entirely too much time on their hands too.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I'll ignore the rumors for now on unless I hear it's official from WWE itself.

Every year??? Its more more like every month someone is going, OMG Taker is retiring. Even wrestling news sites sometimes have headlines with "Taker planning to retire after WM "random number". I belive we even had a thread from some smuck saying taker is retiring cause "Hes was apparantly not getting loud enough pop or respect from the audience" :smt009 It's sad and pathetic.

I don't like the fact people spreading rumors about Taker retiring. He will retire on his own accord. It will be a very sad moment if he does, but it is his choice. We will all support him in his decisions.

Well now that he's injured, there'll be at least two dozen different versions of the same 'he's retiring' report, and at least a dozen 'he's coming back as the ABA' reports, til he returns.

Yup, you're probably right Ed but of course we all know it's not for fact unless we get in an official article regarding it.

Nothing those rumor sites say is true. It is 100% BS. Taker will tell us when he will retire. :smt014

Those rumours in particular always make me laugh. What logical sense would it make for Taker to return from a hiatus with the Bad Ass gimmick again? What would be the point? Never mind that in his almost twenty year history, the Deadman has never gone back to a previous persona. He's constantly adapted and updated his gimmick. And let's not take into account that the Bad Ass/Big Evil persona 'died' and was buried alive! :smt003

People don't consider that the ABA/Big Evil Character was killed and Buried Alive. It's common sense. As for the rumors, yes they come out all the time, yet it's during Mania time they come out the most. Each time a new one appears, it's 98% the same crap as the one before it.

I couldn't agree with you more! It is crap, I don't bother reading the rumors to be honest with you. Only the articles posted on here from other sites, the way I look at the scenario is the day Undertaker stops appearing on T.V. forever that's when I will believe he's retired. Not someones opinion of when and why he is retiring! I would imagine all of us here and people outside PhenomForever, knows that 'Taker has had a series of injury problems. You can't expect the man to compete every week of every year, its impossible! No one can do it, and the thing is with these stars they push and push their bodies till they say look enoughs enough. I need a break!! So technically it doesn't mean, retirement.

Jim Ross posted a blog on the subject, which is also posted on the newsboard. I get blog updates emailed to me too, because I subscribed to them. At any rate, He posted the blog that said if Taker was to retire, which isn't anytime soon, the WWE would make a HUGE DEAL out of it. Jim Ross is the only 'insider' I believe in this whole retirement situation. Dan and Tom are the others that I believe when they speak on this rumor, due to the fact they run fan sites. They are both up on the news and have seen these rumors over and over again.

I think the rumour sites believe that by guessing UT will retire yearly, they'll eventually get it right.

Haha you don't know how much this comment humored me, Veritas. You are 100% right there, I bet their thinking:

* "oh well another year of getting Undertaker's retirement wrong, better luck next year".

*And another guy says "Hey we've been getting this prediction wrong for about 10 years, I think we should give up".

*when the first guy replies certainly not, lets email JR and p*** him off".

Sorry for rambling on, but I bet that's what it is like lol. People just seem to think just because he's having some R&R, he's retireing which isn't the case.

He's not a god, he's one of the all-time greats. To me, Taker and Shawn are the last real link to old school wrestling. When they both started, The Four Horsemen were just starting to run over the NWA. This is why these rumors bother me. When you have a true great of the industry around, you wouldn't want to see him leave, or retire too soon. This is why I think people should just enjoy the ride, and stop looking for it to end.

Can't we make it a policy that anyone that brings up Retirement gets thrown in a private bit of the board with Insanity X (who would be allowed to run riot, no pulling of punches not he does now) but you get my drift.
