I allways kinda wanted a tattoo of Mjølnir, I think that would be a pretty cool tattoo! I dont have anyone tho. I start to think it's kinda becoming a fad.

If you've not found one you like, Dark_Lady_18, you should try drawing your own!! That'd be a pretty cool thing, as well, to say it's unique because you've drawn it yourself!

I have a tattoo on my lower back, of two chinese characters which mean "Courage". I didn't choose them for their meaning, more because I liked the actual characters themselves, but it's always nice to have that little reminder that I should try and be a little more courageous!

I want to get a couple more, but I don't quite know where yet. I was considering getting the African symbol of "Sankofa" tattooed on my wrist. It means "go back and take", symbolising the idea of taking experience from your past and using it to move forward positively through knowledge. Aside from thinking that's a really good life message, again, I really like the symbol itself. I first came across it on Janet Jackson's album The Velvet Rope, where she uses it on the cover of the Australian Tour Edition:

My only reservation about getting that tattooed on my wrist is its visibility. I want to become an actor, and if it's on my wrist, it's in a very obvious position, and might hinder me as i start my career. Although i would perhaps only have the outline done, so as to make it easier to be covered by makeup. Again, not sure.

Another idea i was considering was having my friend translate "Inspire" into chinese characters, in memory of everyone who has inspired me to become the person I am today.


Tattoos are incredibly personal, and I am all for them!! I'd love to see pictures of forum members' tattoos/future tattoos soon!! Hopefully I'll be able to upload a picture of mine soon!

I think chinese symbols look awesome, but i always kinda stand there looking at their tat wondering what exactly it mean..hehe....


and as for drawing out your own tat's i think its a very personalized way to get creative and add art to ur body..hehe....i do know my entire family is against getting tattoo's because they think if ur christian and u have tattoo's its gonna make a difference in the way people look at u.....mabey ill prove them wrong wen i get my tats here in a few yrs...=)

That's a good idea. You'll find if you go to a tattoo parlour, and tell them what it is you want, then they'll ask you to come back i a certain amount of time and see what they've drawn for you. They really appreciate being given the challenge, seeing as they are all artists themselves.

Takersgirl007, i know what you mean about wondering what they actually translate to! That's why I got my Chinese friend to translate it for me before i went to get it tattooed! Although for all I know, she could easily have just played a massive trick on me...maybe we'll have to have words...

even though im only 14 i always wanted a tattoo and i've always been drawing fake tattoos on my hand in fine tipped pens heres one picture of my fake tat's:


the 13 is there because i always liked the number 13, the heartagram because i like the band HIM and Bam Margera, the roots because i thought it looked cool when i saw Jeff Hardy's body tattoo, and the 12 and 24 because thats my b-day. lol i hope that when im older i can get a tattoo like that

I'll be uploading some photos of my tats on photobucket. Then I'll post them, and some images I've found that will become tattoos on me, although i'll amend them some to fit the concept I'm going for with them. I have 3 ideas, and I have to get them downloaded, and printed so Ron from GenXTattoos can draw them for me. I'll post them in the next couple days.
