I like the fact he's up and moving around. It'll be a while before he begins training again. I think he's a decent fighter. He's not the joke that some people think he is. He still has aspects of his game he has to improve. Gogo pointed them out. If UFC can work out a deal with Fedor, then that's when we'll see a real challenge to Lesnar. I'm hoping Lesnar finishes improving his total game before he fights Fedor.

Thanks for posting this!!! I'm glad to know he's doing well and will be able to fight again...and pretty soon too! It seems like it wasn't nearly as bad as it seemed at first. Although I don't love Lesnar's personality, I'm happy he can fight again. He seems to really enjoy it..and he's good at it and getting better!! (Still rooting for Carwin or Nog to beat him though. My $'s on Minotauro.)... :smt003

I heard Brock's returning to UFC today via a message I got from his Fan Page. It'll be a while before he actually fights, but to know that he's training with weights, and starting to get stronger is great. Whoever the interim Champ is, I wish them luck once Brock gets in the Octagon with them.

I actually read about it on JR's blog. I'm impressed with how up-to-date he is on everything in the ring, not just wrestling.

Veritas, wasn't J.R. the guy responsible for getting Lesnar signed in WWE back then??? If he was, he'll plug him and give updates even though Lesnar's not in WWE...

I was extremely surprised when I'd heard lesnar had some sickness and needed emergency surgery to repair it, whcih could have ended his career.
That would have been horrible, he is the most entertaining thing the MMA has got going now.
And to whomever bashed lesnar about his fights and his opponents, Randy couture is probably the greatest MMA fighter of all time and I was going for him when he went to fight lesnar but lesnar just had it that night I guess, granted couture is 46 but hey.

I'm glad lesnar is doing better because that scared the hell outta me.

I heard Mir, and Carwin are fighting to be Interim Heavyweight Champion. I think we'll be seeing Lesnar/Mir again to determine who the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion is... Lesnar's currently begun lifting weights again according to his trainer, and should be back in the Octagon by years' end...

Ed, I think that's right - I've heard talk of Mir-Carwin for the interim title. Frankly, I think his run-in w/ Lesnar was the best thing to happen to Frank MIr. It looks like he's really re-dedicated himself. He finally ran into someone who is too d**n stong and big for Mir to play around w/ and get by on cockiness and good jiu jitsu. I think Mir has more talent in him then we've seen so far and I expect Lesnar tot keep getting better, despite the set-back his illness caused. When Lesnar-Mir 3 happens, it should be a dang good fight.

Mir looked like a beast in his last fight. You can tell he trained mostly for strength, and power. He's muscled up some since his loss to Lesnar. Lesnar manhandled him in that second fight. I'm hearing that Mir, and Carwin may fight for the interim title in April... We'll see. I need to check UFC.com for news on it. Then I'll edit this post with the news...

Bump.

Brock's ill again with the same ailment he had the last time. It's been reported he pulled out of his next scheduled fight.

http://rajah.com/base/node/22897

I believe despite what Lesnar says, his career's over solely because he may not be able to avoid the surgery this time around to correct this bout of Diverticulitis. This is already starting ball on Lesnar returning to WWE rumors. Lesnar said he will not return to WWE, as he doesn't not want to be boxed into the schedule WWE follows, and that includes the part- time schedule as well.

Oh man, that reallly sucks. Diverticultis can be really tough; once you get it it, it leaves you more susceptible to it in future. I hope this bout won't be as bad. I'm seriously disappointed for him. He worked so hard to come back, and I was enjoying him on TUF.

I figured once they changed his diet for the Carwin fight, immediately after he came back, that he could avoid any more flare ups. Obviously I was wrong on it. It's also correct when you say it makes him more susceptible for another bout with it.I heard the puss filled sacks Diverticulitis causes on your intestinal tract leaves those areas much weaker, and much more prone to ulcers, and ulcerated areas on the intestines, and the colon. Lesnar's truly facing a bigger uphill battle with this second bout with it.

I never was a fan of Lesnar's when he was in WWE, but this sucks regardless.

I hope he'll be ok.

He just had 12" of his intestines removed. It doesn't look too good for his career, although hopefully the future looks a whole lot brighter for him healthwise.

Ed, do you have any idea why the surgery is so devastating career-wise? Obviously, it is a very serious surgery, but, what about it would prevent him from fighting again, once he's healed? What a shame it would be if he can't fight at all; UFC seemed like a perfect niche for him. Makes me feel bad that he could have to give it up, when he had so much more he could have accomplished. He fired up the heavyweight division more than anyone in a long time.

Anytime you have part of your organs removed, it puts you at a higher risk level for injury, or worse. Dana White said if Lesnar had the surgery the last time he came down with Diverticulitis, he wouldn't fight again in UFC. I think it'll hold true. He runs the risk of some body shots in that area that can cause further damage to the surgically repaired area as well. I wouldn't chance it when it comes to my health too.

Although with that said, Lesnar's said he's gonna fight again...

BUMP!!!!!!

As of tonight, Brock Lesnar has retired from UFC. He lost to Alistair Overeem in the first Round of their fight. Inevitably, the Internet Rumor Mill will go apeshit about a possible return to WWE, and the like. I don't believe it'll happen immediately, but I do believe they'll contact him.

I also believe his decline in the UFC was caused by his Diverticulitis condition, which he had surgery back in Summertime to correct. In all honesty, I believe he rushed back to the Octagon, and should have taken at least another year off to completely heal up.

So while I've typed up my thoughts, and this story will unfold in the next couple of days... Give me your opinion on the aftermath of Lesnar's Retirement...

I have mixed feelings about it. Part of me is thinking typical Brock. Whenever things don't go his way in what he's doing (eg WWE, NFL) he picks up his ball and goes home. But then again, the man had 12 inches of his colon removed and you would reconsider too if you took a kick to the gut the way he did. I'd like to see how this all turns out though. Maybe WWE will get in touch with him or whatever.
