Well well well, long time no speak TLK! Of course I remember you! I'm still here, gathering dust, although I must admit that I have flipped in and out of forum action in recent years, but been back here solidly for almost a year now. How are you?

I'm fine thanks bad, just enjoying a lazy life as I'm jobless again but not much new there in the country atm.

How are you? It's good to see some familiar faces here. I'm the same, out of wrestling completely as I don't watch it anymore (must have been a teenage phase I'm guessing!) but do keep up to date with the goings on and about 'Taker.

I see you've now risen to a well deserved Moderation status, hope your reign is firm but fair!

Guten Tag (Good day)!

Danke (Thank you) for the warm welcome. This is my first time being in a country where English is not the primary language. So the few places that I have visited, the first thing I have to ask is "Sprechen Sie Englisch?" (Do you speak English?) and pray that they do, lol. It's also my first time being in Europe so, although I have been here for three months, I am still adjusting to the six-hour time difference (it's 9:00 AM here). I've lived in the United States my entire life so I occasionally experience feelings of homesickness. I continually cross my fingers that I get stationed somewhere warm (back home), preferably Texas.

Germany is much like New York (where I am originally from) in terms of the snow that accumulates here. So at least this is something that I'm used to. However, there are some laws in Germany that are outright prohibited in the States. For instance, one is allowed to drive on the Autobahn (which is basically a German highway) at outrageously high speeds. First, I am not a speed demon and second, I am not allowed to drive in Germany (since I don't have a European license) so I can't say firsthand how it's like driving on there, lol. Another example is how tolerable Germany is with people and their pets in public places. In addition to allowing people to walk their dogs without leashes, they are allowed to have them inside places such as malls, restaurants and airports. So it's not uncommon to see dogs sitting by the tables while their masters eat their lunch and such. And lastly, Germany does not mandate patrons to pay tips. (My favorite German law of them all!)

Honestly, the one thing that irritates the hell out of me is that most of my appliances (i.e. television, microwave, DVD player) cannot work without a transformer due to the difference voltage requirements in the two countries. In America, appliances work at 110 V whereas in Germany, it is 220 V. So most American appliances require a transformer (which ranges from $60-$100) to convert 110 V to 220 V. Some appliances (i.e. computers) are dual voltage and only require an American-to-German adapter. So before you plug any appliance, you need to check the voltage. Otherwise, you risk destroying it. I should know. So far, I almost fried my microwave and fried my friend's VCR. And lastly, most places here only accept Euros and pounds (duh!) so I usually have to pay with credit cards here. I don't understand "Euro and pounds" language so I'm left asking, "So what would that be in dollars?" (lol).

And yes, Mercedes Benz and Audi are the most popular cars driven here. It's funny (and natural) how, in the States, these cars are associated with the rich and luxurious yet they are the "everyday" car here. So if you drive a Ford (like me) or a Chevrolet here, they will know that you're an American, lol. In addition, the roads here are very narrow. So you can imagine how much space a large car like a Cadillac Escalade (my dream car) takes up.

Hi, everyone! Let me re-introduce myself to everyone... I'm Ian, currently (and obviously) going by the name "The Deranged Writer" on this forum. And for the people who have joined here around 2009, I'm an old member in here, I have been inactive since the said year because of college and other interests, and I would really like to say that I really miss this forum very much! Seriously!

Are there any other old members in here? And to those old people... do you remember me?
