I love watching boomerang. My niece watches it all the time. I like popeye, wacky races like SD said, all the cartoons there. I really like watching the powerpuff girls. These cartoons bring back a lot of memories

Oooo you're a Stargate fan. Are you watching the new series Veritas? I've always been a huge fan of the show, but the latest series Universe is like Stargate grow up. Love it.

Big fan of original Star Trek (only!) and Top Gear.

I happen to think TOS is lame in most situations. Roddenbery hits people over the head with whatever point he wants to make. Both Patrick Stewart and Avery Brooks put much better nuance and subtlety into their performances as captain, when compared to Shatner as Kirk (on TOS, the movies are different). Pioneering? Yes, but it's the beginning of an art form that wasn't refined until much later.

Yes, I've been watching SGU religiously. I very much enjoy it. Whereas Atlantis was often very kiddy, and SG1 was good indeed, SGU, I find, is very dark and enjoyable. I like the concepts involved. You get the feeling they're at the end of their rope and somehow just hanging on by a thread.

I'm not a Trekkie, I just tend to be a fan of a lot of shows from the 60s/70s and the actors in them. I'm a huge Shatner mark and really watch anything he's in. I liked the original for it's simplistically and lack of depth actually, so I get where you're coming from with your Roddenbery comment, I just see it as it's strength rather than weakness.

I can dig that. I am a Trekkie, so I get jiggy with the message quite easily in the newer stuff.

Well, since I managed to plow my way through Stargate the movie, all 10 season box sets of Stargate SG-1, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum in what has got to have been record time, I am now working my way through Battlestar Galactica for the first time and am on Season 3 already and it's brilliant! I watched Seasons 1 and 2 alongside the first half of Season 1 of its prequel spin-off Caprica on Sky 1, which I thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait for the second half of the season in October.

I am also just moving on to Season 2 of Prison Break, I enjoyed Season 1 so am looking forward to watching the second season. I must admit though, I couldn't help but get bored sometimes at the utterly predictable stroke of luck in every episode, but an enjoyable show all the same.

I am also enjoying watching Season 3 of The Tudors, and no, not just because of Jonathan Rhys Meyers, more because of Henry Cavill, PHWOAR!! :smt030 hehehe! I'm aware that the 4th and final season has just started in the US/Canada, so I will be looking forward to sticking this one on the DVD rental list.

The other TV show I am watching at the moment is Supernatural, coming towards the end of Season 5, which has been okay, but even though I'm a fan, I wasn't all that pleased to hear that they'll be making a 6th season because I really felt this angels vs. demons apocalyptic storyline should have been the culminating climax of the show, so it'll be interesting to see where they go with Season 6.

One thing I am going to look forward to renting is The Pacific as I thought Band of Brothers was amazing.

I've been watching The Pacific as it comes out, and let me tell you, it is utterly amazing. A different story told in the same style. So far there has been a bit less emphasis on combat and more on the psychological trauma suffered by men who fought in the southeast Pacific theatre, which makes a lot of sense.

That's good to hear, not the psychological trauma part, but the fact that it is an amazing story. I am looking forward to watching it.

Just to cheer up all you ladies and any guys here who may also be the way I am inclined, I thought I'd post some goodness of the hot totty that is Henry Cavill, aforementioned above.
