Royal Rumble 2011

Postby KaneTakerfan4life » Thu Dec 02, 2010 1:32 am

It's almost that time again; the Road to WrestleMania will soon begin. Presenting your promotional poster for the Royal Rumble! :

Image

Not a bad looking poster. Though Cena being on it is more-or-less a giveaway that he'll be involved in the PPV since it's in his hometown of Boston.

As far as who'll win, I really have no idea at the moment; though the recent trend (since 2007) seems to suggest that a more established guy to win but we'll see.

Anyhow, discuss!

If anything, I see Wade Barrett winning, if he doesn't get the title before then. The Nexus will most likely interfere and cost whoever is up against him in the final two the match, thus granting Wade the victory.

I'd like that option. I think Orton gets the belt back, and then Barrett gets his shot. I can also see Barrett wrestling Taker at Mania, provided Taker's recovered from his surgery by then.

Now I see Barrett winning the rumble but him Taker at WM well he might be one of Taker choices face at WM. I just want Taker back before WM.

I don't see Taker winning the World Title back before Wrestlemania because he may not even be back before then. And because of that, I doubt Barrett would win. Although he could I guess, I suppose it would depend on if he's being built to face Taker at Wrestlemania.Which of course depends on if Taker can recover in time for mania.

If Taker does recover in time for Mania, then I think Barrett's the only choice for his potential opponent for Mania. Taker really hasn't responded to the Nexus attacks on him. Why not have Taker go after Barrett, and Nexus, provided WWE didn't end the group, at Mania 27. I think it's also a good proving ground for Barrett to showcase his talents, and prove he's good enough to maintain his push.

I think Miz might hold onto the WWE Title till Mania 27. I also think Randy Orton will get the nod for the Rumble. I can also see Cena being inserted into the WWE Title match at Mania 27, making it a Triple Threat Match. I'm think Kane & Edge will face off in a one on one match for the World Title at the Rumble. I also hope WWE doesn't decide to insert Mysterio, and Del Rio into the match up.

I think that Triple H is going to do what John Cena did come back enter at number 30 and win it all together.

I don't see HHH doing that. He's in a new Corporate position with WWE now. I think he'll be more of a part time wrestler now. I can see him returning at the Royal Rumble PPV, just in time to eliminate Sheamus. Then he'll close out his feud with Sheamus at Elimination Chamber.

There's speculation of Barrett turning Face now. He's moved to Smackdown now. The way it looks right now, that speculation's totally wrong. They need Barrett to add some more star power to Smackdown. Let's hope Michael Hayes doesn't crap the bed, and let Barrett get lost in mid card hell like he has quite a few other young stars. Barrett will most certainly be Taker's opponent at Mania 27, provided Taker's recovered enough from his surgery. I also wouldn't mind seeing Barrett ruin Punks' Royal Rumble aspirations either, just as a form of payback.

I'd love for Punk to win the Rumble but it looks like he's going to face off against Cena at Wrestlemania, and to be honest I don't see the WWE Title being entangled in the program between them, or at least not for Wrestlemania. I do suspect perhaps both of them will get a title shot at Elimination Chamber but I personally doubt either would be winning it until quite a while after Wrestlemania at the earliest. Although I suppose they could, if they wanted to recreate the circumstances of the Jericho-Edge Title feud of last year.

At least that's my two cents. With Orton in the Championship match against Miz, That does leave the winner in a little bit of doubt. If it doesn't turn out to be Cena, Morrison seems like a contender but that's be a big step that I'm not sure the creative team would be willing to trust him with yet.

Are there any big surprise returns plausible by the time the Royal Rumble rolls around? Like Triple H or Christian?

I have decided that we will run the PPV Predictions Contest for 2011 - just for fun. I will post the new PPV Predictions Contest thread as soon as I have found out how to post the topic as an "Announcement" on the Pay-Per-View board, so please bear with me.

Well, Del Rio won the Rumble, Eve's the Divas Champion, and both The Miz, and Edge retained their Titles. Booker T, and Diesel, returned to WWE... All in all, it was a decent show. I'm kind of surprised they pulled the trigger on Del Rio. I can actually see WWE pulling the trigger on Del Rio beating Edge for the World Heavyweight Title at Mania.

Decent show all in all.

Edge vs Ziggler was the better of the two title matches, Edge going all Eddie Guerrero for the win brough a smile to my face. All round good match, Ziggler can certainly hold his own and he is only behind Del Rio in my eyes as the best youngster in the company

Miz vs Randy, obviously wasnt going to have a clean ending. Nexus coming out setting up a Punk vs Orton fued.

When it was announced that it was going to be a fatal four way for the Divas belt i was hoping for Kong but they didnt pull the trigger on her, Eve winning, not expected. Id rather have Nattie as divas champ but Eve can wrestle decently and i dont mind looking at her so its not that much of a problem.

The rumble match wasnt as exciting as recently years but still very good. CM Punk contolling the first half of the match was great, CM Punk is next to none at the moment in my eyes in Pro wrestling, he has it all. Was good to see Booker again, he apparently has joined the company to train some of the younger guys and put them over. Im not to sure at Nash, either way it was a good to see him not in TNA. Del Rio has the goods, glad he won. Although for a split second i though Santino was going to win, which left me utterly confused and made my head hurt from how stupid that could have been but in the end Del Rio won so all is well and good.

So to me main looks like

Cena vs Miz for WWE Title
Del Rio vs Edge for World Heavyweight Championship

Then if they continue the story line its going to be Nexus vs Corre if not then Punk vs Orton and Barret vs Taker. If Nexus vs Corre happens then Taker vs Kane looks like for a third time at Maina. Throw in Sheamus vs HHH aswell

Well I didn't see Del Rio winning the Rumble actually I thought he go on to win MITB match at WM but I guess got proven wrong this going real boost for him. Diva match that pretty cool that make a 4 way Eve is good champ I'm just it wasn't Laycool. As for the World and WWE title I knew the Miz and Edge wouldn't lose their belts but I didn't the New Nexus and Kelly though. This prove in the WWE anything can happen.

Not so good PPV, overall, but man...I got goosebumps when Booker entered the rumble. Also Diesel, but I wish it would've been as Nash, not Diesel. I didn't see the guy since his NWO days in WCW.

Fantastic feeling, those 2 guys made me watch the rumble, although I was VERY disappointed that they got eliminated so fast. I hope they both stay in WWE, doesn't matter what roles they'll have. Thank you WWE for Booker and Nash, I hope they get back many more superstars from the old days in the future. :smt006

P.S. Nash tweeted "Absolutely the best night of my wrestling career. It's so nice to be back in WWE family. Thanks Boston for making me feel so special.". There's NO WAY that a TNA crowd can be like a WWE crowd. Huge pops for both of those guys, fantastic atmosphere.

P.P.S. "Booker T signed a long-term deal as noted earlier, but it was planned that he would be a manager who did some wrestling and coaching. But due to his reaction last night and the fact that he can still go, he may get a longer in-ring run. There was talk about programming him with some main event level guys after last night.

-- Kevin Nash signed a short term deal, but they are open to doing more business with him. TV is being rewritten today, and their roles on tonight's show should show if they have any serious plans with them going forward."
