Hi everyone. Thought I'd try my hand at a little story. Hope you like it.

Sometime’s I wish…….

A little back ground on this story…
Danni is a 43 year old woman, divorced early and also widowed. She has two boys, one from each marriage. She lives in California in the valley.
Danni has been a long time fan of WWF/WWE.
One of her best friends, Kelly is close with Glen’s (Kane) current girl friend Pam.


Danni comes home after a long day of work. She has picked up her boys from school and is getting ready to make dinner. Her phone rings. Of course she lets the phone to go the answering machine. It’s been a long day….

On the machine she hears…” Danni you there? Pick up its Kelly”
Danni picks up the phone to see what’s up with her friend. Kelly has been her best friend since junior high. She has been at her side through everything that has happened to Danni, from her early marriage and divorce to helping her through the death of her second husband.

Danni – “ Hey Kelly, what’s going on? You sounded excited on the machine.”
Kelly – “What are your plans for this weekend?” She always asks, making sure that things are going well for Danni and her boys is one of the most important things to her.
Danni – “Well, it’s Corey’s birthday on Sunday. We have tickets to Summer slam and access why?”
Kelly – “I didn’t know you got tickets to Summer slam.”
Danni – “Well, it’s on Corey’s 10th birthday at Staples Center. Cor really wanted to go. You know how much he loves John Cena.”
Kelly – “Is Kyler going to his dad’s this weekend?”
Danni – “Yes, he goes back to his dad’s on Friday. It’s just me and Corey this weekend.”
Kelly – “ Oh, I was hopping that Kyler would be home to babysit. I wanted to see if you were free on Monday.”
Danni – “Well, that depends. I have a couple of days off this week. Corey is going to my mom’s for his ‘birthday week’. I’m taking him down to her house Monday morning. What did you have in mind?”
Kelly – “What time do you think you’ll be back?”
Danni – “Probably about 2. What is up that you wanted to know?”

Kelly was always trying to get Danni out of the house and do fun things with her. Usually, she includes Danni’s boys in what ever she plans.

Kelly – “I have a party to go to Monday and I don’t want to go alone. It’s in the early evening. Want to go with me?”
Danni – “You know I don’t do parties any more. Not since Gray passed anyway.”
Kelly – “That’s been almost two years now. Don’t you think you deserve to have some fun?”

At this point her oldest son Kyler, who’s 16, jumps into the conversation.

Kyler – “Mom, what does Kelly want you to go do with her?”
Danni – “She wants me to go to a party.”
Kyler – “Well why don’t you go?! You don’t do anything for yourself. All you do is take care of me and Cor. Go have some fun for a change!”
Kelly- “I heard what Ky said, and I agree!”
Danni – “OK. I guess I can’t win with both of you on me about this.”
Kelly – “Great! I’ll be there to pick you up about 4. Be ready! Oh and wear your blue dress!”
Danni – Laughing “OK, OK you guys win!!! See you about 4 on Monday!”

Danni goes through her week like normal. Goes to work, picks up the boys, does laundry, you know, the usual single mom stuff.
Friday rolls around. Danni is getting her boys ready for school.
Kyler – “Mom, don’t forget you are going out with Kelly Monday! And don’t cancel on her!”
Danni – laughing “Don’t worry I remember. I promise I will go and at least try to have fun.”

Finally Sunday comes. Corey has been counting down the days for about two weeks now. She and Corey get ready to go to Staples Center for Access and Summer slam. Corey is wearing his favorite John Cena shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Danni puts on her favorite Undertaker shirt, shorts and tennis shoes.
Corey – “I can’t believe we are finally going! John Cena is going to beat the Nexus!!!! Boy I hope they don’t come back. I don’t like them! They are mean!”
Danni – “I know love, they are mean. I’m sure John will win.”

Access was such a blast for them. They met Alicia Foxx, Even Bourne, & the Heart Dynasty. When they went to get in line for Kane and Kahli Corey didn’t want to go. He was scared of Kane. He went anyway, because he knew this wasn’t something that was going to happen again. He knew his mom didn’t have much money.
When his mom gave him the tickets to Summer slam he just couldn’t believe it. Danni had explained that they weren’t good seats, they were up in the top of the stadium. He didn’t care. He just wanted to see John Cena.

When the two of them made their way for Kane to sign Corey’s shirt, he said in a very small voice..” My mom said Undertaker is going to get you back for what you did to him.”
Kane just smiled and laughed a bit. “So your mom like my brother does she?”
Corey – “ Oh yes! He’s her favorite! But he scares me a little, just like you do.”
Kane just laughed again.
We shook hands and went on our way.

Summer slam was great! Corey didn’t care that they were high up. He could see the whole ring and the entrance ramp. As the matches went along Corey and his mom screamed and booed and yelled until they almost had no voice left. When Kane and Rey Meysterio had there match they shouted for Rey. When the Undertaker came out of the casket Corey was amazed. Danni knew it was all set up in advance, but watching her son was so much fun, she really got into it. Corey couldn’t believe that Kane could best the Undertaker. He was disappointed for his mom. He knew how much she loved watching him wrestle.
Finally the Nexus vs. John Cena and Raw superstars was going on. Corey cheered so loud when John Cena finally beat Wade Barrett.
The day was over and Danni and Corey went home. They got up the next morning and drove down to Corey’s grandma’s house. After promising to be good, for the fourth time, he told his mom to go on home.
Danni drove home by herself. It was a very long drive and she felt very lonely. Danni didn’t have much time to herself these days, but her days were filled with her boys and that always made everything worth while.

As Danni got in the door her phone was ringing. She picked it up, thinking it could have been one of her boys.
Danni – “Hello?”
Kelly – “Danni, your home! Don’t forget about tonight!”
Danni – laughing “don’t worry I’ve been told I am not allowed to cancel on you. I’ll be ready.”
Kelly – “Great see you soon!”

Danni got herself ready to go out. Did her hair and put on a little makeup. Pulled her dress out of the closet. It was a very pretty dress. Black veil like material with beautiful blue flowers in velveteen all over. It hugged her upper body and flowed over here legs. The finishing touch, a pair of high heeled black sandals. Before long there was a knock on the door.
Danni opens the door and sees Kelly standing there.
Kelly- “Wow you look really nice! You should get dressed up more often!”
Danni – “Oh yeah, this would look great at baseball practice and the Anime Convention!” she laughs.

Kelly and Danni get in Kelly’s car and pull away. After a little while Danni asks where they were going. Kelly gets kind of quite then lets the big surprise out of the bag.

Kelly – “You know my friend Pam?”
Danni – “Of course, we all used to hang out together and have a great time.”
Kelly - “Well she’s dating this guy and they are having a small party at the hotel they are staying at.”
Danni – “Really? Who she dating? Anyone I know?
Kelly – “Well kind of. She dating a guy named Glenn Jacobs.”
Danni – “No way! She’s dating Kane?!?! Why didn’t you tell me? I can’t believe you talked me into this!”
Kelly – “If I had told you, you wouldn’t have agreed to come with me now would you? Relax, this is just a little get together for some friends.”

Danni was nervous. It was one thing to meet someone like Glenn at access; it was another thing to meet him really face to face. Oh well, she thought, it’s not like I’m ever going to see him again.

They pulled up to the hotel and walked in. There was a garden area outside in the back of the hotel. The hotel had it screened off so that only those invited would be able to see who was back there. Kelly and Danni walked up to the person guarding the entrance.
Guard – “Hi, can I help you?”
Kelly – “We are here to see Pam and Glen.”
Guard – “Just a minute.”

The guard pokes his head behind the curtain and speaks to someone inside. As he pulls he head back out he says “Just a minute.”
Pam comes out and tells the guard “It’s alright their expected.”
She pulls them inside.
Pam - “I’m so glad you came! You both look wonderful! Danni, it’s been far too long! I’ve missed you!”
The girls hug and walk out into the party.
Pam – “I want you to meet someone. Come on.”
Pam leads them over to a small gathering of people. She grabs Glen’s arm and turns him around. His smile for Pam was so wonderful. You could see he really cared for her.
Pam – “Glen these are my friends Kelly and Danni.”
Glen holds Pam’s hand as he smiles down at her friends.
Glen – “I’m so glad to meet you both. Pam has been telling me about you for a while. Sorry we haven’t met before, but with my schedule it’s hard to get together.”
Kelly – “We understand. Pam told us you travel a lot. That’s why when she invited us to this little party we were glad to come. I’ve heard a lot about you too.” She laughs.
Glen – with a smile in his voice “Hope it was all good things you heard.”
Kelly – “Of course! Danni is a big fan of WWE.”
Glen – “Really?”
Danni – “Yes” she said in a small voice. “I’ve been watching forever. My youngest son is a huge fan too. Sorry to say my older boy thinks it’s kind of silly.”
Glen – “Well, who is your son’s favorite wrestler?”
Danni – “Well he loves John Cena. We actually went to Summer slam for his birthday.”
Glen – “Did you get to meet anyone?”
Danni – “Well, actually we meet a couple of the wrestlers at access. But unfortunately for him John wasn’t one of them.”
Glen – “Well who did you meet?”
Danni – “We got signatures from several wrestlers, including you.” She said shyly.
Glen – “Really? Sorry I meet so many people at those things.”
Danni – “Don’t worry about it. I really didn’t expect you to remember us anyway.”

They talk some more and Glen and Pam wonder away to talk to some of their other friends. Kelly and Danni walk over to the bar and get some sodas. They talk to some of the other people at the party and are having a good time. A while later Glen walks up to Danni.
Glen – “there is someone I want you to meet. Sorry your son isn’t here, but let’s see what we can do.”
Glen leads Danni over to a small group of people.
Glen – “John! There is someone I want you to meet.”
John Cena turns around with a smile on his face.
John – “Always glad to meet a friend of yours.”
Glen – “John this is Danni. Her son is a big fan of yours.” He says with a smile.
John – “Nice to meet you.”
Danni – shy voice “Nice to meet you too. My son is a huge fan of yours. He has posters on his wall of you.” Realizing she is babbling a little “ Dam, sorry about that. I guess you get that a lot.”
John just smiles and says “Don’t worry about it. Always glad to meet my fans. Let me give you something for your son. What’s his name?”
Danni – “his name is Corey.”
John turns around grabs a pen and some paper and writes ‘to my good friend Corey, and signs it.
Danni – “I don’t know what to say! Thank you so much! He is going to love it!”
John just smiles and goes back to his friends.
Danni – “Glen, that was so sweet of you! My son is going to love this! Thanks just aren’t enough!”
Glen – “No problem, anything for a friend of Pam’s.”

Danni wonders back over to where she had left Kelly. She wasn’t there. After looking around for awhile she found Kelly talking to some of the guys that were there. Danni decided to find a quite corner for a while and just try to relax.

Little did she know that Mark Calaway had shown up to the party.

Chapter 2

Mark showed up at the party a little reluctantly. He wasn’t much for parties these days. Ever since he and Sara had divorced he tried to keep busy with work and his few close friends. The only reason he was there was because Glen had talked him into it. If it was up to him, he would have been spending a quite evening in his room.

Mark wandered around for a while finally spotting Glen and John over is a corner. They were talking to a pretty little thing. At least she looked little next to these big guys.

As Mark watched John handed the woman a piece of paper, smiled and walked away. The woman turned to Glen, said a few things and walked away with a smile on her face.
He watched her look for someone and then she went out of his view.

Mark walked over to Glen.
Glen – “Hey Mark! You finally made it!”
Mark – “Yeah, I told you I would. So who was that with you and John? Did John make another conquest?” he said laughingly.
Glen – “No you pain. She’s a friend of Pam’s and her son likes John. He just gave her and autograph for him.”
Mark – “Oh a son huh? Well I guess that means she’s married.”
Glen – “Actually I don’t think she is. At least Pam never mentioned a husband.” With a smile he said “Why you interested?”
Mark – “No, and you know why.”
Glen – “Oh well, can’t blame a guy for trying.” He laughs.
Mark – smiling “I guess not. Where is Pam? I wanted to say hi.”
Glen – “She’s around here somewhere.”

He looks around and spots Pam and Kelly. They both walk over to them.

Pam – “Where have you been hiding?” she said in a teasing voice.
Glen – “I took Danni to meet John. He gave her an autograph for her son.”
Pam – “That was so sweet!” she gives him a kiss. Looking over her shoulder at Kelly she says “Now you know why I care about him so much!”
This of course makes Glen blush a bit. Exactly what Pam intended.
Glen – “She’s a sweet lady. I’m glad I got to finally meet her.”
Pam – “Did you introduce Mark yet?” she said with a small smile.

Pam and Kelly both know how much Danni likes “The Undertaker”. Pam thinks Danni would like Mark too. That’s why when this party came up she and Kelly figured out a way to get her here. They were both in on this “little secret” of who would be here. She specifically asked Glen to make sure Mark came.

Glen – “No not yet. He just got here.” He looks around and doesn’t see her. “do either of you ladies know where she went?”
Kelly – “I haven’t seen her since she went with you.”

Danni had taken herself off to a quite corner. Kelly looked like she was having a good time and she didn’t want to spoil it. She was sitting alone on a bench when she heard footsteps. Thinking it was her friend looking for her she didn’t pay attention until someone sat down beside her.

“Well, what’s a pretty little thing like you doing all alone at a party? Waiting for someone?”

Danni recognized the voice. She heard it every week on RAW. It was “Edge”.

Danni – “No, just taking a breather from all this. I’m not really used to crowds anymore.”
“Edge” –“Well my name is Adam. How about we go somewhere a little more private?” he asked with a knowing smile.
Danni – “No, thank you. I think I’ll go look for my friends.”
Adam – “I could be your ‘special friend’ if you want.”
Danni – “That’s a nice offer, but no thanks.”

As Danni got up to walk away Adam grabs her arm.
Adam – “You really don’t need to go do you?” he said with a smirk.
Danni was starting to get nervous – “Yes I do. My friends will be looking for me.”
“I don’t see anyone around. Come on, it’s a beautiful night.” Adam said.
Danni – “Really I have to go.” She really didn’t like the looks he was giving her. It reminded her of her first husband. He had the same kind of look in his eyes. He though he could get his way with girl he wanted.

Meanwhile on the other side of the party the girls were starting to get worried about Danni.

“This isn’t like Danni.” Kelly said. “I know she’s shy and all that, but she usually doesn’t take off by herself.
Glen – “Why don’t we split up? Pam you and Kelly go check over by the entrance. Maybe she needed some air. Mark and I will go the other way.”
Pam – “thanks sweetheart.”

As the girls go one way Glen and Mark head back they way they came.

“There are some quiet places over this way.” He said to Mark.
As the guys wander through they run into John. “Hey guys, what’s going on?” he said.
Glen – “remember the lady you gave the autograph too? Pam’s friend Danni?”
John – “Yeah, she’s a pretty little thing. Anything wrong?”
Mark – “Seems we can’t find her and Pam’s getting worried.”
John – “I think I saw her head that way.” Points to a quiet area in the back.
Glen – “Thanks.”

Glenn and Mark continue on. They hear some voices coming from behind the trees up ahead. Nothing loud enough to make out what is being said, but they head in that direction. As they move around the trees they see Adam grab Danni’s arm. She looks upset. They hurry over.

Glen – “Adam. Let go of her.”
“Why” Adam asks.
Glen responds “That’s Pam’s friend you’re grabbing.”
Adam – “so she asked for my company.”
“No I did not.” Danni says.
Mark speaks up “Adam, if you don’t want any trouble you WILL let go of her NOW!” He growls.
“Hey guys, just a misunderstanding.” Adam says as he walks away.

Glen – “are you OK?”
Danni smiles “I am now. Thank you for helping me.”
Glen – “No problem, sorry about Adam. He’s use to women throwing themselves at him.”
“Well, that defiantly isn’t what I was doing!” Danni replies in a kind of shaky voice.
At that moment she realizes who is with Glen. She starts to stammer and blush.
“C-could you p-please take me back to the p-party? I think I’m done with quiet and alone.”
“Of course.” Glen tells her. “The girls are looking for you. Let’s go find them.”
The three of them head back to the party area. Very soon they run into Pam and Kelly.
Pam – “Are you alright?”
Danni – “I think so.”
Glen gives Pam a look that says maybe not.
Pam – “Let’s go get a drink.”
Danni nods her head yes. The three girls head over the bar area.
Kelly – “All right what happened?”
Danni told them and each girl gave her a hug.
“I’m so sorry.” Kelly said.
“It’s OK. I’m fine now.” Danni replies
Pam – “That Adam! He’s such as ass!”

The girls walk back to where Glen and Mark are waiting for them. As they walk up the hear Mark talking to Glen.

“Just let me get my hands on Adam and he’ll be sorry.” Mark growled.
Danni says to Mark “Really it’s ok. I just want to forget the whole thing.”
Mark asks with concern in his voice “Are you sure he didn’t hurt you.. or anything darlin’?”
“No, I was just a little startled. Let’s just enjoys the rest of the party.” She replies.

Glen noticed the concern in Marks voice and gave a little smirk. He hadn’t seen Mark this upset and protective in a while. Glen thinks to himself “well maybe his ‘I don’t need anyone in my life’ facade was cracking a little. If so Glen thought that it was a good thing. Mark had been devastated when Sara had cheated on him and he had withdrawn quite a bit.

Glen –“Well at least let me properly introduce you to my friend here. Mark this is Danni on of Pam’s friends.”
“Hello” Mark said in quiet voice, almost as if he was afraid of freighting her.
“Hi” Danni replied, with a blush on her face.

The five of them continued to enjoy the party. Glen and Pam danced on and off to some of the slow dances that were playing. Kelly left from time to time to talk to some of her friends. Mark never left Danni’s side. Danni was very aware of Mark’s presence. She kept sneaking glances at him.

“Well why not?” she thought to herself. He was one fine looking man. He was dressed in a black long sleeve button down shirt that fit him so nicely. You could see his muscles playing under the fabric every time he moved. Black jeans and boots looked so good on him. His hair was pulled back into a ponytail and his green eyes had flecks of gold in them.

At one point in the evening Kelly left to talk with some more of her friends. Glen and Pam went to the bar to get some drinks. It was just her and Mark. A slow song started playing.

“Um, would you like to dance?” he asked
“Yes I would.” Danni replied

Mark offered his hand and Danni took it. It felt to her as if little lightening sparks leaped from his hand to hers.

“I’m glad you stayed.” Mark said looking down at her with a smile on his face.
“So am I.” She replies blushing. “You know Glen really didn’t have to introduce us. I knew very well who you were.”

Mark – “Really darlin’? How did you know?”
Danni – “I’ve been a fan of wrestling for a long time.”
“You don’t seem the type to me.” He replied looking down and the beautiful dress she was wearing.
“Don’t let this get up fool you.” Danni says as she motions to her dress and hair. “I’m more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.”
Smiling Mark replies “Nothing wrong with that.”

The song ends and they rejoin their friends.

Glen – “Het guys, Pam and I are going to call it a night.”
Kelly looks at Danni and says “We should too.”
Danni looks at Mark “Thank you for the dance..and the other you know…”
“Anytime darlin’” he replies.
Mark leans over and gives her a kiss on the check. He blushes and turns away. He didn’t see the smile on her lips as she says goodnight to Glen and Pam.

Hope i'm adding this right. LOL
Anyway here is the next chapter

Chapter 3


As Glen and Pam head back to their room, Glen started chuckling.
“What’s so funny?” she asks
“Did you see Marks face after he kissed Danni? It was priceless!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen him blush like that!” He continues to chuckle
With a slight smile on her lips she replies “It was pretty cute wasn’t it?”
They open their door and go inside.

Mark walked back to his room in an absentminded way. He couldn’t stop thinking about Danni. The kiss he gave her surprised him. He usually didn’t do things like that. He opened his door and got ready for bed with a smile on his lips.


While Kelly was driving Danni home, she noticed the happy expression on Danni’s face.
“Did you have a good time tonight?” she asked her friend.
“Very much. Thanks for ‘talking me into going.” She said in a dreamy kind of voice. Kelly just smiled.

Kelly dropped Danni off and went on home. As Danni opened her door her smile disappeared. It was so quiet. No one else was home. “Oh well” she thought to herself and got ready for bed. As she started drifting off to sleep she remembered the kiss Mark had given her. She fell asleep with a smile.


When Mark woke up the next morning he decided to have breakfast in the restaurant instead of having room service. He showered and threw on a pair of shorts and a tank top. When he got to the restaurant he noticed Pam sitting by herself and reading a magazine.
“Mind if I join you?” ha asked.
“Of course not.” Pam replied
“Where’s Glen?”
“In our room packing. We have a 10 o’clock flight.” She laughs “You know how he is. Everything as to be just right.”
“Yeah” he chuckles back “I’ve roomed with him before.”
Pam asks him “So, did you have a good time last night?”
“You know, I really did.” He replied with a smile. Blushing a little “Have you heard from Danni…I mean both of them?” he stammers
“No, not yet. I know Kelly is working, but Danni told me she was taking a couple of days off.” She says with a smile.
Pam grabs a pen and writes something down. She gets up and hands the paper to Mark. “Well I should be getting back to the room. Glen should be ready by now. Why don’t you give Danni a call?”

Mark looks at the slip of paper. On it is a phone number. Still a little confused with himself he has some breakfast. By the time he gets back to his room it’s about 9am. He pulls the paper out of his pocket, looks at it and puts it down. He paces a bit and comes to a decision. “Well why not?” he asks himself. “I’ll just check to make sure she got home OK.” He picks up the phone and dials before he losses his nerve.

Danni had slept in until 8am. A luxury for her. She showers and makes some coffee and a bagel. As she is sitting on the couch the phone rings. Thinking it would be Kelly she picks up the phone. “Hello?”
“Umm, Danni?”
“Yes? Who’s this?” she asks.
“It’s um Mark.” He stammers out. “I ..um..just wanted to make sure you got .. um .. home OK last night.”
Danni smiles “Yes thank you for checking.”
Mark asks “I was wondering if you had any plans for today?” Where did that come from he asks himself.
“Actually no I don’t. Did you have something in mind?”
“I thought maybe we could get some lunch or something?” Mark says.
“That would be nice.” Danni replies surprising herself
“OK, How about I come by around 11:00 and we can decide where to go?”
“I’m looking forward to it.” She says with a smile.
She gives Mark her address and they hang up the phone. Danni can’t belive herself. Why did she agree to go out with him? Before she gets herself in a complete panic she calls Kelly.

“Hello?”
“Kelly, it’s Danni.” She says with panic in her voice
“Danni? What’s wrong?”
Mark called me and asked me to go out to lunch.”
Kelly smiles to herself “Is that all?”
“What do you mean is that all? I said yes. What am I going to do?”
“Go to lunch of course.” Kelly replies
Danni started to reply “But…”
“No buts. It’s just lunch. Go Have fun..and call me later.”
Kelly hangs up the before Danni can talk herself out of going.

“Ok,” she says to herself. “It’s just lunch.”

Danni goes into her bedroom to get ready. After going threw her closet she finally decides on a pair of jeans, one of her ‘sinful’ shirts and her ‘ed hardy’ tennis shoes. She takes a look at herself in her mirror. “Well I did tell him I was a jeans and t-shirt girl.” Danni paces her living room wondering why she agreed to this. The knock on her door startled her. She goes to the door and opens it. Standing there is Mark. He was wearing jeans, a dark blue t-shirt and boots. His hair was in a ponytail and he had a black bandana on. Her heart kind of stopped for a second. He smiled and she came back to herself.
“Hi Mark. Please come in.”
“Thanks, you look wonderful.” He says.
“Thanks.” She blushes. “Um…what did you have in mind to go and do today?”
“I’m not sure. What do you feel like doing?” Mark asks
Trying to keep things casual she replies “How about we go to Venice Beach? They have great pizza and we could walk around?”
With a smile she says “Thank sounds fine with me.”
“OK. Do you want to drive or do you want me to?”
“Why don’t you. I get kind of lost on the freeways here.” He admits.
They walk out to Danni’s jeep. During the drive they talk about Glen and Pam a bit. Mark tells her a funny story about rooming with Glen on one of their trips. They find a parking spot and start to walk down the Venice Beach Strip. Venice has a lot of different types of stores. From t-shirt shops to expensive sunglasses stores. There are also small places to eat all along the way. Mark and Danni stop in a couple of stores along the way. Mostly they just talked and started to relax with each other.
As they pass one of the t-shirt shops they notice several wrestling shirts hanging up out side. They were several John Cena’s, a couple of Rey Mysterios and one Undertaker shirt. Mark started to smirk.
In a playful voice he says “Why don’t I get you one?” pointing to ‘The Undertaker’ shirt.
Laughingly Danni replies “That’s sweet, but I already have that one.”
Mark looks at her “Really?”
“Really.” She replies with a smile. “It’s my favorite one.”
“Wait. Favorite one?” he exclaims. “You have more then one?”
Blushing “Actually I have three. I told you I was a fan.” She laughs.
Mark has a stunned look on his face. Danni starts to laugh. Grabbing his hand she gives it a tug. “Come on. There’s a good pizza place down a little ways.”
Mark starts to laugh and goes along with her. As Danni starts to pull her hand away he holds it a little tighter. He looks down at her and smiles. Danni smiles back. They grab some slices of pizza and some sodas. They find a place to sit over in a grassy area.
“So,” Mark says “you know what I do for a living. Tell me about yourself.”
“My life is not all that interesting. I handle customer complaints were I work. Mostly just trying to smooth over small problems that they have.” Danni replies.
“Glen mentioned he got you an autograph for you son.” He prompts her.
She smiles. “That would be Corey. He’s my younger son. I have another son, his name is Kyler. They are my pride and joy.”
Greatly daring he asks “So, is their father involved with them?” hoping he would like the answer. There was something about Danni he was coming to like a great deal.
“Kyler’s dad is still in his life. We divorced when he was 1. Corey’s dad passed away a couple of years ago. It’s really just the three of us.” Danni says with a sad look on her face.
“I’m sorry.” He says lamely.
“It’s OK. I’m used to it now.”
Trying to think of something to say to take the sad look off her face ha asks. “So tell me a little about them.”
“Well let’s see. Kyler is 16 and really into Japanese Anime. He’s actually going to a convention this weekend. Corey is 10 and just loves sports. And of course he is a WWE fan like I am. His favorite wrestler is John Cena.” She smiles at him.
“What? He’s not a fan of ‘The Undertaker’?” He says with mock surprise.
“Sorry to say ‘The Undertaker’ scares him a bit.” She replies with a laugh.
“Huh” Mark says. Just then his phone rings. He takes a look at the caller I.D. It’s Vince. “Sorry darlin’. I have to take this.”
Danni just smiles and listens to the one sided conversation.
“Hey Vince, thanks for calling me back….no, no problems….you don’t need me until Monday right?....Saturday? That’s fine….no just wanted to take a couple of days….staying in LA….yeah, change my flight from tonight to Saturday…no I have everything with me….straight from La to Chicago….great, see you there.” He hangs up the phone.
“Sorry about that.”
“No problem. Work right?” she asks.
“Yeah, um I had my flight changed from tonight to Saturday.”
“So I heard.”
“I was hoping we could spend some more time together.” He says hopefully.
“I would like that.” Danni replies with a smile.
Marks answering smile was more then she could ask for. They walked back to Danni’s jeep hand in hand. As they were almost there they hear a child’s voice.
“Dad, dad, that’s ‘The Undertaker’!”
Mark turns around and smiles. Very soon he has a small crowd around him. Mark signed some autographs and took some pictures with his fans. Watching him, Danni smiles to herself. Mark finally gets away and grabs her hand.
“Come on, let’s get out of here before someone recognizes me.” Laughing she follows.

They drove back to Danni’s place and she invites him inside. Mark comes in and glances at this watch. It read 4:00.
“Dam” he says. “Look Danni I didn’t realize how late it had gotten. I’m sorry to say I need to get back to the hotel and see if they can extend my reservation.”
“That’s alright. I completely understand. We can’t have you out on the streets.” She replies teasingly.
Mark takes her hand. “I’ll call you later if that’s alright.”
“That’s more then OK.” She smiles up into his eyes. Mark leans down to give her a quick kiss goodbye. Neither one of them were prepared for the sparks that flew between them. They break apart a little reluctantly. Smiling down at her he says in a husky voice “I will defiantly be calling you later.” He lets go and walks to his car. Danni watches until the car moves out of her line of sight. She closes her door and leans up against it a huge smile on her face.

Here is Cahpter 4

Danni shakes her head and gets herself a soda out of the kitchen. She passes her phone and notices there is a message. Pushing the play button she hears…”Hey Danni. It’s Kelly. Give me a call when you get this.” She picks up the phone and gives Kelly a call.
“Hello?”
“Hey Kelly, it’s Danni.”
“Did you just get in?”
“Yes” Danni says in a dreamy voice
“Are you alone?”
“What a question. Yes I’m alone. Why?”
“Good. I’m on my way over. I want details when I get there.”
Laughing Danni replies “OK, see you in a few.” And she hangs up the phone.

15 minutes later Kelly knocks on her door.
“Well,” Kelly says, “It looks like you had a good time.”
With a smile Danni tells her about her day with Mark. They talk about other things for a while. The phone rings and Danni picks it up.

“Hello?....hi love….you did?....that’s wonderful….glad you are having a good time….no, just tell grandma I love her….OK, talk to you in couple of days….love you too.” She hangs up the phone.

“So is Corey having a good time?” Kelly asks.
“Yes he is.” Then she says “What am I going to do?”
“About what?” Kelly asks puzzled.
“About Mark. He seems so sweet. Sometime I wish…..” and she lets the rest of the sentence hang there.
“Sis, what do you wish?” Kelly asks her with understanding in her voice.
“You know I love my boys and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for them. But sometimes I wish there was someone for me.” Danni replies

Kelly thinks for a few minutes. She remembers how unhappy Danni had been in the last couple of years of her marriage. It had seemed to her that Danni was just going through the motions. She suspected that Danni had stayed with her late husband for the sake of her boys. Finally she says with a smile. “Well don’t worry about it. You never know what tomorrow will bring.”
“You’re right. I shouldn’t worry about it. Mark will be gone soon anyway. I should just enjoy myself while it lasts.” Danni says trying to convince herself.
Kelly just smiles and gives her a hug. A little while later the phone rings again.
“Hello?....Oh hi….no I’m not working tomorrow…. OK 8 o’clock….see you then….bye.” she hangs up the phone.
From the smile on Danni’s face Kelly guessed who was just on the phone, but she asks anyway. “So who was that?”
“That was Mark. He wanted to know if I was free tomorrow.”
Well, at least you said yes.” Kelly says with a smile. “And on that note I’m going to take off. Give me a call tomorrow. Love you sis.”
“Thanks Kelly. I love you too.” She gives Kelly a hug and then walks her to the door.


Wednesday morning Danni wakes up and grabs some coffee. As she gets ready for the day last nights thoughts intrude on her. She had finally come to the decision to just let things happen with Mark while he was here. She figured she probably wouldn’t be seeing him after he left anyway, so why not have a good time.
At 8 o’clock there’s a knock at her door. She jumps up to answer it. There was Mark. He was dressed the same as yesterday except that his shirt and bandana were a dark green. The color brought out the light green of his eyes. Over his shirt he had on a black leather jacket and in his hand were two motorcycle helmets. Danni invites him and Mark leans down to give her a kiss. She responds more passionately then she can believe. When they break apart Mark has a huge smile on his face.
“What a wonderful greeting.” He says huskily.
Danni just smiles at him and invites him inside.
“I hope you don’t mind. I borrowed a bike from a friend. I thought we could take a ride.” He says hopefully.
“I don’t mind. Let me get my jacket.” Danni walks into her bedroom and comes back out with a black leather jacket with fringe on the back and down the sleeves. Mark just smiles and takes her hand.
They get on the bike and Danni puts her arms around Mark. He squeezes her hand and off they go. They drove up to the mountains. Taking the winding roads and Danni was just happy to be with Mark. From time to time he would give her hand a squeeze. After a while they pulled off into one of the areas set aside for hiking. There were no other vehicles around as it was a week day. As they get off the bike Mark grabs a duffle bag that was strapped to the back of the bike. They follow the trail hand in hand for a while. They find a shady area by a stream that had been following the trail. Out of the bag Mark pulls a blanket. He hands it to Danni. As she spreads out the blanket she sees Mark pull a few things out of the duffle bag. Some ham and cheese, crackers, a couple of cups and last of all a bottle of what she assumes is wine. Mark opens the bottle and hands her a cup. Danni takes a sip and looks up in surprise. It’s ‘Martinells Apple Cider’. Mark notices the surprise on her face.
“Hope you don’t mind. I don’t drink and drive.” He says to her.
“No! Not at all. I just wasn’t sure what to expect.” She replies with a laugh
As they stretch out on the blanket their hands meet. That tingling sensation is still there. They talk about their lives, in between the kisses they share, the small things and sometimes the larger things that made them the people that they are today. They find out that they have a lot in common.

Mark couldn’t believe how well they got along. They liked the same music, foods, and shared the same sense of humor. He felt more comfortable around Danni then anyone else in his life. Mark finally admits to himself that she could be more then just a chance meeting. This could be something really special, but he needed to ask her something first.
“Danni,” he said “can I ask you something?”
“Of course.”
“You obviously knew who I was when we met.” He pauses
“Yes I told you that when we were dancing. I’ve never made it a secret. Why?”
“This is a difficult for me to ask but, when I called and asked you out, did you agree to go out with me because I was ‘The Undertaker’?”
“Honestly? Well you were so sweet on the phone. You sounded so nervous. I actually answered yes before I knew what I had done.” Danni tells him with a smile.
Mark chuckles “Believe it or not, I asked you out before I knew what I was doing too.”
Danni continues “To be honest with you, except for when I saw you with your fans yesterday, I really don’t think of you as “The Undertaker’. Just Mark.”
His smile went right through her to her heart. She couldn’t believe the feelings Mark invoked in her. She hadn’t felt this comfortable with anyone.
Danni puts her hand on the side of his face and pulls him down for a kiss. A while later they reluctantly head back to the bike and drive back to Danni’s place.

When Mark drops Danni off he says to her “Look I’ve got a conference call with Vince at 4. It shouldn’t take too long. Would you mind if I can back later?”
“I defiantly don’t mind. I’ll make us some dinner and pick up a couple of movies if you want.” She smiles.
“Great! I should be back by 6 at the latest.”
With a last kiss he leaves.

Danni goes into her place and decides to give Kelly a call. She knows if she doesn’t Kelly would call her later, maybe during an awkward moment.
“Hello?”
“Hey Kelly, it’s Danni.”
“Hey! How are you?”
“Pretty good.” She says with a smile. She tells Kelly about her day.
Danni knows she sounds like a silly school girl with her first crush but she says “and he’s coming back tonight for dinner and a movie.”
“That’s wonderful. Have a good time. Give me a call tomorrow.”
“Thanks sis. I will.” They hang up the phone.

Danni checks the cupboards in the kitchen . “Well not much here. I better go to the store.” She goes to the store and picks up a couple of things and stops at blockbuster for movies. When she gets back to her place Mark is waiting for her. She glances at her watch, it was only 5:30. She gets out of her jeep as Mark walks towards her.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here.”
“No problem. The call didn’t take as long as I thought. Anyways, I just got here.”
Mark helps her take the bags inside. She turns to him “I hope you like Chinese. It shouldn’t take too long for me to make dinner. Why don’t you go relax.” Mark smiles and heads into the living room.
When she brings dinner out Mark is looking at some of the pictures on her wall.
“Nice looking boys you have.” He turns with a smile.
“Thank you. I think so.” She laughs.
They have dinner and then put in a movie. They sit on the couch and Mark puts his arm around her and pulls her close. Danni snuggles up to him. As they watch the movie the kiss and cuddle. At some point they fall asleep in each others arms.

Chapter 5

Danni wakes up slowly, wondering why her neck was hurting. Then she wakes up completely. Her neck hurts because she was cuddled up with Mark on her couch and her head was on his chest. Her movements must have awakened Mark.
“Good morning darling.” He says in a sleepy voice.
She lifts her head and turns to look at his face.
With a smile she says “Good morning to you too.”
Danni easies herself off the couch, and not so incidentally off Mark, and stretches a bit. Her eyes fall on the clock.
“Oh my God! It’s 7 o’clock! I’m going to be late for work! She exclaims
Mark grabs her hand. “You don’t really have to go do you?”
“I’m afraid so. I have a meeting with one of my customers today.”
“OK, I understand.” He sounded disappointed.
“Listen, if I didn’t have this meeting I would gladly call in sick.” She tells him
“Hey, really it’s OK. Work comes first. Not a big deal.” As he gets himself off the couch he smiles “Why don’t you meet me at my hotel after work?”
“Really?” she asks hopefully
“Really. We’ll have dinner and just relax.”
“Great! Here’s my cell number in case anything changes.” She writes it down and hands it to him. “Let me at lest make you some coffee while I get ready.”
Mark drinks his coffee while Danni gets ready or work. They walk out together and when they get to her Jeep he leans down and gives her a kiss.
“See you tonight.” He says with a smile.
She watches him get on the bike and drive away. Danni sighs to herself and heads to work.

Mark walks into his hotel room with a smile. The last two days have been really good. He picks up his cell phone from the table, where he had left it yesterday, to put Danni’s number in it. He didn’t want to lose it. He had three messages, one form Vince and two from Glen. Vince’s message was just a ‘call me when you get this’. No big deal, he got those from him all the time. The first message from Glen was the same. The second one was different.
‘Mark its Glen. Been trying to get hold of you. Where have you been? Problems at work. Call me.’
Mark punches in Glen’s number.
“Hello?”
“Hey Glen, its Mark.”
“Hey Mark. Where have you been? I left you a couple of messages at home and your cell.”
I uh stayed in La for a couple of days.”
“Does this have anything to do with Danni?”
“Yeah, why?” Mark asks defensively
“Hey! No problem! Just checking on you Bro.”
Glen was Marks best friend, more like a brother. Glen had been there for him when he had hit rock bottom after his divorce.
“Sorry Bro. So what’s up with work?” Mark asks.
“Rey dislocated his shoulder yesterday during practice. Obviously he is not going to be able to wrestle Saturday night.” Glen tells him.
“Just great. So that means Vince has made a change. Let me guess, you and me.”
Glen laughs “Yeah, you got it. Can you meet me tonight so we can go over what’s going to happen?”
Mark really didn’t want to cancel on Danni.
“How about I catch an early flight out tomorrow morning?” he asked hopefully.
“OK. Got plans or something?” Glen asks teasingly.
“Yeah, something like that.”
“Want to enlighten me?”
“No” Mark growls.
“OK, OK. See you tomorrow. I’ll call Vince and run interference for you.”
“Thanks Glen.”
“No problem.” They hang up.
‘Dam’ Mark says to himself. ‘Oh well as I told her this morning work comes first. At least I don’t have to leave tonight.’
Mark decides to go to the gym down the street and work out a bit. Several hours later he gets back to his room. Talking with Glen had reminded of something. He decides to call the front desk and make some special arrangements for tonight. That done he sends Danni a txt, takes a shower and gets ready for her to show up.

Danni’s meeting went well. Her customer was finally happy. As she gets ready to leave work her cell phone goes off.
(txt) ‘miss you. Room 1202. see you soon. M’
Danni starts to blush, but she sends back (txt) ‘miss you too. Leaving work. Be there soon. D’

Danni gets to the hotel, parks and heads to Marks room. When she knocks on the door, he opens it right away, almost like he was standing at the door waiting for her. He smiles and pulls her into a warm hug and an even warmer kiss.

“Put your stuff down on the chair and come with me.” He tells her
Danni puts her stuff and asks “Where are we going? I thought we were going to stay here?”
“We’re not going far.” Was all he said.
Mark takes her hand and guides her to the elevator. They get in and he pushes the top floor button. Danni gives him a ‘what’s going on’ look, but he just smiles. They get off the elevator and he guides her to a door with a “PRIVATE” sign on it. He opens the door with a key card and hands her threw the door. She takes a couple of steps and stops to look around. They are outside on the roof, but not any ordinary roof. This one had plants, flowers and small trees everywhere. It was a small garden. She turns to Mark with wonder in her eyes.
“Glen told about this place. I thought you might like it.” He says shyly
“Oh Mark! It’s beautiful!”
They walk threw the garden hand in hand. Around some strategically placed planters, with flowers and plants, is an open area. There is a small fire pit in the middle. The fire was already started. Around it are a couple of chairs and a bench, all nicely padded for comfort. Off to the right is a small table all ready set up for two. Instead of wine in the iced bucket, as neither one of them drink wine; there are several bottles of beer cooling. Over to the left is a small cabana, the kind you see by the pool.

Mark opens a beer and hands it to Danni, then opens one for himself. They settle on the bench by the fire, Marks arm around Danni’s shoulder and her leaning against him.
“Dinner should be here soon.” He says softly
“I’m not in a hurry.” She replies
They sit that way for a few minutes, just happy to be in each others company.
“Danni, there’s something I have to tell you.”
She starts to pull away “What is it?”
“I need to leave in the morning.”
Her smile starts to fade “OK”. She knew this would happen. ‘How could I possibly think someone as wonderful as Mark would stay interested in me?’ She thinks to herself.

Mark feels her start to pull away from him.
“Danni, Glen called. Rey got hut and Vince needs me. Darlin’ I don’t want to go, but I don’t have a choice. They wanted me to leave tonight, but I told Glen I couldn’t go. I told him I’d leave in the morning. He’s going to cover for me with Vince.”
“Why didn’t you leave when you found out? You could have called and told me you had to go.” She said in a quiet voice.
“Are you kidding? How could I not see you and try to explain?” he pauses “This week, spending time with you, it’s been wonderful.” Mark looks into her eyes “I haven’t felt like this in a very long time. You have made me a very happy man.”
Danni looks into his eyes and sees he is telling her the truth. The joy she feels spreads through her body until it glows out of her eyes. She answers him the only way she could, with a deep passionate kiss.

All of a sudden they heard a buzzing sound. As they break apart Mark chuckles a little. He reaches over to the small table where the hotel phone was buzzing. He pushes the speaker button.
“Yes?” he asks
“Mr. Calaway, your dinner is ready to be brought up.”
“Thank you, send it up.”

Danni blushes and re-arranges some of her clothing. Within a few minutes they hear the waiter bringing his cart over to the dinning table. When the waiter is finished placing everything on the table he turns to Mark.
“Is there anything else that you require sir?”
“No, I have everything I need. Thank you.”
“Very good sir. If you want for anything, please use the phone and let us know.” He takes himself out the way he came in.
Dinner was wonderful. Steak, and all the trimmings. As they have dinner they slip back into the easy conversations they had been enjoying for the past couple of days. They eventually end up back on the bench by the fire. They talk, kiss and explore each others bodies. All of a sudden Mark gets up off the bench. He pulls Danni up with him and then picks her up in his arms.
“Mark,” she says laughing “What are you doing?”
“There is a more comfortable place over here.” He says in a husky voice
He carries her to the cabana. Marks gently puts her down on the lounging cushions and joins her there.

Several hours later Danni is held in Marks embrace. She runs her hand over the muscles of his chest. She levers herself up to look at his face. His eyes are closed and he is wearing a smile.
“Wake up sleepy head.” She says quietly. “It’s getting chilly”
Mark opens his eyes. They were the most intense green she has ever seen. “Well if you’re getting chilly, we can go back to my room.”
They get re-dressed, with lots of touching and kissing. They finally leave their little garden and go back to Mark room.
His skin had gotten chilly, she notices as she runs her hands down his arms.
“Come on.” She says, greatly daring for her “Let me warm you back up.”

Chapter 6

Three weeks have gone by since Mark left for Chicago. Danni talks to him a couple of times each week, usually when he’s in an airport waiting for his next flight. Even though he always sounds tired, Danni’s heart skips a beat whenever he calls. She knows the feelings she has for Mark grows a little more every time she talks to him. Unfortunately, she’s been hurt badly in her past, and is afraid to ask Mark how he really feels.

As Danni is watching TV her phone rings.
“Hello?”
“Hi Danni.”
“Kelly! Are you back from Vegas already?”
“Yeah, long trip sis. I just got off the phone with Pam, she want to have a ‘girls’ night this weekend. You in?”
“I don’t know..”
“Come on, call your mom. You know she’ll watch the boys for you. We need some ‘girl time’.”
“All right.” Danni laughs “I’ll call my mom. When and where?”
“My place, Saturday, 10am. We’ll make it an overnighter like we used to.”
“If there is a problem I’ll let you know.” Danni hangs up the phone.

Danni’s mom was more then willing to watch her boys. Her mom told her she would be up early Saturday morning.

Danni shows up at Kelly’s place about 10am. Pam was already there. They go out for brunch at their favorite Mexican restaurant and order margaritas to start their day. When their drinks show up they toast each other.
“Happiness” all three say at the same time.
“So, how are you and Glen doing?” Kelly asks Pam
“It’s getting pretty serious. Glen’s thinking on getting a place by me so we can be together more often, at least when he’s not traveling.” Pam tells them with a smile.
“So Danni, how’s Mark?” Pam asks her with a sly smile
“He seems OK. I’ve only talked to him a couple of times a week since he left.” Danni replies
“A couple of times a week? That’s pretty good for him.” Pam states
Danni asks her “How do you know that?”
“I’ve traveled with Glen several times this past year, so I’ve spent some time with Mark. He really doesn’t like the phone. I think he has maybe six numbers programmed into it.” Pam pauses “Besides I talk to Glen about every other day and he tells me Mark talks about you.”
Danni gives Pam a ‘you can’t be serious’ look.
“Honestly! Glen and Mark are rooming together on this trip. He tells me Mark talks about you….a lot.”
Danni starts to blush. Kelly notices her blushing and tries to help her out a bit. “So, what does Glen say?”
“Well lets see, as Glen puts it ‘you know that look Mark gets when he’s had a really good match? That’s what he looks like when he talks about Danni.’ And then Glen laughs.” Pam replies with a smile
All three girls laugh a little at that.
“I didn’t know. I mean I know how I feel, but there are all those girls out there, especially when he travels.” Danni says in a quiet voice.
“Danni honey,” Pam says, “ let me tell you what I’ve come to know about Mark. I’ve never seen him take any girls to his room. He would rather get together with his close friends in one of their rooms. There are usually 4-6 of the guys, and if any of their girlfriends or wives are there they are included. They drink, tell stories about each other and just generally joke around and have a good time.”
“Really?” Danni asks in a hopeful voice.
“Honestly. From what Glen has told me, Mark hasn’t even had a date in two years. That is until he met you. Actually, thinking over what Glen has told me recently, I think he’s quite fallin for you. It seems Mark is worried that you would find you didn’t want to wait around for him.”
“That’s crazy! How could I ever find someone who makes me feel the way Mark does?” Danni blurts out.
Pam laughs “Well I guess I can give Glen the good news and he can pass it along.”

They talk of over things much to Danni relief. She had a lot to think about. The rest of the day was spent shopping, joking, and just generally having a good time. The girls returned to Kelly’s and watch a ‘chick flick’ in her den. They have popcorn and a few more drinks. Danni decided to crash out earlier then the other two, so she went into the living room to stretch out on the couch.

The earlier conversation runs through Danni’s head for quite a while. ‘OK, from what Pam said, Mark feels the same way I do. Why don’t I call him for a change and he can see that I really do care about him.’ With her internal struggle better that it had been for weeks, she falls asleep with a smile.

The next morning the girls have some coffee together before they go their separate ways. Danni looks at the clock in her Jeep, it was 9 am. She knew Mark would be awake by now. Making a decision she drives over to the park a few blocks away. She parks and walks over to a bench to sit down. ‘OK’ she says to herself, and she punches in Marks’ number.
“Hello?”
Danni’s heart skips a beat at hearing his voice.
“Hi Mark.”
“Danni? Hey darling, how are you doing?”
“I’m doing fine. I just wanted to call you and um.. hear your voice.” She pauses “Do you know when you are going to be back in LA?”
“I should be there at the end of next week. We’re doing a ‘super show’ with both brands in Anaheim.” He tells her.
“Oh, that far away.” Then she hears Glen in the back ground.
“Hey Bro, who is it?”
To Danni “Hold on a second.” To Glen “It’s Danni.”
“Well?” Glen asks
“She wanted to know when I was going to be back in LA.” Mark tells him
“Did you tell her?” Glen says, you could hear the smile in his voice
“I was, before you walked in.”
With a laugh Glen tells Mark “Well invite her idiot. You know a bunch of us are going in on Wednesday to get together.”
“Thanks Bro.” Back to Danni “As Glen just reminded me, a bunch of us are going to be there next Wednesday. Do you want to meet me there?” Mark asks.

“If it’s OK with you, I can probably get a couple of days off work.”
“If it’s OK? Are you kidding? As soon as I know where we’ll be I’ll let you know.”
“That’s great! And Mark….I miss you very much.”

They hang up

In Marks hotel room
“Well, what did she say?” Glen asks with a smile
“She said she want to meet me in Anaheim.” Mark replies with a stunned look on his face.
“Well you know that ususal group will be there (Paul-big show; Assad-mvp; Matt-hardy). Paul (HHH) told me he, John(cena) and Randy(Orton) will be coming in early too.” Glen tells him.
“Oh great! With everyone there I’ll never get any time alone with Danni.” Mark says with defeat in his voice.
Glen laughs “I have an idea. Let me call the guys and see if they can get their ladies to come with them. That way we can all hang out, and everyone will have their own reason for breaking up the parties early.”
“Seriously? You’d do that?” Mark asks
“I take any chance I can get to spend time with Pam. I can’t have you freaked out now can I? Besides, this way Danni can see what’s she’s getting into by dating you.” Glen starts laughing.
Mark just growls a bit and when Glen laughs harder he throws a pillow at him.

Chapter 7

Danni and Mark talk several times over the next week or so. She made arrangements with her mom to be gone from Wednesday evening to Tuesday. Her mom is of course thrilled to spend time with the boys. Finally THE Wednesday comes around. She puts her bag in the Jeep, takes the boys to school and goes to work. The day seems to drag on. In the afternoon she gets a txt –‘made it to the hotel. Miss you. See you soon. M.’ She sends back to him ‘almost out of work. Miss you too. See you soon. D.’

Danni walks into the hotel and she sees Glen and Pam. As she walks over to them Glen bends over to pick up Pam’s bag. Behind him is Mark. He turns and sees her, his face lights up with a smile. Danni doesn’t seem to be able to control herself. She drops her bag and practically throws herself into his waiting arms. Their meeting was everything she could ask for. He kisses her with passion. It seems like they are the only people in the world.
All of a sudden she hears chuckling behind her. She and Mark break apart and turn to where Glen and Pam are waiting.
“Oh! Hi Glen, Pam. How are you?” Danni asks blushing.
“Almost as good as you are” he replies teasingly.
Pam hits him in the arm. “Glen, you promised me.”
Glen looks down at her “you’re right, I did.”
Glen and Mark pick up the girls bags.
“Mark and I are checked in, let’s get you girls settled before the gang shows up.”
As they get into the elevator Mark turns to Danni “I um hope you don’t mind, but there are several of us that hang out together and um we decided to get together for dinner.”
“I would love to meet your friends.” She tells him. “Besides, as long as I’m with you it doesn’t matter what we do.”
They get out of the elevator and head down the hallway.
“All of us are on this hallway. That way we don’t have far to stumble when we’re done for the night.” Glen tells the girls laughing.
“Hey Glen, What time did Paul say he and Stephanie were getting in?” Mark asks.
“I think he said around 5. most everyone should be here by 6, so we can meet down stairs about 6:30. That gives us a couple of hours to get re-acquainted.” Glen laughs.
Danni says with a smile “I think we can be ready by then.”
Glen and Pam head down the hallway as Mark opens the door to their room for Danni.
“I’m sorry about Glen.” He says.
“What could you be sorry about? If your best friend can’t tease you who can? Besides, it’s not as if we didn’t give him ammunition down there.” She replies laughing.
Mark chuckles “You’re right.” Then he pulls her into his arms. “I’ve missed you.”
Danni runs her hand over his chest. “Oh Mark, I’ve missed you too!” and she shows him just how much.

Mark and Danni wander down to the dinning area about 6:45. They stop at the hostess and Mark tells her they are with the Jacobs party.
“Very good sir, this way.” She shows them to a private room in the back.
“Ready darling?” he asks her
“As ready as I can be.” She says nervously.
They walk in and several people are already there.

“Hey Mark! Glad you made it!” Over walks Paul (HHH) and Stephanie. Mark and Paul give each other a ‘guy hug’. Mark then gives one to Stephanie.
“You look great!” Stephanie says to him. “It’s been way too long.”
“You know how it is. Our paths just don’t cross each other enough.” Mark tells her.
“Paul, Stephanie, this is Danni.” He introduces her with a smile.
“I’ve heard a lot about you. Glad to finally meet you.” Paul says
“I’m glad to meet you too.” Danni replies shyly
Stephanie says to her “Don’t mind Paul, he’s just giving Mark a hard time.” She gives Paul a shove “Why don’t you and Mark get us some drinks?”
Stephanie steers Danni over to the side. “Danni, I just want you to know, we are very glad that Mark has found someone. He’s a very special friend to us.”
“I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. I was a little worried about what everyone would think.” Danni admits to her.
Stephanie smiles “Let me tell you something else. Everyone that’s here tonight is a friend of Marks. Just relax and enjoy yourself.”
“Seriously?” Danni asks
“I’m very serious.” Stephanie tells her with a smile.
“Thank you for telling me.” Danni smiles
Just then Mark and Paul walk over with their drinks. Within the next half hour Danni meets Marks friends. By the time dinner is almost over she feels relaxed enough to start joking around with them. As she watches Mark through the evening she could see him relaxing and enjoying himself. These guys really enjoy each others company. As the evening wears down she and Mark say goodnight.
“Wait a minute,” Paul says “Steph and I are ready too.”
So she, Mark, Glen, Pam, Paul, and Stephanie head back to their rooms together. When they get off the elevator Stephanie says to Danni and Pam. “Since the guys will be at the gym in the morning lets’ have a girls brunch. 9:00 meet us in the dinning room.” And she gives each of them a hug.

“So darlin’, did you have a good time? Mark asks her as they get into their room.
She laughs “You’re friends are great. I’m glad you wanted me to meet them.”
“Just wait.” He says with a smirk “Everyone was tired from traveling tonight.”
“I’m looking forward to it.” And the best part was she really meant it.

Danni awakens to hear the shower running. She stretches and puts on some shorts and a tank top. She then makes some coffee in the little coffee maker. Pretty soon Mark walks out of the bathroom wearing nothing but his long hair and a towel wrapped around his waist.
“Something smells good.” He says referring to the coffee.
I thought you might want some before you leave, but if you are going to continue to walk around like that you might not make it to the gym.” She says laughing.
He look at her with a smirk “I have a little time.”
She glances at the clock, it was almost 8. “Mark, Glen will be here soon.”
“Oh alright, but you owe me.”
“As soon as you get back sweetheart.”
Mark rummages around in a drawer and pulls out some shorts and a tank top. He goes back into the bathroom to finish getting ready.
Within 10 minutes there’s a knock on the door.
“I’ll get it.” She tells him
Glen was there in shorts and a tank top. She could defiantly see what had first brought him to Pam’s attention.
“Moring Glen, come on in, Mark should be ready in a minute.”
Glen leans down and gives her a hug “Morning Danni, thanks.”
As Glen walks in, Marks comes out of the bathroom. “Morning Bro, just let me grab my bag.” He gives Danni a kiss and walks out with Glen.

Danni is nervous as she gets herself ready for the day, but she finds she’s really looking forward to getting to know the other women. As she picks up her room card there is a knock at the door. She walks over thinking ‘who could that be?’ Pam and Stephanie are waiting for her.
“We thought you might like to go down with us.” Pam says with an understanding smile.
“Thanks, I’m sorry to say I’m still a little nervous.” She admits
Pam and Stephanie laugh a little “That’s why we’re here. Just be yourself.” Pam tells her.

The three of them go down to the dinning area. The other women are all ready there. They have taken over a large table with a view of one of the pools. They walk over and Stephanie makes the re-introductions.
“Hi girls, I know you all meet Danni last night, but what with all the noise and general chaos those guys create, I wanted to re-introduce you.” The girls all laugh.
“So, starting over here on the right, this is Julie, Matt’s(hardy) girlfriend, Jasmine, Assad’s(mvp) wife, Kelly, the other Paul’s(big show) girlfriend, Sam, Randy’s(Orton) wife, and Sally, John’s(cena) fiancé.” Each of the girls give Danni a smile.
The three girls sit down at the table. All of them start to talk and catch up with each others lives.
Danni asks Stephanie “Don’t you see each other all the time?”
“Oh no” Stephanie laughs. “Usually only a couple of time a year do all of us get together. Most of us don’t travel with the guys that often. Take me for instance. Paul and I have two girls and I’m usually at head quarters working. I think Mark and Glen are the only ones that even live in the same state.”
The girls include Danni in the conversations. They ask her questions and get to know her better. Danni starts to relax and enjoy herself. Then the stories come out, most of them were pretty funny, about themselves and their guys. Soon everyone is laughing and joking. Danni learns a lot about the people that call Mark a good friend. The hours fly by and she feels she can, tentatively at least, call each of these women a friend.

Danni is the first to hear the commotion that started in the lobby. She turns to look and sees a small crowd gathering. “I wonder what’s going on?” she says out loud
The rest of the girls look in the same direction and start to giggle.
“Seems like the guys are back.” Jasmine says laughing
Sooner then she thought would happen, the guys start walking over to where they are. Danni had to admit, they were a pretty impressive sight. All of them were fine looking men, but as soon as her eyes meet Marks, he is all she can see. He walks over and leans down to give her a kiss hello. Sparks fly between them. She didn’t see the ‘I told you she really cares for him’ look Pam gave Stephanie.
Stephanie smiles at Pam and then starts to laugh, “You’d think you guys would at least take a shower before you show up where ladies are present.”
“Ladies?” Paul says teasingly ”All I see are a bunch of gossiping girls.”
“Gossiping girls? I’ll give everyone something to gossip about.” Stephanie replies. She jumps up hits him in the stomach. Everyone starts laughing.
“Well,” Assad says “I don’t know about the rest of you, but that wasn’t the reception I was looking for. I’m going to go get cleaned up for the beautiful company we keep.” Everyone laughs and the guys decide to take his advice and head back to their rooms.
The girls stay a bit longer to, as Stephanie put it, give them a chance to make a better impression on us ladies. Finally they head back to their rooms, laughing and joking as they go.
When Danni goes into her room, there was Mark, fresh from his shower and looking incredible with just a towel wrapped around his waist. He gives her a ‘come on over here’ look.
“Well, I thought I told you earlier if you were going to walk around like that you weren’t going to be going anywhere.” She says to him.
He pulls her into a heated embrace and whispers in her ear “I didn’t have any plans.”

An hours or so later Danni makes a suggestion. “Why don’t we go down to the jacuzzi? You can soak your muscles from your work out this morning. There shouldn’t be too many people there now.” They put on their swimsuits and head down stairs. As luck would have it the jacuzzi was empty. As they settle in the wonderfully hot water Danni says “come over here.”
Mark response was a smirk “and I thought I was supposed to relax.”
She laughs at him. “I meant turn your back to me and I’ll give you a message silly.”
After Mark got settled and Danni started rubbing his shoulders he asks “So, how did your brunch with the girls go?”
“It was so much fun! They are a great group. I can see why all of you hang out together.”
“So, what did you talk about?” he asks shyly
“Oh, mostly about our lives.”
“Mostly?”
“Well of course you guys came up.”
“Really?”
“Yes really.” She says playfully hitting him on the shoulder. Then “You know, each and everyone of them truly loves their man.”
She could feel him tensing a little, like he was struggling with himself. He pulls away and turns around. He looks into her eyes and asks “Everyone?”
She could read the question in his eyes and voice. “Yes Mark, everyone.”
He pulls her onto his lap and puts his arms around her as she puts hers around his neck.
“Danni, what about you?”
She look deeply into his eyes “Yes Mark, even me.” She pauses “I love you.” She whispers.
His eyes turn an intense green “I love you too.” He whispers.
For the next few minutes the heat of the jacuzzi is nothing compared to what they feel for each other. When they finally break apart they hear a throat clearing. They turn as one to see who was there.
“Hey Bro, public place.” Glen laughs.
Mark growls at him and splashes him with water. Pam and Danni both hit their guy.
“Stop it both of you.” Danni laughs. “come on in, Mark will behave.”
“Me? What about Glen?”
“Oh, he’ll behave too.” Pam says laughing “Won’t you?”
“Oh alright.” Glen tells her with a smirk.
Danni resumes messaging Marks shoulders as Glen and Pam get settled.
“So what’s on the agenda for the rest of the day?” Pam asks.
“Spending time with you. Oh, Randy mentioned a poker game tonight after dinner?” Glen tells her hopefully.
Teasingly Pam says “you have my permission to go.”
“Gee, thanks mom.” And Glen splashes her.
“Mark, you going to join us?”
“I don’t think so.” He says.
“Why not?” Danni asks him
“The um ‘talk’ we were having.” He says blushing.
“Sweetheart, what was said already isn’t going to change. If you want to go, go. I won’t mind. You don’t get to see some of your friends very often.” Danni tells him
Marks turns his head to look at her “Are you serious?”
Softly she says “Mark, I don’t want you to change who you are, I just want to share your life.” Then she laughs “Besides if we leave now we can finish our um ‘talk’ before your game.”
The speed with which Mark got out of the jacuzzi made her laugh, but she put her hand in his and let him lead her back to their room.

Once they are back in their room Mark turns to her “Darlin, are you sure? I mean about what you said?”
“Which part?” she says teasingly. “That I don’t want you to change, that I want to share your life with you, or…. That I love you?”
He pulls her into his arms “Um all three?” he says teasingly
“Yes. Completely.” She smiles up into his eyes. “I know it might not be easy, we will have stuff to work out, but I love you and I think that’s worth anything.”
“Danni, you know I travel a lot, and I’m sure there will be things that will need to be worked out, but knowing you’ll be there for me, it would mean the world to me.” He says seriously. “I love you.”

Chapter 8

When Mark showed up at Randy’s room later that night Paul, Glen and John were already there. He grabbed a beer and went over to the window. The guys were still setting up for the game. Glen noticed his distracted look and walked over to him.
“Mark, are you OK?”
“Yeah” he replies absently
“Hey, it’s me. What’s going on?”
He turns to Glen “Danni….”
“Bro, what happened?”
“She told me she loves me.”
“OK….Do you love her?” Glen already knows the answer, but he knew Mark needed to say it.
“Yeah, I do”
“Did you tell her that?”
“Yeah, I did.”
“So? What’s the problem?”
“What if……”
Glen knew him like no one else, he could guess what was going on in Marks head. He took a quick look over his shoulder. The other guys were still setting up.
“Mark, I’ve seen the way Danni looks at you. She see’s the real you. You guys fit together.” Glen pauses “Don’t stress over your past man, enjoy what you have found.”
Mark starts to chuckle softly “Boy does that sound familiar.”
Glen chuckles back “It should. It’s that same advice you gave me about Pam.”
Glen sees the worry start to leave Mark’s eyes.
“Thanks Bro.” Mark tells him
“Anytime.”
“Hey you guys gonna play or what? I promised Sally it wouldn’t be a late night.” John said to them.
Glen gives Mark a ‘you OK?’ look. Mark gives him a slight nod.
“Well, get ready to lose then.” Glen laughs
Mark takes a deep breath. Talking to Glen had helped. Then he laughs a little at himself. Glen was right. He and Danni fit together, it felt right. With a lighter heart, he joins his friends at the table.
The guys joke and laugh the evening away. About 11 o’clock John says “Dam! Look at the time. I gotta go!.” The rest of the guys tease him a bit, but they pack it up and head back to their rooms.

Danni was asleep when he got back to the room. As he was getting ready for bed he hears a sleepy voice. “Hi sweetheart, did you have a fun?”
“Hi darlin. Yeah I did, but I didn’t do too well.” He chuckles “Seems my mind was on other things tonight.”
“You sound tired. Come on in here and get some rest.” She holds up the covers for him and he gets into bed. Danni gives him a kiss and snuggles up next to him.

Danni wakes up first Friday morning. She smiles as she looks at Mark sleeping. She gets up and makes some coffee. While it’s brewing she goes over to wake him up. Danni smoothes some hair off his face and gently caresses his check. His gorgeous green eyes open and he smiles. Danni’s heart skips beat, it seems to do that a lot lately. “morning sleepyhead.” She says to him.
“Morning darling.” He sits up to give her a kiss.
“Are you going to the gym this morning?”
“Yeah, Glen and I are working on a couple of moves. Do you mind?”
“Of course not.” She tells him “this might be a sort of vacation, but it’s a working one for you.”
“That’s true.” He chuckles
“So, go get ready. Try not to get too beat up.” She laughs. “I’ll be here when you get back.”

After Mark leaves Danni decides to go down and have some breakfast. While she’s eating Pam comes in and waves to her. “Mind if I join you?”
“Not at all.” Danni tells her “Have a seat.”
“So, what are your plans for the day? Some of us are going shopping. What to come?” Pam asks her
“No. I think I’ll just relax by the pool until Mark gets back.”
“You know, the rest of the um co-workers will start to arrive tomorrow. It will get pretty hectic then.” Pam says with a sigh
Danni thinks for a few minutes. She motions to the patio outside. “Well, why don’t we get everyone together tonight? We can use the patio. It’s pretty private. Maybe they can move some benches out there or something.”
“Oh that sound great! I’ll pass the word along.”
“Do you think so? I mean I just want Mark to have a good time.”
“Danni, I think as long as you’re here he will.”
Danni blushes a little “Would you mind coming with me to set it up? I’m not sure who to talk to.”
“Sure, let’s go.” Pam walks with Danni over to the front desk.
“Good morning. How can I help you?” the gentleman behind the desk asks them.
“I would um like to arrange for a private party for tonight.” Danni tells him.
“May I please see your room card?” he asks
“Oh! Of course.” She hands it to him.
He runs the card through the computer. “This room is under a corporate card. One moment please.” He walks over to the manager.
Just them Stephanie walks up to them. “Hi Pam, Danni. How are you doing?”
Danni looks a bit nervous “I’m um not sure. I was trying to set up a get together for all of us, but it seems the room is on a corporate card.”
“All the rooms are.” Stephanie replies.
Just then the manager notices who had walked up. “Good morning Mrs. Levesque.”
“Good morning. Is there and issue here?” Stephanie asks him
“No not at all. Just standard procedure with a corporate card.” The manager replies
“Wonderful. Please assist Danni with whatever she wishes to set up.”
“Yes Mrs. Levesque”
“Danni, what time and where?” Stephanie asks
“Oh, I was thinking about 7, in the patio, if it’s available.” She looks at the manager
“Yes mam, That would be fine.”
“Great! See you tonight. Pam are you ready to go?”
Pam look at Danni. Danni smiles and tells her “ Go ahead. I’ll see you tonight.” Stephanie and Pam both give her a hug. “See you tonight” Pam says

Danni finishes making arrangements with the manager. ‘Funny how nice he was after he recognized Stephanie.’ She smiles to herself. She goes to the room to change into her swimsuit and left Mark a note for when he gets back. Danni goes down to the pool and swims a few laps. When she’s done she lays out on one of the lounge chairs. Danni closes her eyes to relax and listens to the people around her. Well actually it was hard not to listen to a couple of women that were sitting close to her. They were making comments about the men that were at the pool.
“Check out the one over by the stairs.” “Nice, look at that one by the diving board.” “OMG check the one that just walked out.” “Wow! Defiantly beefcake!” “Wait, he’s walking this way.”
All of a sudden Danni was in a shadow. She opened her eyes to see Mark standing over her. Danni smiles ‘defiantly beefcake’ she laughs to herself.
“Hi there. Did you have a good workout?”
Mark smirks “Mostly. Glen threw me into a turn buckle at full speed. My shoulder hurts a bit.” He says as he sits down on the lounge with her.
“In that case, why don’t we go to the Jacuzzi and see if we can loosen you up a bit?”
Leaning down for a kiss he says “It’s not that bad, but I’d appreciate it darling.”
“It’s to my advantage that you feel your best.” She laughs “Besides, I’ll take any excuse to run my hands over you.”
“Well in that case….” Mark stands up pulling Danni with him. All of a sudden he picks her up in his arms. “Two can play the ‘any excuse’ game.” Laughing her carries her over to the Jacuzzi.
As they pass the two women Danni hears one of them say “Boy is she lucky.”
‘yes I am’ she thinks to herself.
They get settled in the Jacuzzi and Danni starts messaging his shoulders. After a while she feels Mark start to relax. “That feels wonderful. Don’t stop.”
“I wasn’t planning on it.” She says softly. They have the place to themselves for a while, so they are just enjoying being with each other. A while later Paul and Matt walk up.
“Hey guys. Is this a private party or can anyone join?” Matt says teasingly
Mark starts to tense up. Danni whispers in his ear “He’s just teasing you, relax.”
“Hi Matt, Paul. If you think two more hulking brutes can fit come on in. Beside, if it was private I would have dragged him off to our room.” Danni teases back.
All three guys laugh a bit at that. The guys get settled and Danni asks “So, where are Stephanie and Julie?”
“They’re still shopping.” Paul groans. “Hey Danni, Steph told me you wanted to have a get together for tonight.”
Mark turns to her with a surprised ‘what get together’ look.
“Pam told me this morning that your um co-workers would start to get here tomorrow. I sort of thought you guys might like to get together before the chaos hits.”
“Sounds good to me. Where and when?” Matt says
“About 7 at the patio by the restaurant.” She turns to Mark “I hope you don’t mind.”
“Why would I mind? It just surprised me a bit, that’s all.” Mark tells her
“Well, you did tell me you guys got here early to spend some time together. I just wanted you to have a good time.” She tells him softly
Mark was still looking at her like he couldn’t believe what she had said. “That’s one of the nicest things anyone has done for me in….a while.” He says softly as he leans in to give her a kiss.
Throat clearing in the background. “Hey Danni, looks like you need to, how’d you put it? Drag him off to your room.” Paul laughs and Matt joins him.
Mark turns around, takes a second to realize he was being teased, then with a growl, splashes both of them.
Laughing Danni says “I think you might be right. Looks like he’s had enough….hot water for a while.”
That just starts Paul and Matt off again. Danni gets out of the Jacuzzi and holds out her hand to Mark “come on, I can finish your….message in private.”
Mark smirks but takes her hand and they head back to their room.

They spend the rest of the afternoon and early evening just relaxing with each other. They have dinner in their room and then head down to the patio about 7. Several of the couples were already there when they walk in. Paul, Stephanie, Glen, Pam and Matt were talking over to one side. Mark and Danni walk up behind Paul while he was talking.
“I’m telling you, this one is good for him. Matt said something stupid and you should have seen the pissed off look he had. She whispered something to him and, I don’t know, but he seemed to mellow a bit.”
Just then Glen noticed Mark standing behind Paul. He couldn’t help himself, he started laughing.
Paul gives him a quizzical look “What’s so funny?”
Glen just gives him a look that says ‘look behind you’.
Paul freezes, then slowly turns around.
“Hey Mark, Danni. I um didn’t see you guys walk in.” he stammers
“Obviously, or you wouldn’t have been talking about me.” Mark smirks. Danni puts her arm around his waist and he looks down at her, “But as I happen to agree with you, I’ll let it pass.”
Paul gets a bit of a stunned look on his face. Before anyone else could say anything Danni jumps in “Mark, would you be a sweetheart and get me a drink?”
“Sure darling.”
“Alright you guys, you’ve had your fun.” Danni smiles at them.
Mark walks back with a couple of beers. Glen just starts laughing again.
Paul looks at him “alright, now what’s so funny?”
Glen just roars, he points to Paul “Your face (laughs) when Mark (laughs) was behind you (laughs again) too priceless.”
Everyone except Paul starts to laugh too.
“You should have seen his face when he turned around.” Mark laughs. That of course sent Glen off again.
They finally all settle down a bit. As the evening progresses the conversations quiet down. They all end up sprawled on the padded benches and lounge chairs that had been setup in a loose circle. Late in the evening Paul finally says “This was a great idea. We needed this.”
Matt, who was slightly drunk chimes in “Definitely. I think we should keep her.” As he points a beer bottle in Danni’s direction.
Mark throws a bottle cap at him “What do you mean ‘we’?” then he chuckles. At that point the group starts breaking up. Danni and Mark are the last to leave.
“Thank you.” He whispers in her ear.

Hi, sorry computer issues.
Any why here are a couple of chapters for you


Chapter 9

Danni is awakened with a kiss on her neck and a soft “Mornin darling” in her ear.
“Good morning to you too” she says sleepily as she runs her hand down the arm that’s wrapped around her. She looks at the clock and sighs softy “Aren’t you going to the gym this morning?” she asks as he kisses her neck again.
“No, Vince is coming in this morning. I have a meeting at 10 with him.”
“Does that mean we can have breakfast tighter?” she asks hopefully
“Well yes, but I had something else in mind.” He says softly into her ear.

An hour or so later they go down to the restaurant to have breakfast. Some of the other guys are there, but Mark steers her to a quite table in the back.
“I’m sorry, but I’m going to be pretty busy today.” Mark tells her
“That’s alright. Will you be free for dinner?”
Mark smirks “That depends on how the boss feels, but I’ll do my best.”
Danni smiles at him “Well maybe I can get Pam to go shopping with me for the day.”
Laughing Mark says “From what Glen tells me, that shouldn’t be a problem.”
“You’re probably right.” Danni laughs back
Mark takes a look around the room and starts to chuckle softly.
“What?” Danni asks
“Seems our fearless leader has showed up” and motions for Danni to turn around.
Danni turns and sees a man talking to Glen and Pam. Glen points over in their direction. The man turns around, it’s Vince. He looks at Mark, says something to Glen and walks over to their table.
“Hi Mark. It’s good to see you.”
“Same here. Vince this is Danni.” Mark says by way of introduction
Vince extends his hand to her. Danni takes it and then kisses the back of her hand. “A very great pleasure I assure you.”
Danni blushes “Thank you Mr. McMahan.”
“Vince please. Among my little family I’m just Vince.” He smiles “I’ve heard quite a bit about you already.”
“Oh! Really?” Danni starts to stammer “I um How? I mean…”
Vince smiles still holding her hand “Steph of course.”
“That’s enough you old dog.” Mark says with a smirk and removes Vince’s hand from Danni’s.
With a pout Vince says “Mark, I’m hurt.”
“Well, that’s your problem.” Mark tells him chuckling
Vince smiles and looks at his watch “Anyway, meeting in 15.” He tells Mark. Turning to Danni “I hope to see you later.” And he walks away.
“Well, that was obviously Vince, and that means my day is starting.” He leans across the table to give Danni a kiss. “I’ll see you later darling.”
“OK” Danni smiles at him and turns to watch him walk away. As he gets to Glens table he stops, talks to him and Glen gets up. They both walk out the restaurant door together. With a sigh Danni gets up and walks over to Pam.
“Hi Pam.”
Hey Danni. So I see you meet Vince.” Pam laughs softly.
Blushing “Yeah, I did. Hey, do you have any plans for today?”
“No, why?”
“Well since they will be busy for most of the day I though we could go shopping.”
“Ah shopping, my favorite pastime.” Pam giggles “Sure, let’s go.”

The two of them go to the mall and start to wander through the stores. Pam picks up things here and there. They get some lunch at the food court, ‘for fuel’ as Pam put it.
Wandering through the other half of the mall they go into an ‘Affliction” store. Rummaging through the racks Danni finds a shirt she thinks Mark would like.
“Hey Pam, what size does Glen wear?”
“Why?”
“Well Glen and Mark seem about the same size.”
“That depends.” Pam says absently
“On what?” Danni asks her puzzled
“Do you want it comfy or to show off his muscles.” Pam tells her laughing

Pam looks at the shirt Danni had picked out. It was a silvery/gray with Celtic snakes down each side and a Celtic cross on the back. Then laughs “defiantly to show off his muscles. Get a double X.”
They finish up their shopping and head back to the hotel. When they go into the lobby there is a crowd of people.
Laughing Pam says “Looks like the ‘fans’ found out where the WWE is staying.”
Danni had to laugh at that. They skirt the crowd and make it to the elevator. When they get out on their floor there are a couple of big security guards on their hallway.
“Good afternoon ladies. Can I help you?” one of the guards asks them.
“Pam just sighs and hands him her room key. The security guard scans it through his portable scanner. “Very good, thank you.” he says and hands it back to Pam. He then looks t Danni.
“Oh, sorry.” Danni says and hands him her room key, he scans it as well. “Thank you, have a nice day.” And steps aside so they can pass.
“Sorry, I forgot to warn you about that.” Pam says motioning to the guards.
“Is it really necessary?” Danni asks her.
“I’m not sure how necessary, but it’s one of Vince’s ideas. Glen told me he does it so everyone has some privacy.”
“Wow, Vince really cares about them doesn’t he?”
“Well it’s not only for the guys, the ‘Divas’ are on this hallway too. Most of them are pretty nice.” Pam thinks as they walk down the hall. “Look, there something we need to talk about, why don’t you come to my room.”
“Alright.” When they get into Pam’s room Danni says “OK what do you need to tell me.”
Pam looks at Danni “Well, as I said most of the ‘Divas’ are pretty nice but…”
“But what? Pam just tell me.”
“There is one you should probably um stay away from.”
“OK, but why?”
Pam hesitates.
“Just tell me.”
“OK, Glen told me that um Rosa Mendes/ her real name is Melina, she tried to….’comfort’ Mark after his divorce.”
“Tried to?”
“Seems he wasn’t very receptive.” Pam tells her
“Danni laughs a little “Is that all? I can deal with that.”
In a concerned voice Pam says “Just be careful. I’ve heard she has a mean streak.”
“Thanks for telling me.” Danni says and gives her a hug. “But I’m not going to hide the way I feel about Mark.”
Just then the door opens and Glen walks in. Pam turns and smiles at him. ”Hello there sexy. I hope this means you’re done for the day.”
Glen gives her a kiss “For now. We were good little boys and girls so Vince let us go.” He chuckles
Pam turns to Danni and sees her eyes light up. Pam tells her laughing “Well, get going. Where one of these two are, the other usually isn’t far behind.”
Blushing a little Danni grabs her shopping bag, gives them both a hug and goes out the door. Danni sees Mark talking to Paul down the hall. She gets his attention and motions to the room. He nods and she goes in. A few minutes later Mark walks through the door.
“Hi sweetheart. How was your day?” She asks as she walks into his embrace.
“Long.” He says with a smirk. They sit on the couch. “You know. Some of these new guys thin they know everything.”
“So, what happened?”
“Those guys from ‘NEXUS’. They think just because Vince has them working with John they are something special.” He gets a slightly evil grin on his face “Paul and I had a little….discussion with them today.”
“Oh! Should I feel sorry for them?” she laughs
“No, but I think they got the hint.” Then he sighs “and my day isn’t over yet. Vince wants a meeting with his ‘generals’ at 5:30.” He tells her “It shouldn’t take too long, but then there’s dinner. At least that’s pretty fun.” He notices Danni smile going away.
“Danni, Vince is including our um partners at the dinner. Will you meet me where we had dinner Wednesday about 6:30?”
“Of course, but who’s going to be there?”
He laughs “Me, Glen, Paul, Show, Randy, John, their partners and Vince. The only one you haven’t met yet is Chris (Jericho).
Danni’s smile returns “Alright then, I’ll be there.”
“Good. I would have figured a way out of it if you didn’t want to come.” He tells her
“Are you serious?” she asks him
“Very. Vince could get along without me for one dinner.”
“Mark, I don’t know what to say…” so she showed him how special he had made her feel.

Danni went down to the dinning room about 6:30. The door to the private room was closed, so she waited around, hoping one of the other women would show up.
“Excuse me, but what are you doing here?” she hears from behind her.
Startled she turned around “Oh, I was waiting for someone.”
“Who could someone like you be waiting for?” this woman said in a nasty voice.
“Not that it’s any of your concern, but I’m waiting for my boyfriend.” She snapped back.
“Here? Who could you possibly know in that room?” the woman says pointing to the closed door.
Stephanie had walked up behind this woman “Well for one, she knows me Melina. For another, Danni was invited, unlike you.” Stephanie snapped at her.
The door opened and Vince, Paul and Mark walk out a bit. Stephanie steers Danni away. “Come on the guys are waiting for us.” When they get out of earshot “Watch that one.”
“Thanks, I’ve already been warned.” Danni tells her.
Stephanie glances back in time to see the spiteful look on Melina’s face as Mark gives Danni a kiss. ‘I think I’d better keep an eye on her myself’ Stephanie thinks.

As Mark told her it would be, dinner was fun. The only one’s she didn’t really know were Vince and Chris, but they seemed to accept the fact of her being there without a problem. It was the same easy atmosphere they had been enjoying. They laughed and joked around.
When Randy teased Mark about Matt’s ‘we should keep her’ comment form last night, Mark growled a bit, then threw a roll at him and smirked when it hit him. Vince had been paying attention to Mark and Danni, without seeming to, for most of the dinner. When Mark didn’t get mad at Randy teasing him, but threw a roll at him instead, he was a bit surprised. He nudged Stephanie and nodded in their direction.
Stephanie leans over and whispers to him “I told you dad, she makes him happy.”
Vince smiled at her ‘So you did. I was just surprised I guess.”
Very soon after that Vince stands up to get everyone’s attention. It didn’t take long. “Alright boys and girls, we have an early day tomorrow. The ring should be set up by 9:00am, so I want you at the arena by 8:30.”
Groans all around the room follow that comment, but they break up the dinner and head back to their rooms.

The next morning Danni is awakened by the shower, again. She looked at the clock, it read 7:00. She laid back down. After a while Mark came out in shorts and a tank top. He notices that she’s awake. “Sorry Danni. I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“That’s OK. At least this way I can say goodbye.”
Mark started rummaging around in the dresser drawers, pulling stuff out and putting it into his ever present bag.
“Can I help?” Danni asks him
“You haven’t seen my ring boots have you?”
“I think they are under the table.”
He walks over “Yeah, thanks.” He picks up the ‘Affliction” bag from the chair. “What’s this?”
“Oh! I got that for you yesterday.”
He pulls out the shirt and smiles. Walking across the room, shirt in hand “Thank you, I really like it.” And gives her a kiss.
“So, when do you think you’ll be back today?”
Probably about 2. You have any plans today?”
“No, I thought I’d just relax until you get back.”
With a smile Mark tells her “Then I’ll do my best to get back early.” He looks at the clock. “Dam! Sorry, I gotta go. See you later.” With a last kiss he was out the door.

Danni went back to sleep for a while. When she woke up for the second time it was 9am. She made some coffee and straightened up the room a bit. Looking out the window Danni decided to sit outside for a while. Grabbing a magazine she heads down to get some more coffee and a bagel from the dinning room. Settling herself out in the patio, she starts to read. About a half hour later she hears “Good morning Danni”
Startled she looks up. “Morning Stephanie. Care to join me?”
“Thanks.” Stephanie signals a waiter for more coffee and settles herself at the table. “So, how are you doing?”
“Pretty good. I miss my boys, but it’s been such a fun time.” Danni tells her
“I know how you feel. I miss the girls too.” Stephanie gets a thoughtful look and sighs softly.
“Stephanie, do you have something you want to say to me?”
“How could you tell?” she asks Danni surprised.
“You got that look.”
“Well yes, actually my dad wanted me to talk to you.”
“Vince? What about?” Danni said wondering if she had done something wrong.
“The show tomorrow. How do I put this…”
“Just tell me.”
“OK, you know Mark as ‘The Undertaker’ is one of our, I mean WWE’s biggest draws.”
Danni laughs “Stephanie I’ve been a fan for years.”
“I know.” Stephanie laughs “It’s just that Mark needs a certain….amount of time to get into character. He usually shows up and….well goes off by himself for a while.”
Danni smiles at her “I understand.”
“You do?”
“Vince doesn’t want me to go to the arena with him right? He thinks I might….distract him?”
“Yes” Stephanie tells her with relief in her voice.
“Don’t worry. This is his job. Mark loves this too much for me to….want to distract him.”
Stephanie sighs “I thought you would understand. So, that’s settled.” They both laugh a bit. Stephanie fishes through her purse and hands Danni a pass. “That’s for the show. We girls are in one of the luxury boxes.”
“Cool, thanks! The closest I’ve been is up in the rafters.”
“Really?” Stephanie replies
“Yeah, I took Corey, my youngest, to Summerslam. He wanted to watch John beat up the ‘NEXUS’.” Danni laughs.
“They are annoying aren’t they?” Stephanie smiles
They talk for a while longer and then go their separate ways.
Danni decided to take a walk around the hotel, and then she headed back to the room to wait for Mark. After pushing her way through the crowd in the lobby and once again showing her room key to security guards she made it back to the room about 1:30. When she gets in she sees Mark sprawled on the couch, one leg over the end. It looked like he was asleep. As the door closes he opens his eyes and smiles. “Hi darling.”
“Hi yourself. You look beat sweetheart.” She tells him.
“I’m not that tired. I was just relaxing a bit. Would you mind if we get out of here for a while?” he asks.
“No, of course not. But does Vince need you anymore to day?” she asks concerned
“Actually no. Not until tomorrow.” He says smiling “I thought we could take a ride. One of my ‘perks’ showed up today.”
With a sigh Danni asks “Do we have to go through the lobby?”
Chuckling Mark replies “No darling. There’s a back way to the garage.”
Danni grabs their jackets and Mark picks up his bag and the head out ‘the back way’, which included more security and a whole lot of stairs. They made it to the garage seeing no one else. Sitting by the door was a beautiful burgundy colored Harley.
“Nice perk.” She tells him.
Mark smirks, pulls a key out of his pocket and fires it up. Danni attaches the bag to the back gets on and puts her arms around Marks waist. Mark squeezes her arm and the take off. About 2 hours later they drive up to a small beach community. Mark parks the bike in one of the driveways.
“Whose place is this?” Danni asks as she gets off the bike.
“Don’t worry.” He tells her “It belongs to Vince. No one’s here right now.”
“Do you have a key?”
‘No, but I really just wanted to spend sometime outside. The hotels get to me after a while.” Mark gets the bag off the back and then takes Danni’s hand. He leads her down the side of the house to the patio overlooking the ocean. The view was breathtaking. Danni walks over to the railing.
Mark puts the bag down by one of the chairs and walks up behind her. Putting his arms around her, he kisses her neck. Danni leans back into his embrace.
“It’s beautiful here.” Danni says softly
“Yeah, quiet too. I come here sometimes to unwind.”
They stand that way for a while watching the wave’s crash on the shore.
“Come on, there’s still a little time before sunset. Let’s take a walk.” Mark says softly
They take off their shoes, or in Marks case boots, and go down the stairs to the beach. They walk hand in hand just content to be in each others company. As sunset nears they walk back to the porch. Danni sits down on an overlarge lounge chair while Mark picks up the bag. He pulls out a blanket “Are you hungry? I grabbed a couple of sandwiches.”
“No, not right now.” Patting the lounge chair “Come on over here and keep me warm.” She says with a smile.
“Gladly” Mark gives the blanket to Danni and settles down next to her on the lounge chair. Danni spreads the blanket over them and snuggles up with Mark. Her head on his chest and one arm across his stomach. With Marks strong arms wrapped around her Danni sighs in contentment.
They are watching the beautiful sunset when Mark whispers into her hair “I love you Danni.” She lifts herself up so she can see his face. “I love you too.”
They didn’t actually see the sun slip under the horizon.


Chapter 10

Monday morning Mark and Danni wake up about 9:30, not too surprising as they didn’t make it back to the hotel until midnight. At least there hadn’t been any ‘fans’ in the lobby when they had gotten in.

They spent a quiet morning in their room getting ready for the day. Danni watched Mark as he went through his ring attire, making sure he hadn’t forgotten anything, and packing it away in his bag. About 11:00 the phone rings.
“I’ll get it.” Danni says “Hello?....Hey Paul what’s up?....Hold on I’ll ask.” Taking the phone away she turns to Mark. “Paul and Stephanie want to know if we want to go over for lunch.”
“Sure.”
Holding the phone back up “He said sure….Ok see you then.”
“You don’t mind, do you?” Mark asks her.
“Why would I? I like them, besides you don’t get to see them that often.” She tells him
“It’s just….” He hesitates
“What sweetheart?” she says walking over to him
“I’ve had to spend a lot of time working this trip.”
Smiling Danni replies “Like I didn’t know that was going to happen.”
“You’re right” Mark sighs “I guess I just want to make sure your OK with all this.”
Danni reaches up to put her hand on the side of his face. “Mark, I understand. This is you livelihood, as well as what you love to do. How could I be upset?”
He looks into her eyes “Some people would.”
“In case you haven’t noticed I’m not ‘some people’. I understand about your responsibilities.” Smiling up at him “besides, I have this incredibly warm, caring and completely sexy man standing in front of me….and we have an hour before we have to leave.”
Mark chuckles softly, then “Danni, I’m being serious.”
“So am I” she sighs “Look, I know it might not seem like it, but I responsibilities too. I was lucky enough to get time off work and my mom to watch the boys. The next time you’re free, I may not be as….available. It’s just something we’ll need to work out.” Danni pauses “I’m willing to work at it if you are.”
“I’m willing.” He smiles
:Just remember you said that when I’m at a practice or playing taxi.” She says laughing.
With a smirk Mark replies “I’ll try.” He pulls her into his arms “So, we have an hour?”
She kisses him by way or reply.

Lunch was fun. Besides Paul and Stephanie, Randy, Sam, Glen and Pam were there. Mark and Danni came in for a bit of teasing as to why they were a bit late. When it looked like Paul wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, Randy joined in with “Hey, at least they didn’t have to wait in the hall when they got here.”
Paul blushed and stammered “That was Steph..”
“Oh really? I guess I was in here all by myself then?” Stephanie says as she hit him on the back of the head.
That set everyone off for a bit. Most of lunch was like that, the guys and girls teasing each other. The only thing work related was agreeing on what time the guys were leaving for the arena.
By 2 they were back in their room. The guys were meeting at 2:30 to leave. Mark paced back and forth, then noticed Danni watching him.
“Sorry darling.” He said sheepishly. Then “Aren’t you getting ready?”
“No, not yet. I’m not leaving until about 4.”
“You’re not going with me?”
“No, Stephanie asked me to go with her and the other girls.”
“OK, but why?” he asked puzzled.
Danni waves her hand at Mark, he had started to pace again. “You need to go be ‘The Undertaker’. I’ll see you after the show.”
He stops pacing and looks at her “Danni….”
“Mark, we just went through this.” Danni gets up off the couch and walk over to him. Pushing Mark, or at least he let her, down on the chair so they were more or less eye to eye, she tells him “Go! Do what ever it is that you need to do to become ‘the big bad phenomenal Undertaker.” She pauses “ I’ll be waiting for you….Mark….After the show.”
He looks into her eyes “You really mean that don’t you?”
“With all my heart.”
His smile intensifies the green of his eyes. “Thank you.”
Before they get any farther, there was a knock on the door.
Mark sighs “That’s probably Randy.”
“Of course it is.” Danni laughs “Go on.”
“Meet me backstage, at the dinning area?”
“Of course.” Another knock on the door, this one louder “You better go before Randy breaks the door down.” She teases him.
He pulls her into an embrace “love you” he whispers into her ear. With a last kiss he let Danni go. Getting up he grabs his bag and heads out the door.

Taking a limo with Stephanie, Pam and Sam was cool. Danni had never been in one before. They were taken to the underground entrance. Stephanie took them on a whirlwind tour, mostly for Danni’s sake, of the ‘back area’. They stopped in the ‘dinning area’ to pick up some snacks. “Sorry, I can’t eat the food they serve in the concession stands.” Stephanie said by way of explanation. They made it to the ‘luxury box’ by 5:30. It was exciting, they watched the fans finding their seats and checked out the signs the fans had brought.
SMACKDOWN started at 6:00. So they settled in to watch.
MVP vs. Dolph Ziggler – a very serious back and forth match with MVP finally pinning Dolph, even with Vickie screaming outside the ring.

Jack Swagger vs. Matt Hardy – This one didn’t take too long. Jack made Matt tap out with his ankle lock. Unfortunately it looked like Matt has really gotten hurt. He needed to be helped backstage.

“You know, this is a lot different now that I’ve met some of these guys.” Danni tells Stephanie.
Stephanie laughs “Believe me I know. A lot of them are just regular guys, but when they get here….” She waves to the arena “ BAM! Fireworks! What I try to do is think of them as their ring persona, sometime it helps.”

Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio – Show dominated most of the match. When it looked like Show was about win, Alberto’s ring announcer interfered and Show lost by count out.

Edge and Christian vs. Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre –A pretty good match. Lots of tags, but of course Drew cheated and he and Cody won.

Next Kane’s music hit the arena.
“Danni leans over to Pam “I don’t know if I can watch these two beat on each other.”
Pam smiles and gets up “I feel the same way. Want to take a walk?”
“Yes.”
The two of them take a walk around the hallway, of course they could still hear the crowd going wild. Finally Kane’s pryo goes off. They head back to watch the RAW show.

RAW started off with HHH coming out to a standing ovation. C.M. Punk comes out and challenges him.
Danni caught Stephanie leaving out of the corner of her eye.
HHH beat won to an almost deafening roar.

Daniel Bryan vs. John Morrison – Daniel seemed to hold his own for a while. That is until John hit him with ‘Starship Pain’ for the win.

Wade Barrett setup the next match – Sheamus vs. John Cena
Another good match. John and Sheamus went back and forth. When John had Sheamus up in the AA, Wade stopped him and pulled John out of the ring. Sheamus won by count out.

Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov vs. Tyson Kidd and David Heart Smith
Santino was funny as usual. Unfortunately the Heart Dynasty didn’t seem to be on the same page and lost. They fought all the way up the ramp.

Sam got up and left the room.
Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett
Randy was in the ring when Wade and the NEXUS came out, NEXUS stayed on the top of the ramp. Randy was winning until NEXUS ran down to the ring. They beat Randy down and ‘the show went off the air’.

Sam came back in a few minutes later. Seeing Stephanie and Sam leave when their husbands were on stage made Danni feel better about not watching the Kane/Taker match.
The girls waited a bit for the crowd to die down before going backstage. Once there they head for the dinning area to wait for the guys. Most of the ‘superstars’ were already there wandering over by the food table or talking in small groups.
“Glen and Mark are usually the last one’s to get here.” Pam tells Danni.
Laughing Danni replies “Why doesn’t that surprise me?”
“Oh, I don’t know.” Pam laughs back. “ I’m going to get a soda, do you want one.”
“Yes, thanks.”
Pam walks away to get their drinks, which leaves Danni alone. She leans up against the wall and watches the wrestlers and crew interact with each other.
“Hi there.” Danni hears someone say. She turns to see C.M. Punk standing next to her.
“Hi” Danni replies
Holding out his hand “C.M. Punk”
Danni takes his hand to shake it “Danni”
“I hear you’re a big fan.” Punk says as Danni tries to pull her hand away.
“Well a fan of WWE anyway.”
Still holding her hand “I meant a big fan of mine.” Punk says as he leans in closer.
“Um, not really.” Danni tried to sidestep Punk, but he moves with her.
“It’s alright. You don’t have to be shy.”
Danni catches Mark approaching out of the corner of her eye. Stepping the other way while still trying to reclaim her hand Danni sighs “I’m not shy. I’m just trying….”
Punk interrupts with a smile and puts his other hand on her arm “What? Get me alone?”
“No, save your ass.”
With a puzzled look Punk says “Save my a….”
He didn’t finish as Mark had just grabbed him and pulled him away from Danni.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Mark growls
“Hey, just meeting a fan.” Punk tells him
“Really? She didn’t look to happy about it.”
By this time a couple of the wrestlers had come over.
In his defense Punk says “Well, I was told she was a fan.”
Mark just glowered at him.
Danni puts her hand on Mark’s arm to get his attention. “Sweetheart….I think he was….misinformed.”
Punk gets a surprised look on his face “Sweetheart?” he gulps.
“Dude, even I’m not stupid enough to grab Mark’s girlfriend.” Adam snickers from behind Punk.
Punk’s head whips around to stare at Adam “Girlfriend?”
Adam nods.
“Oh sh*t!” his head whips back to Mark, who still looked pissed off. Punk babbles “Oh man….look Mark….I didn’t know….seriously….Melina….she pointed her out….she told me….I thought….”
Mark takes a step toward Punk, but a large arm across his chest, sort of, stops him. It was Show.
“Mark, it was a misunderstanding.” Show says to help calm Mark down. Punk was shaking his head YES. “Punk wouldn’t have approached Danni the way he did if he had known.” Turning to Punk “Right?”
“Totally….completely…” Punk stammers
“He should never have done it anyway.” Mark was still pissed off “ I saw Danni trying to move away from him.” He tries to take another step towards Punk.
Show steps between them. Sighing “Mark, he thought she was a fan, you know how some of those girls act.” At least he had Mark’s attention now. “It won’t happen again.” Turning to look at Punk over his shoulder “Will it?”
“No way man!”
Show played his last card.” Beside, I think you should be checking on Danni, don’t you?”
That brought Mark up short. Turning to see Danni still leaning up against the wall, the pissed off look he had started to fade away.
“Danni I….”
“It’s alright.” She tells him and moves into his embrace. “I was more worried you were going to hurt him and Vince would have to fine you or something.” She teases him.
That was exactly the right thing to say. She felt his muscles start to relax. Punk and several others took the opportunity to slip away.
Mark holds her tightly and whispers into her hair “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine, really. He was just annoying.” Then she starts to chuckle.
Letting go just enough that he could see her face he asks puzzled “What’s so funny?”
“Well….I think you scared Punk enough that he won’t be as….annoying….to the next fan he meets.”
Mark had to laugh at that.
“I think you might be right Danni.” Show laughs. Most everyone had left, but there was still a small crowd in the dinning area. Sighing Show tells them. “I’ll take care of this.” He turns around to face the room. “OK people. In case there are any more idiots….I mean people….here that don’t know, this is Danni, she’s with Mark.” There was laughing from the crowd.
Danni pulls one of her arms from around Mark’s waist and hits show on the arm.
“Hey, just trying not to have any more….misunderstandings.” show tells her with a huge grin
“Thanks.” Mark replies sarcastically.
“You’re welcome. I may not be there next time to stop you from pounding someone.” Laughing show walks away.
Mark sighs ”Sorry about, you know….getting pissed off.”
“There’s nothing to be sorry for.” Danni smiles “Besides, you didn’t actually hurt him.” She laughs.
Mark chuckles “You’re right. Come on, let’s get out of here.”

As Mark and Danni walk to the back door, they run into Glen, Pam and Paul.
“Nice show.” Paul says with a smile.
Mark moves his shoulder a bit, it was hurting again. “Thanks, Glen and I try to please the fans.” He says sarcastically.
Laughing Paul says “I meant the one in the dinning area.”
Mark growls “Yeah, well….”
“Don’t get me wrong. Punk deserved what he got. I’m only surprised you didn’t….actually hit him.” Paul tells him
Still growling “Show stopped me before I could.”
“Yeah, well” Paul continues “That’s probably for the best. By the way, Steph is….taking care of the….problem.”
“What exactly does that mean?” Mark asks
Sighing “She’s making sure Melina is….’traded’ to RAW.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah.”
Smirking Mark says “Tell her thank you for me.”
“You can thank me yourself.” Stephanie says as she walks up.
Mark gives her a hug “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome. I should have seen it sooner, sorry about that.” Stephanie admits.
“Hey no big deal. Come on let’s go.” Mark says as he takes Danni’s hand.
The six of them leave the arena.

Good bye’s the next day were really hard. Danni did her best, but she would miss him so much.
“Danni….I don’t know when I’ll be free again. Vince has me scheduled for several house shows, as well as the regular ones.”
Danni sighs “I know.” Mark gives her a puzzled look. “ Stephanie and I talked about she added.
Mark pulls her into an embrace “I’ll miss you, you know.”
“I know, about as much as I’ll miss you.”
They stay in each others arms for a while.
“Call me when you get home?” she asks
“As soon as I walk in the door.” He promises her.
Their luggage had already been taken down to the lobby.
“Come on sweetheart. Glen will be waiting for you.”
Reluctantly they go down to the lobby. Glen and Pam are already there. Mark leaves Danni with them to go and check out. Once Mark is out of earshot she turns to Glen.
“I have a favor to ask you.”
“What?” Glen asks
“Will you look out for Mark for me?”
“Danni, you have my word.” Glen tells her seriously.
“Good. And thank you.” She gives Glen a hug.
Mark walks back. He and Glen point out their luggage to the bell hop to be taken tp the waiting car.
“Remember I love you.” Danni tells Mark softly “And I’ll be waiting for you.”
“I will. I love you too.” Mark tells her just as softly. “As soon as I’m free I’ll let you know.”
With a last passionate kiss, Mark walks out with Glen.

Hi new chapter up

Chapter 11

It had been three weeks since Mark had left. He and Danni talk about every other day, sometimes for an hour, sometimes only 10 minutes, depending on his schedule.

It’s now towards the end of October. Danni missed Mark more then she thought she would. He was in her thoughts everyday. As she was thinking about would he would be doing, the phone rings.
“Kyler, can you get that? I’m making dinner.” Danni yells out of the kitchen.
“Sure mom. Hello?....Hi Mark….yeah mom’s here….hold on she’s in the kitchen.” Kyler brings her the phone with a smile he says “Guess who.”
“Thanks love, can you watch the stove for a minute?” she asks him
“Sure.” Kyler tells her. He always notices the smile on his mom’s face when Mark calls.
“Hi sweetheart.” Danni says with a smile
“Hi Darlin.”
“I was just thinking of you.” She admits
“Really? Which parts were you thinking about?” Mark teases her
Danni blushes “Not like that! Well, maybe a little” she teases back “So what are you up too?”
“Unpacking, laundry, packing, you know the usual.”
“Oh boy, sounds like way too much fun.” Danni laughs “So where are you headed this time?”
“Burbank.” He says
“What do you mean Burbank? You guys don’t have any shows around here.”
Danni always tried to keep up with Marks schedule.
Laughing Mark tells her “No we don’t. Glen found a house last time we were out there. His bid got accepted and he needs to go out and sing some paperwork. He asked if I wanted to come along.” He pauses “I was hoping you could get away?”
“Well, when are you guys coming in?” she asks
“Wednesday morning. Sorry it’s just going to be a quick trip. We need to head out Thursday. Can you get free for dinner?”
Danni sighs “I don’t know. That’s a long way for my mom to drive for just dinner.”
Kyler joins in the conversation “What’s up?”
To Mark “Hold on a second.” To Kyler “Mark is going to be in town Wednesday and wants to go to dinner.”
Kyler looks at his mom, her smile had faded a bit “You really like this guy don’t you?”
“Yes Ky, I really do.”
Kyler thinks a second “Then go. I can watch Corey.”
“Really?”
“Sure, why not? Dinner, bedtime-no problem.”
Laughing Danni tells him “You say that now. But thanks love.”
“Yeah, yeah, no biggie.” Kyler tells her.
She puts the phone back up to talk to Mark. “Kyler just said he’d watch Corey.”
“Really? Tell him thanks for me. I’ll pick you up about 6.” He pauses “I miss you.” He says softly.
“I miss you too. I’ll see you Wednesday.” They hang up the phone.
“Hey Ky, Mark said to tell you thanks.”
Kyler responds with “Like I said, no bigge. You’ll have to tell Cor I’m in charge you know.”
Danni sighs “I know.”
“Hey, at least this way Cor and I can meet him.”
Sighing again “You’re right. You should meet him.”
“Chill mom, I know he’s special to you.”
“Yeah he is.” Danni says with a smile.


After work on Wednesday, Danni pick up her boys. They went to the store, as the boys had decided on hot dogs for dinner and of course there weren’t any in the house, and made it home by 5pm.
“Alright boys, homework time.” Danni makes sure they get started and heads into her room to get changed for dinner.
About 20 minutes to 6 Kyler yells from the living room “Hey mom, there’s this biker looking dude walking up the driveway.”
Danni was still in her room “That’s probably Mark. Dam, he’s early” She yells back.
Just then there’s a knock at the door. “Don’t worry, I’ll get it.” Kyler yells
He gets up and opens the door. Mark is standing there, when he see’s Kyler he gets a little nervous.
“Hey” Kyler says to Mark.
“Hi, you must be Kyler. I’m Mark.” He shakes hands with Kyler.
“Yeah, come on in. Corey’s still doing homework.” Kyler turns around and yells down the hall “Hey Cor, come here.”
“I’m not finished.” Corey yells back.
“OK, come out when you’re done.”
Turning back to Mark “So, you’re the guy my mom likes.”
“Kyler!” Danni exclaims as she comes into the living room.
Mark laughs “It’s OK….”
Just then Corey comes out “I’m done.” He sees Mark and stops “Whoa! You’re big!”
Mark kneels down so he is at a closer level. “Hi Corey, I’m Mark.”
“No you’re not, you’re The Undertaker.” Corey responds
“Well, I play The Undertaker on WWE, but my friends call me Mark.” He tells him.
“OK, Hi” he says to Mark. Corey then looks at this mom “Like Dwayne Johnson right?”
“Yes honey.” Danni tells him
Mark gives her a ‘what’ look.
Danni laughs “One of Corey’s favorite movies is ‘Walking Tall’. When we saw the ‘Rundown’ I had to explain that Dwayne Johnson was an actor and he played different roles.”
Mark laughs “That’s pretty cool. Next time I talk to him, I’ll let him know you’re a fan.”
Mark and Corey shake hands and he stands back up. “I’m happy to meet you guys. You’re mom talks a lot about you.” Mark tells them.
Kyler looks at Mark “You know we’re a package deal right?”
“Ky! Manners!” Turning to Mark “I’m sorry…”
Mark stops her “Danni, really it’s alright.” Mark turns so he can see both boys. “Yeah I do. I wanted to be sure of the way your mom and I feel about each other before I met you guys.”
“OK, I can understand that” Kyler tells him
Mark gets a thoughtful look “Tell you what, you two pick a place you like to go. Next time I get free, we can spend some time together.”
“Cool!” Corey says
Kyler asks him “When will that be?”
“I’m not sure, but probably in the next two to three weeks.” Mark replies
Kyler thinks a second “Sweet, Cor and I will talk about it.”
Danni tells Kyler “You know I get the last say in this right?”
“Chill mom, it’ll be….fun.” Kyler says with a smile
‘That’s what I’m afraid of’ Danni says under her breath. “OK boys, you know the rules. Corey, Kyler is in charge.”
With a sigh Corey says “I know.”
“Kyler, don’t be bossy. Just make dinner. Corey, bedtime is at 9. No fighting you two.”
“Chill,” Kyler says with a sigh “you act like I haven’t done this before.”
“Sorry. Love you both.” With a kiss and a hug for each of her boys Danni turns to Mark “Ready?”
“Yeah, let’s go. See you guys in a couple of weeks.”
Once they get to Marks rental car he pulls Danni into his arms “I’ve missed you more than I thought I would.” He admits to her.
She laughs softly “Believe me I know how you feel.” She looks up into his beautiful green eyes “It feels like forever since I’ve been in your arms, but I know it’s only been a few weeks.” She admits back to him.
Subconsciously aware of her boys in the house “come on sweetheart, let’s go.”
Mark reluctantly let’s her go. They get in the car and drive to Burbank where they are going to meet Glen and Pam.
“You know, you were really sweet to the boys in there.” Danni tells him.
“You think? I was a bit nervous when I saw Kyler open the door.” Mark admits
“It didn’t show.” She tells him. “I’m glad you finally met them, but are you sure you want to spend a day with them?”
Mark sighs “Danni….I want you in my life. That means getting to know your boys. At least this way it’s on their terms.”
“Thank you sweetheart.” She says to Mark.


Mark and Danni arrived at the restaurant and walked up to the hostess. “Do you have a reservation sir?” she asked
“Yes, under Calaway.”
“Yes sir, party of four. Is the rest of your party with you?”
Mark looks around “They don’t seem to be here yet.”
The hostess asks “Would you like to wait for them?”
“Yeah.” Mark pauses “Is Joseph here tonight?”
“The owner? Yes he is.”
“Can you give him a message for me?”
“Of course sir, but he’s very busy.”
Smirking Mark replies “I’m sure he is, just tell him the B.O.D. are here. We’ll be in the bar until the other two show up.”
The hostess asks “The B.O.D. sir?”
Mark smiles “He’ll understand. Come on Danni.”
They walk in to the bar and order a couple of beers. Within a few minutes they hear “Well I’ll be dammed! Mark, you son of a bitch, how are you?”
Mark turns around “Hey, Joseph. It’s been way too long.” They shake hands and give each other a slap on the back.
Joseph was 6’4”, with black shoulder length hair, light blue eyes and muscular. He looked like he could have been a wrestler.
Joseph tells him “When Kristen gave me your message I couldn’t believe it. I haven’t seen you in, what almost two years.”
Mark smiles “Yeah, you know the drill, never in one place that long.”
Laughing Joseph says “Yeah I remember. Boy I sure don’t miss the traveling.” He pauses “So, where is the other half of the B.O.D.?”
“Right behind you.” Glen laughed
Joseph turned around “Glen! Good to see you man.” They shake hands “Pam, it’s a pleasure to see you again.” He gives her a kiss on the cheek. “Oh man, where are my manners.” He turns to Danni “Please forgive me.” He holds out his hand “Joseph Connor, at your survice.”
Laughing Danni takes his hand “Danni Newman. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Mark and Glen laugh. Glen tells Danni “It is now. He used to be a party animal, back in the day.”
Joseph puts on a hurt face and responds “Glen, I’m hurt. I’m a business owner you know.”
“Cut the crap Joseph.” Mark laughs “You used to be worse than Glen and I put together.”
Joseph laughs “I was at that, but I seem to recall a time or two…”
“Alight I give! No reason to bring that up.” Mark laughs
Still laughing Joseph says “Another time then.”
The hostess, Kristen, walks up to Joseph. “Excuse me Mr. Connor, the table you requested is ready for your guests.”
“Thank you Kristen, would you escort them please.” Turning back to the guys “I’ll stop by the table before you guys leave. Enjoy.”

Kristen escorts them to a quiet area in the back of the restaurant. This area was slightly separated from the rest with a low half wall. “Please, enjoy yourself. Your waiter will be with you shortly.”
Mark and Glen were still chuckling softly.
“Alright, I’ll bite. Obviously you two have known Joseph for a long time. Care to explain?” Danni asks
“It’s been what about 15 years or so?” Glen asks Mark
“Yeah about that.” He replies
“Well, back when WWE was WWF Joseph pretty much ran the ‘ring crew’. Every once in a while he would wrestle some of the dark matches.” Glen started
Mark chimes in “Yeah, back then he really wanted to be a wrestler.”
“That’s true,” Glen continues laughing “Anyway Joseph was one of our….drinking buddies.”
Danni puts her hands up “Say no more. I’ve heard some of those stories.” Laughing she turns to Mark “No wonder you stopped him.”
“Yeah well, we’ve all mellowed out a bit from those days.” Mark says sheepishly
Glen laughs “Oh yeah. We usually drink at ‘home’ these days. It gets us into less trouble.”

The food was wonderful, N.Y. Steak, Garlic bread, and Chocolate Mouse Pie for desert. Joseph stopped by a couple of times ‘just to check on things’ he told them. Glen told him about the house he had bought, relatively near by, and he’d let Joseph know when he had settled in.

The two couples parted ways when they got outside. Glen was going back to Pam’s for the night.
Mark pulls Danni into his embrace after Glen and Pam leave “Think I could persuade you to come to the hotel for a while?”
Danni teases him “That depends.”
Mark smirks “Oh really? Depends on what?”
“On how you plan on persuading me.” She tells him with a laugh
Still smirking Mark leans down and kisses her. When they break apart he says “How’s that?”
“That works!” she laughs.


Mark took her home about 12:30, as Danni had to work the next day and Mark and Glen had an early flight.
He walked Danni to her door, then pulled her into his arms “Danni, I wish I had more time.”
“It’s OK Mark,” she tells him “I’ll take whatever time you have.”
He chuckles softly “I know.” He pauses “I love you, you know.”
Smiling up at him “Yes I do. I love you too.” She kisses him passionately “Call me when you get settled tomorrow?”
“You know I will.” He lets her go reluctantly and heads back to the car.

Chapter 12

Friday morning, while Danni was at work Stephanie calls her. They had gotten along so well, they had exchanged phone numbers. They had spoken a couple of times through the last couple of weeks.
“Hi Stephanie. How are you?”
“Hi Danni, I’m fine. How are you?”
“Pretty good. How are Paul and the girls?”
“Everyone’s fine over here. You’re boys?”
Danni laughs “There OK, I think Corey is still a little confused though.”
“Really? Why?” Stephanie asks
“They meet Mark Wednesday.” She tells her
“Wow, that’s great! But why the confusion?”
“Well, they only met for a few minutes. Don’t forget Corey’s only 10. I think he still see’s Mark as ‘The Undertaker.’ Hopefully that will change soon though.”
Stephanie laughs “Yeah, I can see that.” A pause “Does he still want to meet John?”
Laughing “That’s a silly question. Of course he does, but why?”
Stephanie lets her know “There’s going to be a Raw in LA next Monday. John’s doing a ‘meet & greet’.”
Confused Danni tells her “I didn’t know that.”
“Yeah well, it doesn’t happen often, but there was a scheduling conflict and we had to move the show last minute.” Stephanie pauses and Danni could hear paper being moved around “There’ll be an announcement on tonight’s Smackdown.”
Danni pauses, then “Stephanie, I’d love to take him but….”
Stephanie interrupts her “Great! It’s at The Staples Center, the ‘meet & greet is at 4. just go to the will call about 3:30 or so. Everything will be set up.”
“Really Stephanie, I can’t…”
“Danni, dads ‘orders’ are, if she wants to go, take care of it.” She added with a laugh “I think he likes you.”
‘That’s really sweet Stephanie, but I….”Danni sighs “I hate to admit this but….I can’t afford the tickets.”
There was understanding in Stephanie’s voice “Danni, when dad says take care of it, in the tone he used, it means your part or our little family. Just go and have fun.” Then she laughs “Or I can give you dad’s number and you can tell him no.”
Danni chucks “I don’t think I could.”
“Then it’s setteled.” Stephanie tells her. “Hey, what are your plans for the Christmas Holidays?”
“I really don’t know. The boys usually go to my mom’s between Christmas and New Years.” Danni tells her “Other then that? I’m hoping to spend some time with Mark.”
“Ok, let me make a note of that.” Stephanie says
“Why?” Danni asks
“I want to check a couple of things, I have something in mind. When I get more info I’ll give you a call.”
Danni was still puzzled but laughingly said “Alright, you know where to find me.”
Stephanie laughs “Yeah, at least I know where you are. Talk to you soon.”


Later that night Danni and Corey were watching Smackdown.
Theodore Long comes out first thing “Hallar, hallar, hallar. I was just given an announcement from WWE head quarters. It seem that in two weeks RAW will not be held at the ‘Philips Arena’ in Atlanta Georgia as previously scheduled. The RAW show has been moved to ‘The Staples Center’ in Los Angeles California. For those of you in the WWE Universe that have tickets to the Atlanta show, I have been informed that you can go on WWE.com to see when the show will be re-scheduled in Atlanta. As you know, the WWE values and respects all the members of the WWE Universe. Your tickets will be honored at the re-scheduled show. Everyone, go to WWE.com for more details. Hallar, hallar, hallar.”

“Aw man” Corey exclaims
Danni asks him “What’s the matter?”
“You heard him. RAW’s going to be at The Staples Center.”
“Yeah, so?”
With a sigh Corey tells her “I wish we could go.”
Danni pretends to thin about it. “I guess we could go.”
Corey jumps off the couch “Really!? We can go!?”
“Yes really.” Danni laughs “Actually a friend of mine gave us some tickets. It was going to be a surprise.” She admits to him
“Wow mom, you have cool friends.”
“Yeah, I really do.” Danni smiles
They watch the rest of Smackdown. Corey copies his favorite moves on the couch, beats up the pillows, pretends to kick out of holds. The usual Friday night routine.
“You know, someday you’re going to be too big and break our couch.” Danni teases Corey
“That’s what you always say.” Corey replies as he tries to pin his mom’s shoulders down on the couch. “1..2..kickout in 2.” Corey is also the referee. “Mom, you’re supposed to lose.”
Laughing Danni says “Oh, I’m Dolph this time? I thought I was Kofi.”
She turns the tables on him and tickles him into a ‘rope break’. Corey jumps back up and Danni lets him pin her for ‘the win’.
“Ok, it’s almost bedtime.” She tells him “It’s time to settle down.”
The sit together on the couch and watch the last two matches.

Rey Mysterio beat Alberto Del Rio and Corey gives his mom hi-five.
Last match Kane vs. Big Show - Kane was winning when ‘Gong, gong’ the lights go out and Undertaker shows up in the middle of the ring. Kane and Taker exchange some blows, then Kane runs away up the ramp.

Corey tells his mom “He didn’t look as scary when I met him.”
Laughing Danni tells him “I hope not. Good night love.”
Corey gives her a hug “Goodnight mom.”

The nest week or so flies by. Mark and Danni talked several times. Corey even talked to Mark, to tell him about the RAW show they were going to. Danni got off work early and picked up Corey early from school. They stop by the house to get changed for the show. Corey changed into this orange John Cena shirt, put on his spinner necklace and got his Cena foam finger off his shelf. Danni had changed into jeans, tennis shoes and put on one of her ‘sinful’ shirts.
“Mom, you can’t wear that. You need to wear a wrestling shirt.”
Danni smiles “OK, which one should I wear?”
Corey thinks a second “I think you should wear your purple (nightmare) Undertaker shirt.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“OK, it’s your night.” She goes back to change her shirt.

They drove down to The Staples Center and go to the will call window. Danni gives her name and the guy behind the window hands her an envelope. Inside are two tickets to the ‘meet & greet’ and two tickets for the show. Danni hands the first set to Corey.
He looks at the tickets “No way! Are we really going to meet John Cena?”
“Yes, we really are.” Danni laughs “Come on, we need to cross the street to The Nokia Theater.”
They cross the street, get the tickets scanned, follow the signs and finally make it to the line that had already formed. It took over half an hour to make it to the front of the line. By this time Corey couldn’t stand still.
Danni had been watching John with the kids he was meeting. He seemed to make each one feel special as he talked to them, signed autographs and took pictures. That man smiled the whole time. You could tell he really enjoyed what he was doing.
Finally it was their turn. Corey practically bounced his way over to John. John’s attention was on Corey.
“Hi there. What’s your name?” John asked him.
“Hi” Corey was shy all of a sudden.
Danni tells him “Go ahead, he’s really nice.”
John looked up at hearing Danni’s voice, noticed the shirt she was wearing and gave her a lopsided smile.
“My name’s Corey.” He had finally found his voice.
“It’s great to meet you Corey. Boy you look like a big fan.” John smiled
“You’re my favorite wrestler.” Corey tells him.
John laughs “I can see that. Do you have anything you want me to sign?”
“Can you sign my foam finger?”
“Of course.” John signs it, gives him an autograph picture, poses for a couple of pictures that Danni takes of them together.
“So, have you met any other wrestlers?” John asks
“Yeah, I met the Hart Dynasty, Kane, Kahli, Evan Bourne, Alica Fox at Summerslam.” Corey looks at his mom for permission.
“It’s OK, you can tell him.” She smiles
Corey motions John to come closer “I met The Undertaker” he, almost, whispers “It’s kind of a secret, but did you know his real name is Mark?”
Laughing John tells him “Yes I did. So where did you meet him?”
Corey tells him in his, almost whisper “At my house, but it wasn’t for long.”
Danni looked around, but there weren’t any fans close by. She leans over close to John anyway, so no one would overhear “He picked me up for dinner a couple of weeks ago.”
John gives her a kiss on the cheek and whispers to her “Glad to see you, you look good. By the way, like the shirt.” John says with a smile.
Danni blushes, but laughs “Yeah, it was Corey’s idea. Can’t go to a retelling show without wearing a wrestling shirt, you know.”
“I guess not.” John laughs.
He turns back to Corey “Would you like to meet some of my friends after the show?”
Corey looks at his mom “Could we?”
“John, that’s really sweet, but we don’t have any passes.”
“That’s easily taken care of. Besides as soon as I tell Randy you’re here he’ll want to see you.” He turns around and motions to someone sitting over in the corner. Sally walks over “Danni? It’s good to see you again.” They give each other a hug.
“Sally! How have you been?”
“Hold on you two.” John interrupts “Baby, do you have any passes on you?”
“Sally smiles “No, but it will only take a few minutes to get some.”
John smiles “Why don’t you two go with Sally and she can get them for you.”
“No way!” Corey says excitedly.
John smiles at him “I’ll see you after the show.”

Danni and Corey walk away with Sally to a small table. Sally makes a phone call and then she and Danni catch up a bit.
Passes in hand they head out of the Nokia Theater. There was still a hour or so before the show started so they went and put Corey’s signed picture in the Jeep. Corey didn’t want it to get bent. They head back to The Staples Center. By this time they are letting people in.
Danni hands Corey the tickets “You better check and see where are seats are.”
It turned out the Stephanie had given them front row seats, right next to King and Cole. They picked up some McDonald’s and find their seats. Corey was still so excited that he was having trouble sitting still long enough to eat.

The RAW show

R-Truth and Eve beat Ted Dibasie and Myrese in a tag team match when Eve covered Myrese.

John Morrison lost to Sheamus when Sheamus kicked Morrison in the head.

C.M. Punk lost to Randy Orton when he got RKO’d.

Santino Marella/ Vladmir Kozlov won against the Oso brothers.

John Cena lost to Utunga when the Nexus interfered.

When the show was over and most of the crowd had left, Corey and Danni made their way to the backstage entrance.
Sally met them there “So, did you enjoy the show?” she asked Corey.
“It was great! I’ve never been in the front row before!” He was still bouncing.
Smiling Sally says “I’m glad you had fun. Come on with me, there are some people waiting to meet you.”
Sally and Danni catch up a bit more as Sally takes them to one of the ‘staging areas’. John was there along with Randy Orton, John Morrison and R-Truth.
Randy gave Danni a hug when she and Corey walked up. “Nice shirt.” Randy teases her with a smile “Where’s Mark?”
“Chicago, if I remember correctly.” She smiles back “How’s Sam?”
“She’s good. I’ll tell her you asked.” He smiles, then turns to Corey “So, you must be Corey. Happy to meet you.” He shakes his hand.
“What’s up little man.” R-Truth says as he shakes hands with Corey.
John Morrison gave him a signed pair of his sunglasses.
Corey was being shy, but had his picture taken with each of the ‘superstars’. Eve and Natalia walk by and R-Truth waves them over. So Corey got to meet them and had another set of pictures taken.
Corey had finally gotten over some of his shyness and was talking to them about some of his favorite matches from the night.
Danni was standing by John and Randy when Rosa walked by. Rosa stopped when she saw Danni.
“What are you doing here?” Rosa snarled at Danni.
“Just keep walking.” John told her.
Rosa responds with “Why should I? It’s because of her the they took me off Smackdown.”
Danni takes a step towards Rosa “Actually, it’s your own fault your not on Smackdown anymore.”
“My fault?” Rosa yells
“Yes, your fault.” Danni remains calm “If you hadn’t stuck your nose in where it obviously wasn’t wanted…”
“You Bitch!” and Rosa tried to take a swing at Danni.
Danni sidesteps her swing and over her shoulder she says “Sally, please move Corey away from here. Cor go with her please.”
Rosa sneers “Is that your little brat?” and she turns towards Corey.
Eve and Natalia move in front of her “I wouldn’t” was all Natalia said.
Danni was starting to get pissed off “This is between you and me.” She said to Rosa.
With confidence Rosa said “What? You don’t want your little brat to watch you get beat up?”
With a evil laugh Danni tells her “What makes you think you can take me?”
Rosa looks her up and down and sneers “Oh please, I’m a trained professional….and I’m younger then you.”
“Oh really? You think that makes a difference.?”
From behind her she heard Corey yell “Mom!”
“Shut up you little brat!” Rosa yells at him
“Don’t ever talk to my son like that.” Danni growls
“HA! Marks just using you, you know. I bet he hasn’t even met that brat of yours.”
“I have too met him!” Corey yells at her
Rosa yells again “Shut up or I’ll make you.”
Danni turns towards Corey “Please love go with …”
Rosa took advantage of Danni being distracted. She pushed Danni into the wall behind her. Danni hit the wall hard enough to knock most of the wind out of her. It dazed her for a second and Rosa slapped her across the face. That brought Danni out of her daze. She slapped Rosa back. Danni blocked the next slap and tried a punch which Rosa deflected. Rosa threw a kick, but only connected with Danni’s hip. She moved with the kick to her right and threw a punch but was partially blocked and connected with Rosa’s shoulder. They went at it for a few minutes, some of the blows and kicks connected and some were blocked. At one point Danni got an elbow to her face. Danni finally got a good punch into Rosa’s stomach and it doubled her over and she took a couple of steps back. When Rosa started to stand up Danni threw a right punch into Rosa’s face. Rosa went down. It took her a while to before she tried to get back up.
Danni was still pissed off, you could see it in her face. With a deadly calm voice she told Rosa “Don’t ever mess with my son again.” Danni turned her back on Rosa and walked over to where Corey was.
“Mom, are you alright?”
“Yeah, you?”
“Yeah. That was cool.” Corey tells her
“Not really, but thanks.” She smiles at him.
Danni looked at the people around her. Most of them had a slightly stunned look.
“What?” Danni said to any and all.
Randy found his voice first “I um didn’t know you could….fight like that.”
“Yeah, well” She replies with a shrug.
John started laughing “Holly shit! You’re a little hell cat.”
Danni starts to laugh “Didn’t anyone ever tell you the female of the species is deadlier than the male?”
Randy says “But you’re so….”
“I swear Randy, if you say ‘old’, I’ll tell Mark to kick your ass.” Danni teases him
Putting up his hands Randy continues “No, no I was going to say small.” He assures her.
Danni looks around, at only 5’4” she was smaller than anyone but Corey. She laughs “OK, I guess your right.”
“Men!” Natalia exclaims “Come on Danni, let’s have the doc tale a look at your wrist.”

All I can say is Wow!!! That was a very good chapter. I like how Danni beat the hell out of Rosa. She was defending herself and her son. Now that's a woman with courage and a lot of fight in her. Great job and I can't wait to read the next chapter. I wonder if Taker is gonna find out about what happened to her. LOL

Chapter 13

The next morning Danni was kind of sore. She hadn’t slept all that well. It had been quite a while since she had hit anything other than a workout bag. She got up anyway and started to get ready for work. She stopped when she saw the black eye in the mirror. ‘Dam’ she thought, explaining a sprained wrist to work was one thing, but a black eye? Sighing she looked through her small make up bag, nope, no foundation. ‘Dam’. Danni decided to call in to work. The doctor had given her a ‘note’ to get out of work for a few days anyway. She called in to work, took Corey to school, dropped off her ‘doctor note’ at work and headed back home.
After taking a couple of Advil, she got two ice packs out, one for her wrist and the other for her eye. By this time the couch looked really good. She put in a movie and got comfy on the couch. She must have fallen asleep, because the next thing she knew her cell was ringing. She didn’t even look at who was calling.
“Hello?” she said half awake.
“Danni? It’s Stephanie, are you all right?” she asked with concern in her voice.
Laughing Danni tells her “Pretty much. A black eye, a sprained wrist. Nothing big.”
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t even think about Rosa being there.”
“Stephanie, it’s not your fault.” She sighs “How did you find out anyway?”
“You mean besides the doctors paperwork that’s on my desk? Natalya called me.”
“Oh, what did she tell you?” she asked
“Pretty much the whole thing.” Then Stephanie laughed “Natalya thinks we should hire you.”
Laughing Danni told her “No thanks. Tell her it was a one time show.”
“I’ll tell her.” Stephanie laughs, then “Seriously though, are you alright?”
“Yeah, nothing that won’t heal up.” She tells her.
Stephanie asks “Have you talked to Mark yet?”
“No, but I usually don’t the day of a tapping. He usually has his phone turned off.”
“Well, maybe you should try to get a hold of him.”
“You’re probably right. I’ll give him a call in a few.”
“Alright,” Stephanie tells her “If you need anything give me a call.”
“Thanks Stephanie, I will.”

Danni gets up and tries to stretch a bit. Puts the ice packs away and then dials Marks number. As she figured it would, it went straight to voice mail.
‘Hi sweetheart, interesting show last night. Give me a call when you have some time. Miss you, Love you.”

Danni didn’t hear from Mark that night, but she really hadn’t expected to. He usually got back to his room pretty late after a show.

Wednesday afternoon, Texas time…
Mark finally made it into a cab and was on his way home. Relaxing in the back seat, he let the last 24 hours run though his head.
He and Glen getting ready for their match…
The ‘Taker/Kane’ match its self….
Nexus coming out to ‘prove something to the WWE’….
‘Taker’ and ‘Kane’ getting on the same page….
Them kicking Nexus’ ass….
The B.O.D. back together….
The late ride back to the hotel….
Sleeping though his alarm….
Barely making the plane….
Finding out his phone was in his suitcase….
He smiled to himself. ‘Another trip was over. Almost home.’
Mark turned on his phone to check his messages. “Huh 3 voice mails”
The first one was Cena (Tuesday morning) “ Mark, you won’t believe what happened last night. Call me.”
The second was Danni (Tuesday afternoon) “Hi sweetheart, interesting show last night. Give me a call when you have some time. Miss you, Love you.” He smiled at that
The third was Vince (Wednesday morning) “Mark, just saw the show. Looks good. Glad you and Glen talked me into it. We need to talk.”

He checked his watch, Danni would probably still be at work. Not really wanting to deal with Vince yet, he called John back.

“Hello?”
“Hey John, it’s Mark. What’s up?”
“Hey Mark. Um….have you talked to Danni yet?”
Laughing Mark tells him “No not yet. Bone headed move man, my phone was packed. Why?”
“You know she was at Raw on Monday right?”
“Yeah, she told me Steph had gotten her some tickets.”
“Well, I saw her at the ‘meet & greet’ I did. Nice kid by the way. I had Sally give them some back stage passes. I figured Randy would, you know, want to say hi.”
“That was cool of you, thanks man.”
John sighed “Yeah, at the time I thought so too.”
Mark started getting a bad feeling “What do you mean by that?”
“Mark, man, I didn’t event think at the time.”
Mark growled into the phone “John, you better tell me what the hell happened.”
“Mark, try not to get pissed off until you hear the whole think OK?”
Growling “You’re stalling…”
“Yeah well….” So John tells him about the ‘superstars’ meeting Corey. Rosa stopping. The verbal fight between Rosa and Danni. Then he pauses
At this point Mark was mad that Danni had to deal with this “John….”
So John continues. The push, the slap, the fight, including color commentary, more of the fight. Rosa down on the floor.
OK now he was pissed off “What else happened?”
But John started to laugh “Man, this is the best part. After the fight Danni just walked away……” then he told Mark about what happened afterward. Randy stunned, Danni taking it in stride, Natalya and Eve making sure Danni saw the doctor. Then the girls making sure she got home safe.
“Is she alright?”
John laughed to himself. He wasn’t sure which ‘voice’ of Mark’s to comment to, the ‘pissed off’ one of the ‘concerned’ one. He decided on the ‘concerned’ one. “I think so. A couple of bruises, and I think Natalya said a sprained wrist.”
“Is that everything?” Mark growled
Oops the pissed off voice was back “Yeah man, that’s everything I know.” He pauses, trying to lighten up the mood he asked “Did you know she could fight like that?”
Still growling “Yeah.”
John chuckles “Man, why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t know it was your business.”
OK lightning the mood didn’t work. “Sorry man, you’re right.” John sighs
Mark sighs “Thanks for letting me know.”
“No problem. Thought it would be better coming from me. Talk to you later.”
“Alright.”
They hang up.

Mark broods the rest of the way to his house. The Taxi pulls up, he grabs both of his bags and he walks into his house. Checking his watch, he figures Danni won’t be home for another hour or so. He starts to pace. Thoughts run through his head and he makes a decision. He calls Vince.
“Hello?”
“Hey, it’s Mark.”
“Mark, nice show you guys had. I wanted…
“Vince, I need time off.”
Vince sighs “I thought you might.”
“So, you heard what happened?” he growled
“Yes I did, and I’ve already taken care of the problem on this end.”
“Good, or I would have.”
“I know, that’s why I took care of it. I need you for Tuesday’s show.”
“I’ll be there.”
“I’ll take care of the changes and get the updated flight to you.” Vince pauses and sighs “Mark, I’m sorry it happened.”
“I know.” Mark sighs “Look, I need a flight to LAX or Burbank as soon as possible.”
“No problem. My secretary will get in touch with you soon.” Vince tells him
“Thanks. Talk to you later.”

Mark starts to pace again. As he walks by his suitcases, for the third time, he grabbed both and headed to his bedroom. There he dumped the entire thing on his bed. He started re-packing his regular clothes and then went though his ring gear.
Finally his cell phone rings.
“Hello?”
“Hi Mark, it’s Alice.”
“Hi Alice. Did you get the info from Vince?”
“Yes, I’m sorry but the earliest flight I could get you was 9 pm tonight.”
“That’s fine. Where to?”
“Burbank airport. I also arranged for a hotel for you.”
“Which hotel and where?”
“The Ramada in Chatsworth. I believe it’s not to far from where you need to be.”
“How do you know?” he growled
Alice sighs “Mark, Stephanie gave me the general area. I went from there.”
Mark sighs “Sorry Alice. I’m a bit out of sorts. Give me the info again please.” He writes everything down.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” Alice tells him before they hang up.

Mark finished packing, then started pacing again. Checked his watch, ‘no not yet’ he thought to himself. So he called Glen.
“Hello?”
“Hey Glen.”
“Hey Mark, what’s up?”
‘I’m taking a couple of days off.”
“Really? We just talked Vince into the B.O.D. again. What’s up?”
So Mark told Glen what had happened to Danni.
“Dam bro, that sucks. So you’re going right?”
“Yeah. I wanted to let you know.”
“Don’t worry about it. We can work out details over the phone.” Glen pauses “Let me know how she is alright?”
“Yeah. I’ll give you a call sometime tomorrow.”
“Alright, talk to you later.”

Mark started pacing again. Checking his watch, he called Danni

Danni and Corey were walking in the door. The phone was ringing. Before she could get to it she heard on the machine “Danni, it’s Mark…”
Corey threw his backpack and lunch box on the couch “I’ll get it.” He picks up the phone “Hi Mark.”
“Hey Corey, How’re you doing?”
“Good.” Before Mark could say anything else he launched into his time at the RAW show. “I got to meet John Cena, Randy Orton, R-Truth, John Morrison, Eve and Natalya at RAW on Monday.”
Mark had to chuckle at his enthusiasm “Really?”
“Yeah, I got picture to show you.” Corey tells him.
Mark chuckled “Sound like you had a good time.”
“It was great! Hey, did you know mom got in a fight?”
“Yeah I heard. How is she?”
“Hold on I’ll get her –MOM PHONE!”
“Hi Mark.”
“Darlin, are you alright?” Mark asked with concern in his voice.
“I take it you heard?” she sighs
“Yeah, John told me.”
She laughs “That doesn’t surprise me.”
“Danni, how bad is it?”
“Let’s see inventory..” she teases
“I’m serious.” He growls
“I know” she sighs “My right wrist is sprained, I have a couple of bruises….”
“”What else?”
“I have a black eye, although it’s a pretty purple and green now.” She laughed
Mark growled “You know it’s not funny.”
“It kind of is, but I know what you mean. I took a couple of days off work.”
“Good. I have a flight out tonight.”
Danni sighs “Really? You just got back. Where does Vince have you going now?”
“Actually, I’ll be there tonight.”
“Vince was OK with that?” she asked surprised
“Yeah.”
“Sweetheart, you don’t need to be here.”
“Yeah Danni, I do.”
Hearing the worry in Marks voice gave Danni a warm feeling. He was willing to take time off to come and make sure she was alright. There were times she still couldn’t believe someone as incredible as Mark care for her.
“Alright.” She smiled “What time do you get in?”
Checking the time difference between Texas and California in his head “I should be there between 9 and 10. I really want to see you tonight. Is that too late?”
“I’ll still be up.” Thinking to her self ‘like I wouldn’t wait all night for him’. “Would you call me when you get in?”
“Defiantly. Look darling, I need to finish up packing so I can make my flight. I’ll see you soon.” He pauses “I love you, you know.”
She smiles “Yes sweetheart, I do. I love you too.”
