. Sorry this has taken so long, but the next part is finally here, and questions are asked...5I had no modern day means to contact the Undertaker, yet it was better that he called for me when he was ready to learn more about his birthright. I watched his performances on Smackdown for the next two weeks, noting that there was a subtle difference in how he carried himself in the ring, as though there was a great weight on his mind. I knew what that weight was. His heritage. Three weeks after the graveyard meeting, as he cut a promo (where the wrestler would talk about another wrestler, a match etc), he slipped my name into the words he spoke to his "Creatures of the night", his fans. That was the signal I had been waiting for. Without even waiting for his talk to end, I made myself (without Andrew) reappear backstage at the arena, next to the entranceway curtains.
I waited until he had finished talking to his followers, then as the lights dimmed in the arena, I stepped out onto the stage. My appearance did not surprise him. I beckoned to Undertaker to follow me, and he stepped out of the ring to come to where I was standing. Leading him to his locker room (which I learned the location of by looking into mortals' minds as I passed them) Undertaker remained silent, only speaking the moment he shut the door behind him. "I want to know more" he said without hesitancy. "I want to know what I would be able to do, my strengths, my weaknesses, my abilities, and the difference between a normal and a so-called Noble vampire-" I held my hand up and he fell silent. "You will learn Deadman. And take heed to whatever I tell you. Understand?" he nodded.
"You ask what you would be able to do. Well, what do you think you will be able to do?" Undertaker answered. "That I will be stronger, faster, keener senses, be able to drink blood. Is that right?" "Yes. And abilities that are unique only to Nobles, but not all for some reason, include mind control, flight, and instant relocation. Like this." And then I relocated to outside his locker room. I knocked on the door, and it opened to reveal a surprised face. "You see?" I said as I stepped back into the room. "I do" Taker responded. "What about weaknesses?" I laughed a little. "For the sole reason that if things went awry between us I cannot tell you. But I can tell you an unknown fact about all vampires."
His attention was completely on me (I must admit, I like having that effect on mortals). "You see, how a human is killed and turned into a vampire defines the vampire that they will become." Undertaker looked at me confused. "What do you mean by that?" "I shall give you some examples. A human who is defeated and then bitten and made to drink the blood of a vampire will become a vampire who is a warrior, well skilled for fighting with a forceful personality. A human who is seduced by their eventual killer will become a seductive vampire, well versed in being enchanting and seducing their prey. This type of vampire is able to control minds, and I shall give you warning that they are considered far deadlier." "Impressive. Is it rude of me to ask how you became a vampire?"
I looked at him. "I will not include details, but I am a seductive vampire. That is all you need to know." Undertaker took off his hat, placed it beside him, and looked away. "I have offended you." I shook my head. "You have not." We both fell silent. I looked at him again, and a thought came to me. Someone who was against becoming a vampire wouldn't be asking as much as he was. I voiced a question to him. "Would you be willing to become a vampire, given the chance?" Undertaker looked surprised at me, eyes wide at first, but then returning to their normal size. He looked as if he was thinking. "Hmm. I would need to think long and hard about this. I'm not saying yes, and i'm not saying no."
"So you are giving this some thought?" "You told me that becoming a Noble vampire was my birthright. If it is mine, then shouldn't I claim it? Yet, I would gain and lose a great deal. It is something I can't be careless about." I couldn't help but be impressed. "Is there anyway for me to find out beforehand what I would be able to do as a vampire?" "There is, but it's far too complicated for me to explain. But I can give a short version. You are given a small window, so to speak, to be the vampire that you may become. It requires another vampire of the kind you are to become to go into a deep slumber, and for the two of you to share a connection. Know why this is rarely used?" "The vampire's vulnerable to attack." I smiled. "Very good."
What he asked of me next was surprising, but not unexpected. "Will you bite me again?" I had to clear up this question. "Do you mean that I am going to, or that you want me to?" It's what i'm asking you to do. This time I want to be aware of it." I sat down next to him, and looked him directly in his green eyes. "Is this what you want?" A pause. "Not to be turned into a vampire, you must understand. I'd rather not have you confusing my mind this time." Sighing, I looked away for a moment before looking at him again. I held his chin in my hand. "My dear, the next time I bite you, it will be when you have decided your fate. Now don't ask again until you have agreed to accept your heritage."
As I moved to reappear home, I swear I saw a look of disappointment on his face, and before relocating I had realised what would have to happen if I was to turn him into a vampire. The castle was quiet, except for the scuttling of rats and, as I picked up the scent, a human, alone and afraid. I pulled back the velvet purple curtain in my room to reveal a cowboy in his 30s tied to a vampiric cross, shaking and sweating, and a note by his boots.
"I have business to attend to my love. Enjoy the meal I left you. Andrew" I looked again at the cowboy, his brown skin looking soft and easy to break. This wasn't normal for Andrew. But I would drink regardless. I do not waste a gift.
