i believe all the fans on this forum will be saying 'none of them' but if you had to choose which era would be the one you did not really like, what would it be. in my opinion i would choose 'big evil'

For me also, its Big Evil....That was the second time he was heel.I never wanted to see him as heel again...So when he was a heel in 2002 as Big evil, i was thinking..oh no...... Coz they will make him lose some matches. That time austin was face.Same as in 1999,i dont want to see that again as austin gets clean win over taker. If you compare all undertaker vs austin matches, Austin only has some clean victories over taker. But taker dont have any clean victories over austin. At Cold day in Hell 1998, that is the only one match he tombstoned austin and won it, eventhough in that match Brain Pillman at ringside rings the bell when austin stunners taker,so austin gets distracted and then taker tombstones him..So this one also not clean. They always show Austin as great.

If I remember correctly 'Taker fared much better than Austin in 2002. He defeated him at Backlash to become the #1 Contender and then went on to defeat Hogan for the title. 'Taker was the main focus of most of 2002, main eventing as a heel against Hogan, Triple H and the Rock and then switching to a face in the second half feuding with Lesnar. Austin had a semi-main event feud with Flair and that was it really.

Big Evil ruled. You'll come to see the light eventually. :smt002

American Badass and Big Evil most definitely. Simply, because these personas were his real life personas. (Except for the Heel part and what not.) 'Taker was simply Mark Calaway at this point in his career, he wasn't the omnipresent force that I grew to love so, I was very disappointed.

Except the heel part...exactly. You can't just group the Badass and Big Evil together. They're two completely different personas. I would say the Badass was my least favourite persona, while Big Evil is one of my favourites.

I'd say the Bad Ass is my least favorite. It was like a 180 degree turn from my favorite persona which was the Ministry persona. I didn't care for the fact they took alot of mysterious nature out of the character at that time. Big Evil, especially when he was the heel, was a huge improvement from the Bad Ass.

I didn't like the Big Evil persona at the beginning, when he was a heel at the time. It's not my worst persona of him but I didn't like how he pursued the persona because he said he demanded respect and I felt like he was acting like a child at the time. The ministry persona to me was too demonic and evil for me. It was the lowest point of his career. I also didn't like his beard either. He looked weird and different.

Mine was the ABA and Big Evil.I still liked it but it's my least favorite.I think that it kinda ruined the whole mysterious and dark side of Taker that they were working for for the last 10 years. He was a human just like everybody else and could be beaten and hurt just like everybody else and he had a wife and child. You can't expect people forget all that stuff ever happened.this is mostly from a kayfabe point of view and it doesnt really work, people would ask "where is his wife?" and stuff like that I know they wanted a change but still...

My least favorite Undertaker personas were American Badass & Big Evil, because he was just too normal for me.. like someone else on this forum said, he wasn't so much the unstoppable "Deadman" & became more of just Mark Calloway.

hm, well if i had to pick it would have to be ABA and/or Big evil, only cause as others here have said it wasn't so much the undertaker as it was himself. on the other side i really like that, seing the more human part of him. i think whatever he does i'd like it eventually, it took some time to get used to seing him 'normal' and not 'dead', but now i appreciate it. ah well, the deadman is still my fav :)

The Minnistery. I didnt care for the Satanic part of the caracter. No, the 'Taker aint a saint, but he is more of a punnisher of "evil souls" than a servant of the devil. That said it (the demonic Taker) didnt just happen overnight, it was brewing in mid 1998 when he and Mankind had their groundbreaking HIC match. Jim Ross commented that "he is, and i hate to say this, becomming almost satanic in his attitude".
I interpreted 'Takers view of the minnistery somewhat differently than some of you. Sure Mcmahon did help in stuffin it up, but what i remember from interviews i read was that he suggested he wasnt to crazy about the Demonic 'taker. He said "I was at a point in my career where i probably shouldnt have been competing and was trying to help others out". Was he referring to mid carders who at the time didnt have significant storylines like the APA, Viscera, Phineas Godwin and others? I beleive so. The minnistery was a haven for those guys at the time. Also of note is that he was plagued with career threatening injuries which he luckily overcame.
For me the old west 'Taker have my fondest memories.

How? I might ask, that was Taker in his prime.

I made a mistake in understanding the meaning of the title because I don't speak English,
But for me there is no personal bad for (The Dead Man), but perhaps personal (Big Evil)
Less personal I watch it,but I enjoy to watch it because I watching (The Undertaker)
This is my reasons

Tombstonedvitim1 wrote:How? I might ask, that was Taker in his prime.

You're right, he was in his best prime
Because he played the character (Lord of Darkness)
The best character played by (The Undertaker) in his history [for me]
And is the first persona I saw him for the first time, despite I being late to watch (WWE)
Sorry, I didn't understand the meaning of the title because I don't speak English and I apologize for the delay.

My least favorites are ABA and Big Evil simply because he was more like a human there which showed that he can be defeated more easily and was far away from a "DeadMan" or a "Phenom"
My most favorite characters are Lord of darkness and Hybrid(especially Hybrid),because he looks like the Phenom and is more scary :D and more powerful too
But really,I just want him to wrestle no matter what persona he comes up with ^^

I don't understand why people are so down on Big Evil. A lot of people are saying it's because he was heel. But in reality, he was only heel half the time he was Big Evil. Sure, he was heel when he was taking on The Rock, Hogan, and Austin, but against Kurt Angle, Big Show, and Lesnar, he was way over with the crowd. Honestly, the face Big Evil was my favorite era just because it was so relatable; especially with his "Shut up and Fight" motto.

As for my least favorite era, I would have to go with the Corporate Ministry, just because it didn't make sense to me having Taker answering to some "higher power"; especially Vince McMahon.

Aside from one occasion,I never saw Austin get a clean win over taker back in 1997-99
He beat the Undertaker in a first blood match in which X-pac interfered and also in a Buried Alive match which Kane came and helped him bury Taker

You could say Austin's only "clean win" over Taker was at Summerslam '98 Highway To Hell... Although, with that said, it took a low blow from Austin to do it. That's the only time Taker/Austin had no real interference to the ending of the match... That match was what cemented Austin as the face of the WWF at that time, as Taker put Austin over in a way that didn't hurt his character, and yet it enhanced Austin's... It was great for both guys. It was also an underrated match.

I'm gonna take it easy on the ABA era because I still enjoyed it. He was more human-like but he also got more time on the mic which created some funny moments. Big Evil was great too but there was a lot left undone in that persona IMO.

Corporate Ministry Taker was the worst for me because he went from a dominant almost deity like leader to a sidekick in a lame stable. Undertaker was dominant in that era and as a member of the corporate ministry he lost his credibility it was almost like he was getting buried also because that angle had more potential,it could've lasted a lot longer than it did.
