RAW gets a new low 2.8 rating

Postby KingBooker » Wed Oct 10, 2007 8:05 am

This week's edition of Raw did a 2.8 cable rating. Unless this is a situation where there was a problem with Nielsen's computations, it's officially cause for concern for WWE and Raw. The show did hours of 2.8 and 2.8, and this was on the day after a PPV where a new WWE Champion was crowned. Again, if there wasn't a problem at Nielsen, this is downright scary, even if you bring DVR time-shifting into the mix.

For those looking to other places for shows that could have affected the rating on cable, ESPN did a 10 cable rating for the Dallas vs. Buffalo game, which was up from the 9.0 that last week's game did. The Indians-Yankees game hurt WWE as well as they did a 7.0 for the deciding game of the series. But still, there have been football games and playoffs in the past and WWE never dropped this far. This is a scary number.

I watched RAW this week for the first time since March and I thought it was actually pretty good full of surprises and good surprises which we haven't had in a good while. I think they're slowly getting back on track if they continue to have Orton as champ and put Kennedy in a feud against Orton that would draw.the ratings this whole year have been slipping WWE began the year with a 4.0 and now their in the low 3s WWE had it coming its just the fans need to lern to explore other companies not just TNA but others like AAA,ROH and NOAH and its good too because those companies are good at delivering a good show. WWE pretty much speaks for itself although lately its been getting better all they need to do is get Khali and Btista out of the main event scene both of them can't deliver a good match none are talented. I'm hoping once Edge is back the main event scene rids themselves of Batista and Khali. WWE is finally doing the right thing for business they just need that belt off Batista other than that WWE is alright

at the moment i'm going with the theory that the kids/cena fans arent watching thus the lower ratings (thats the only reason i can think of really). i mean really what other reason can you think of? i know that some of you stoped watching while UT was out it's reasonable to assume that Cena fans are capable of doing the same.

If that's the reason, there shouldn't be a problem for much longer. HBK returned yesterday, Jericho's approaching, and it seems that the WWE title is going to be a lot more interesting now that "Cena the american retaining machine" is off 'till mid-2008.

In any case, we'll find out soon. ECW's always does low rating, but let us see how SD! does this Friday.

thing is that Jericho MIGHT not be returning (in an interview Jericho claims that he isnt the mystery SAVEUS_222 man, infact he says he didnt know about it until his name was brought up by the fans). but yeah if SD's rating remains as it usually is (around 2) then its most likely to do with cena (or that people chose 'real' sports over RAW (is WAR))

and also if we assume that it IS due to Cena (rather than any other factors) then the majority of cena fans wouldnt know what HBK came back (they wouldnt visit wrestling sites, except possibly WWE.com) so A they wouldnt know what SAVEUS_222 means, B might not know/like Y2J and C might not be HBK fans (remember they're cena fans rather than internet fans)

Yeah this was kinda scary seeing as there was a new champ, day after PPV, and HBK came back there was alot of excitment and yet the ratings fell greatly. Doesn't make sense. I think there was a mix up in it but if not then they need to listen to the USA network's suggestions like some of the wrestling sites have reported and by rumor some of the suggestions are really interesting to me.
