Sting turned down Undertaker WM 27 offer!

Postby slave of darkness » Sat Apr 02, 2011 12:33 pm

Sting revealed in an interview with the Daily Star that WWE officials approached and offered him a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII, as well as induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

He declined :furious their offer

He said that it would have been a dream match that fans would've wanted to see.

He revealed that he turned it down cos he never trusted what would happen, based entirely on the track record with other WCW guys and everything that went on after Vince bought WCW.

It's his decision. I see no reason to get mad about it. He knows he doesn't want to job at Mania like he would if he faced Taker. It's a dream match, yes, but it would have a rather predictable outcome. at Wrestlemania.

What he said about the WCW guys, and how their careers played out kind of holds weight, but yet again it doesn't. Goldberg walked away from the business due to the fact he didn't like the politics of the WWE, but it had nothing to do with how he was portrayed. Rey Mysterio's still a top guy in WWE. Booker T had a hell of a run too. So did Benoit, and Eddie Guerrero before their untimely, and unfortunate deaths. The rest, come on... If they didn't main event in WCW, what makes Sting think WWE's gonna build them up.

I can understand he doesn't trust Vince, but he's worked for Bischoff, and Ted Turner in the past... I'd rather take shit from Vince McMahon than play Bischoff's politics puzzle game.

"Now with that being said, you did a pretty good number on Paul there... But if you ever disrespect me like that again, I'll rip your throat out and choke you with your own tongue". -Taker to Big Show. 9/2/99

I rather see Sting do other stuff before he face Undertaker if he is coming to the WWE and beside it be first his WM for a star like sting and I don't think they like have him losing his first WM.

Sting won't join the WWE because he doesn't trust how he will be used. That's always what he says when Vince or anybody from the company approaches him. As far as working for Eric Bischoff, he just happened to come into TNA while Sting was already there (how much backstage power Bischoff actually holds is unknown). I do believe Sting would rather take Bischoff's crap than Vince's. Put it quite simply, Sting does not want to be at the bottom because he can still wrestle with the best of them (yes, at 52, he can wrestle with the best of them). With what's going on in the WWE right now, Sting doesn't need to join them ever.

Sorry, but I really don't get what the big fuss is about. It wasn't a "dream match" for me personally. I'd rather see a current WWE wrestler face him to be honest.
