I can’t believe that Jericho beat Taker. It says that Edge was at ringside but doesn’t clearly say whether he was involved in the match and helped Jericho win or not (not sure why he would help Jericho win when he said he was sick of him and beat him down on last week’s Smackdown, but then it makes Taker look really weak if he lost to the current joker Jericho cleanly).

Moreover, Jericho’s win against Taker, will project him stronger, as opposed to many who feel that Jericho is no match to Taker as Taker had beaten him thrice last year.

Chris Jericho defeated Undertaker in a No DQ match. Jericho picked up the win with the Codebreaker after Edge speared Taker.

Undertaker defeated Batista a no DQ match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The match ended when the Straight Edge Society, Chris Jericho, Kane and Matt Hardy interfered.

I read on Wrestlinginc.com that Edge speared Taker & Jericho hit the codebreaker for the win.

This is how they build Jericho as a ‘threat’ just like you always want. A good way to build him, I say.

I hope The Undertaker does face Jericho at WM 26 seeing how things go. I don’t want what happened to him at 2006 got repeated. Facing Kurt Angle in a classic at No Way Out but ended up facing Mark Henry at Wrestlemania 22 in one of The Undertaker’s worst matches of all time.

Jericho will not face Taker WM26 or they would not have put this match a about fourht time on smackdown in past 2 months. It was a No DQ match so that Jericho didn’t win Taker cleanly as Edge cost him the match.

Taker tried to throw Y2J on Edge during the match so Edge speared him to get revenge.

This doesn’t make Taker look weak? He got speared by Edge costing him the match. Undertaker puts people over that is what makes him so great. If he always won he would be another Triple H or Cena.

Edge will now fix it so jericho leaves the EC as Champion, he will then challenge jerricho as his right after winning the rumble, this leave the way clear for HBK V Taker II

The only way for Jericho to be a belivable threat for Taker now is by pitting him and Taker in a Triple Threat match. Because like u said, Jericho is no longer a big threat. I hope if it does result in a Triple Threat match at WM 26, the third participant would be Christian because Taker vs Edge has been done to death despite being a legendary feud.

Well, Mayank, look at it this way: If Jericho beat Taker, then that means his luck of beating The Undertaker at Elimination Chamber are almost Slim. They already have the match this Friday, however, Jericho wins. Then he’s gonna go on to say that he beat The Undertaker and this and the whole “I am the best in the world at what I do” bit. So a man with that much momentum is due to fail at Elimination Chamber. Plus, if it weren’t for Edge spearing the Deadman, then Jericho would have lost. So really, The Undertaker has to retain at EC.

I am guessing a Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania. Edge vs. Jericho vs. The Undertaker. Either Jericho wins the title and Edge challenges him for it, then Taker wants a rematch, or Taker retains, Edge challenges Taker, and Jericho gets involved to make it a Triple Threat.

Well, I don’t think Taker cannot pull a classic if he’s given Christian and Jericho to work with in a Triple Threat match.

Jericho’s music hits to interrupt him. Jericho said that Edge didn’t mention him as a possible match up because he was afraid of what he would do to him and that he knows he is Edge’s bad luck charm. He talks about Edge crying about his injury and making his triumphant return, only to say that he himself will never know what that feels like since he doesn’t get hurt.

Taker’s gong sounds as he and Jericho are set to face off in a No DQ main event. Taker’s reaction was deafening as it was the first time he has come to Baton rouge in his Deadman persona and his first match period since his Big Evil days. Edge did commentary for the match. The finish came when Jericho went to the outside and got into an argument with Edge onlt for Taker to come from behind and attempt to throw Jericho over the table and on top of Edge. Edge moved at the last minute and he and Taker had a stare off before Taker threw Jericho back in the ring. Edge let his guard down and it resulted in Taker giving him a boot to the head. Back in the ring, Taker hit the Last Ride on Jericho, but before he could pin him Edge hit him with a Spear. Taker sat up as Edge was making his way up the ramp. Taker went over to collect Jericho’s carcass only to be hit with the Code Breaker and be pinned. Jericho wins as the fans boo and exit the River Center.

Oh ! common Guys we are just fighting among ourselves that’s the bottom line as the time we watched taker vs hbk match at wm25 which seriously blow’d our mind for good as it was a classic matchup and now ur hoping that taker shud get the opponent of his caliber so we can have an another classic just like the match at wm25. So Guys listen up it doesn’t matter if he faces Jericho at wm26, wwe is just trying to make wrestlers as heel or face just to put up a great fued but in if u think in real Jericho has that much of caliber to make the match of his life against taker. So it doesn’t matter if he had wrestled hbk last year n now he is wrestling jericho this year if that happens for example so it’s not that it’s not gonna be a good match ..it is going to be a good match because you can’t get matches of that much of a caliber as we saw at wm25.
We just need to make up our mind that what we want to see
1. The main objective is the streak to live
2. Taker’s match at wrestlemania should be a (5 star match) and that can’t happen every time
3. The opponent he will face …!!!
Currently i felt that …i am talking about the phenomforever fans at this site they all just talk about the (a)streak and i understand it really important for all of us and for taker to keep it forever and hope it never ends.
(b)Then we talk about the opponents he will choose at wrestlemania and then when it’s becoming a reality that for example it’s looking like jericho will face taker at mania26. So now we are making perceptions that jericho is not worthy to wrestle taker he is weak, he is a clown, he is a bully …seriously wats wrong with u guys all want what is good for you u need the streak to remain intact, u need a perfect opponent that much of a caliber as taker and you all want the match to be a 5 star …So for your kind information that’s not gonna happen every time.

Edge in a tweener at the moment. Right now it is unknown what he is so he’s just taking out everyone. But I’m assuming the storyline is going toward, is it smarter to let Taker have the title or Jericho? For Edge, it’s better off in Jericho’s hands because Edge hasn’t lost to him yet at Wrestlemania. Edge know’s what Taker can do so it is better to avoid that confrontation. Besides, Edge is facing Batista next week so Edge is playing the face in the match.

Edit: Ah, it appears Wrestlezone finally put up the smackdown spoilers and it reveales Taker actually kicked Edge in the face with a boot. Looks like Taker asked for trouble.

im sorry, but i just dont think christian is a worthy opponent of facing taker, especially at wrestlemania. he may be a pretty good wrestler and very popular now, but he was such a nobody to me a few years ago, and he is still not a main eventer. after facing top guys like batista, edge, hbk and then to face christian doesnt seem like a good idea. im not underestimating christian, but if someone was to say cena vs christian at mania it would sound like a joke, right?

There’s no scenario in the making as of now for Christian vs Taker.. so I doubt it will happen, but man, that would be a FUN match to see! I like to see a Christian-Taker feud..it would be really fresh.

Well, very often Taker does face rising stars like he faced Orton, etc. So why can’t he face Christian this time who’s the longest reigning champion on WWE right now and it could be for the unification of the WWE/ ECW belts, an Christian might say he has never been defeated for the ECW title (I don’t know if this is right) or that Taker has never defeated him.

Have you realised that Undertaker is using The Last Ride a lot more as his finisher now. He used it against Rey Mysterio at the Royal Rumble and used against Chris Jericho in their match this week, wonder why?

But as somone who has been capaigning for Jericho/Taker I’m surprised you reacted badly to an attempt to strengthen Jericho.

In regards to what this weeks Smackdown gave away about who Taker will be facing at the big one…

My vote sitll goes to Shawn/Taker with Jericho/Edge as well. Each episode of Smackdown makes me believe this more and more.

Why the hell are so many Taker fans here opposed to a possible Taker/HBK rematch? This fued has had one, ONE, match in the past 12 years. Hardly a long lasting fued. How can any fan of quality entertainment not wanna see another Taker vs HBK match? The only reason many Taker fans are opposed to this match is cause it raises the possibility of Taker losing due to last years match. I’m a huge Taker fan, but I honetly wouldn’t mind the streak to end to HBK, but only if the rematch itself can top last years. With that said, my personal preference would be Taker/HBK/HHH. That would keep the Taker/HBK fued alive to a certain extent, since it generates great crowd reaction and has a rich history. Adding HHH to the mix will at the same time add to the conflict to DX. Those dynamics can mesh well and create a memorable triple threat match at WM, and the first for Taker.

Undertaker vs Christian? Please ….
Undertaker vs Y2J. I’m all for it but I think that’s a lost cause since Y2J vs Edge looks set in stone.
Taker vs Shawn vs Hunter is the way to go. Make it happen Vince.

I didn’t know how the match went when I posted that. Later on I read everywhere that Edge speared Taker, so then I’m happy because this pushes Jericho up and makes him look strong after beating Taker (something that I wanted) and at the same time maintained the respect for Taker’s character by not letting it be a clean win, so I am happy. Earlier I thought that Jericho had got a clean win (the spoilers were incomplete then) and I didn’t want that because it hampers Taker’s character. And the DQ was not called because it was a no DQ match (probably for the same reason, to allow Edge to spear him). I still want Taker vs Jericho at Mania because Jericho can pull off a classic with Taker.

I truly believe that regardless of how many times Shawn faces Taker at Mania, he won’t be able to end the streak so NO, I am NOT scared of that. But I think the drama won’t be there. Would you be surprised if Shawn kicks out of a tombstone again? Would you be surprised if Taker kicks out of 2 super-kicks again? No…. then what’s the point, it won’t create the same amount of amazement. Taker’s streak has been a great way of creating good rivalries and pushing younger stars like Orton, Batista and Edge, so the business will probably benefit more if they allow some other star to try a shot at breaking it (though it won’t break, but the star will still get pushed). Shawn had his chance and lost it – now its somebody else’s turn to try. Another chance at the streak will fetch Shawn nothing.
