Lets not beat about the bush. Let’s just call a spade a spade and tell it like it is. That match was awesome and STILL your World Heavyweight Champion.. The Undertaker. It’s really all you need to know. Despite the presence of The Big Show I felt this match was a solid effort especially on ‘Takers part. Providing a solid presence throughout. Many figured his recent triple/four way matches have been to aid him in recovering from his injury. However in this instance The Undertaker was right in the thick of it for the entire match. Was it of epic standards? Perhaps not, however I feel this feud is far from over and this was a perfect start.

Here’s the play by play for those of you that need to know!

World Heavyweight Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Big Show vs. The Undertaker
Out first for this next match is one-half of the Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho. The other half and second challenger in this match, Big Show, is out next. Feels like they might be rushing things here, maybe just with the entrances. Everything stops but a big Undertaker chant from the crowd. The bells start tolling, the flames rise and out comes the World Heavyweight Champion. We get formal ring introductions before the bell rings and we get ready to go.

Jericho and Show look like they’re on the same page to start things off as they catch Taker in the corner and beat down on him for a bit. Undertaker tries to fight back, but the teamwork of Jericho and Show is too much to overcome as they trade off with Jericho kicking and Undertaker punching Taker. Show launches Undertaker into the corner and he drops him with a clothesline. Jericho clotheslines Jericho over the top rope but Taker lands on his feet and drags Jericho to the outside. Taker pounds on Jericho for a bit, before working over Show’s midsection with lefts and rights. Undertaker goes for a big boot on Jericho, but Jericho moves and Undertaker ends up straddling the barricade. Jericho knocks Taker over the barricade and holds him up for Big Show, who hits a knockout punch to Taker’s stomach.

Show and Jericho are finally able to get Taker back into the ring, where Jericho stomps away at Taker. Jericho directs Show, telling him to stand on Taker’s throat. Jericho goes to the outside and punches away at him. Show pounds on Taker in the corner, and the Tag Champs send him across the ring. Show sends Jericho into Taker, but Taker moves and Jericho’s shoulder connects with the ring post. Undertaker is able to fight back against Big Show, connecting with a jumping lariat and sending Show to the outside. Undertaker hits a couple of big splashes on Jericho before sending his head into the turnbuckle, but he gets pulled to the outside by Show. Undertaker sends Show head first into the ring post and he goes back up to the ring apron. Jericho tries to surprise Taker with a springboard dropkick, but Taker connects with a big fist instead. Taker goes for Old School, but Jericho crotches Taker on the top turnbuckle.

Jericho tries for a superplex, but Undertaker fights out. Jericho is persistent, comes back, and connects with a superplex on the second attempts. Jericho tries for the cover, but Undertaker is able to kick out at two. Jericho mounts Undertaker and hits him with a couple of big rights before going for the lionsault. Jericho connects with Taker’s knees, but he’s able to immediately lock in the Walls of Jericho. Jericho keeps Taker in the middle of the ring, but Big Show makes his way into the ring and catches Jericho with a chokeslam. Show tries to chokeslam Taker, but Undertaker counters with a DDT and all three men are down.

Jericho tries to pin Taker, but he kicks out at two. Jericho tries for the pin on Show, but Show kicks out with so much force it sends Jericho to the outside. Show and Taker trade blows in the middle of the ring with Taker getting the upper hand. Show gets his hand around Taker’s throat and tries for the chokeslam, but Taker tries for one of his own. Jericho comes in and hits Show with the title belt, but falls victim to a big boot from Taker. Undertaker tries for the cover but Jericho kicks out at two. Taker sends Show to the outside. Taker picks up Jericho for the last ride, but Jericho has the belt and he smashes Taker in the head. Jericho slowly makes the pin, but Taker is able to kick out at two.

Jericho teases the Tombstone, but Taker reverses into tombstone position. Big Show catches Undertaker with the knockout punch and goes for the pin on Undertaker but Jericho breaks things up. Jericho goes for the cover but Show breaks things up. Jericho tries for the code breaker, but Show catches him and tosses him aside before hitting the knockout punch.

Big Show tries for the chokeslam on Taker, but the Undertaker is able to counter with Hell’s gate. Undertaker clamps down, and Big Show is forced to tap.

Winner: The Undertaker

First thing: Taker won!!

Now, this PPV in general felt weak, hollow and sometimes rushed, it felt like they didn’t care much. I want to believe it’s because they are saving strengths for the upcoming TLC PPV, but boy this PPV was flat.

I thought Show was going to be out of the match more time and let Taker and Y2J do their magic but they also rushed this match, they could have delivered in many ways than what they were allowed, again, maybe there’s a hell of a TLC match waiting in the horizon. IDK, I didn’t notice Taker being slow or limping or having trouble to perform, I think this was a creative decision and not a health’s issue since most matches suffered the same fate. Orton didn’t wrestle for more than 5 minutes, Batista vs Rey lasted like 8 minutes, the main event wasn’t that spot heavy, etc.

I think during tomorrow’s RAW 3 hour special we’ll know a bit more about Taker’s road to WM and his next possible mini feud until then.

I agree, Taker won and that’s what should matter!!

Yeah, Taker retains! Jericho will probably come and say that he was not the one who was pinned, hence he still deserves to be the # 1 contender. As for his alliance with Big SLow – it looks like it will soon come to an end. Either Legacy or Mark Henry/ MVP will win the belts from them.

i read online that Taker is going to drop the title to stupid Batista at the Rumble, this better be just a rumor.

Hail Undertaker!

Good to hear that Taker looks fit.

Expected Kane to interfere, but a betrayal from one of the brothers looks out of question for now, and I admit that I got that wrong.

I checked out on the re-mixed BOD entrance. Does this signify something? A JeriShow vs BOD for the Unified Tag Titles in a TLC match??

i forsee a long title reign…and the last it shall be. about 4 months left to go…

Posted by ragr

I knew that taker was going to win, but thought cena would lose. Anyway at least taker still has the title.

what do you guys think about this.i read online that Taker is going to drop the title to stupid Batista at the Rumble, this better be just a rumor.

well I dont think that will happen and thats all im saying.

Only time will tell. It is possible, though. But I’m expecting this to be a long reign – maybe we can see Taker defending the title for the 1st time at Mania.

Long life to the Undertaker is the best.

Taker will defend his title vs Batista at RR 09 and in WM 26 against Jericho. Period!

I think it was a one-time thing. While holding the WHC, it probably doesn’t make sense for Taker to go for a smaller title (tag-team). BoD are more about destroying opponents now, rather than going after titles. This could mean a face turn for Kane (well, he is always a tweener but at least now he will be more on the yeah-side rather than the boo-side). I will be happy if this results in a Kane vs Big SLow feud though, as long as Kane comes out on top!

Posted by Belgiandeadman

There is truth in your last statement mayank!! But you have to admit that BOD vs jerishow for the tag titles is still a nice match!?
I think that BOD will be arround for a while, just like there new remix entrance!

To get to the PPV, i agree that it wasn’t the best surivor series we have ever seen. The two survivor team matches @ the start where very much the same!! It’s nice for kofi that he won. But still BORING!!

In my opinion WHC-match was the highlight of the PPV!! And that’s the most important.

yay taker won !!!!

can anyone tell me when edge is expected to return because when he does return hes going to fued with jericho so that may damage taker v jericho for this wrestlemania and thats why i think it will be taker v mr mcmahon another buried alive match like at survivor series 2003 but this time taker wins and that will be the last time we see mr mcmahon in his character role.

Why not the BOD? I’m sure its not on WWE’s itnerary right now, but it’d be great to see the BOD capture the tag team titles once again. They, are the first undisputed tag team champions, even though WWE intentionally ignores its own history.

Thanks Jen for the Good News!

It sounds like it was a great fight and the best thing to know is that Taker got to keep his Title
Now Talking about something else yes he will be defending his Title against Batista and CM Punk
I just hope they don’t do the same thing they did when Batista tried to Break his Streak or The Last
Man Standing Match. Anyway I hope they air some of this on Friday night Smackdown.
“HaPpY He WoN” : ).

Undertaker is the best and of course won!! Well i live in DC and got VIP tickets in Verizon Center’s Executive Suit Level and the view was clear and perfect, but unfortunately forgot my cam to show u guys any pics or video, but i rather though Takers entrance was same as the ones at smackdown, i thought at a ppv it would be bigger, but Oh man first time I saw Undertaker as the Deadman live and what a freaking presence baby!!! It is awesome to see him live and best thing was his entrance and moreso his celebration walk after the match is sick!!! Match was kinda week but i though big show did a good job, Taker didnt do any special moves if i remember correctly, only hells gate, but he was about to slam big show on announcers table but jericho saved his fat ass…rest of the show was ok but i think the orton vs kofi team was the best, kofi was awesome with some nice moves…and right before their match started Shawn gave HHH a sweet chin music, leaving everyone shocked includin cena and the fans!!! and as for the crowd….Cena got booed big time, there were chants “Lets go CEna, Cena Sucks” which made no sense but they did boo him, DX got a good reaction but oh boy when Taker showed up in the runway, The whole crowd went nuts, Taker truly is the best!!! People were chanting “Undertaker” for a good 3 mins!! but when his gong came on the entire arena got lil dark but not entire pitch black which disappiontted everyone!!! kinda weak to ok show but Undertaker is awesome and a Lifetime experience to see him enter the ring Live!!!!

I like that idea Alex I would love to see the BOD versus Jeri-Show at TLC for the Unified Tag Titles, Who agrees?

Posted by Hombre Muerto

Well, it seems like Jersihow will be defending the tag titles at TLC against DX, so no betrayals for now in both teams which leads to Cena vs Sheamus at that PPV and Taker facing…………..it seems after a little speech at RAW: Batista.

Batista said Taker was his and so the WHC, he said the usual stuff when they go after the title, that he’s the best that he destroyed Rey, etc; but then Kane came out and asked Dave to make an example out of him which made The Animal leave the ring with a smile on his face.

So it seems that either we have a Batista/Kane feud which will bury Kane or a Taker/Batista program.

If Taker is facing Batista I have one thing to say: Taker should defend his belt at WM……

Well, none of Taker’s opponents are going to get repeated, so write that off. The only opponent which got repeated was Kane because they had to even out on the number of victims with the number of victories (earlier he had defeated Big SLow and A-Train together in the same match). No more repeats of opponents are happening again.

Why should Taker go after a smaller title and focus on tag rivalries when he is already holding the bigger title? It makes sense for the ones holding smaller titles like US/ IC/ tag belts to go after the biggest belts like WHC or WWE belt, but the reverse doesn’t seem like Taker-material to me.

Hombre Muerto wrote:

Yeah, there will be a Kane/ Batista feud, it looks like. I had earlier thought that it would be Kane vs Big SLow, and Jericho vs Taker. But now, perhaps the WWE is taking it a little slowly. They will probably put Big SLow vs Jericho and Kane vs Batista. Given the push that he has received in the recent years, Batista will beat Kane (who will have no problems in losing to that idiot because he is losing to just about anybody and everybody since the last 1.5 years). Jericho will somehow out-smart SLow. Then, triple threat between Taker, Batista, and Jericho at the Rumble. My guess is that Taker will retain and then face Jericho at Mania.

Posted by Hombre Muerto

AHH, OK, my bad, what I meant was that Taker should not drop the title to Batista and instead he should defend the belt at WM against Mr number 18 (Cena or Y2J).

Most people claim Taker will drop the title at the RR or maybe inside the EC, that could happen, anything can happen, Taker could get stripped of the title again in a conspiracy orchestrated by Vince to get rid of the deadman once and for all. He can get cheated, which hasn’t happened since the screwjob, a new opponent could cost him the match, I think you know what I’m talking about we’ve been served with many of these gems through the years.

But having Taker enter at WM as a champion is new, yes it could be predictable that he retains but as you probably know facing Taker at WM is not about trying not to lose, which you will, it’s about showing who you are and what you can do, if you face Taker you have everybody’s attention, you will have to work on promos and get in main events in the road to WM. Now if you face Taker to end the streak that’s something big and if you add the fact that you might as well walk out as a champion is even bigger because it might add a little “it could happen” to the equation.

I’d like to see Taker dropping the belt in the summer so he can take his usual time off and then return at SS to celebrate his 20th anniversary in the business maybe in a championship match.

Posted by VieSinCalaway

‘Taker won. Wonderful. Fabulous. Exceptional. Full stop and no more comment.;-))

The next PPV TLC will be DX vs Jerishow. Now does that mean DXs gonna get their first ever tag team championship; and end the Jeri-SLow alliance? So that will focus us into the main feud we’re waiting for: ‘Taker vs Jericho. Hope my prediction is right.

By the way I don’t think we’re gonna get anymore BoD big match of title seeking or betrayal. We all know why.

Posted by snorrz

the ppv was ok and both world title matches were pretty good but what matters is that the biggest legend ever is still the world heavyweight champion

Thanks for the new Digitals Jen
Enjoyed looking at them very much :).
