So, it’s finally happening! It’s the feud many of us have wanted to see for years and it has been set to simmer at a nice pace as we amble along to Survivor Series. The Undertaker finally steps in to battle against Chris Jericho and it promises to be every bit as exciting as dare I say, Taker Vs Shawn Michaels? In fact that was a feud without much offense and a huge payoff at the end. Jericho/Taker could very well be a nice piece of mayhem if both stars are allowed to shine to their fullest. Believe me, the idea of Jericho and The Undertaker in verbal sparring contests actually has me dribbling a little, I kid you not. This feud wont just be about the wrestling, it’ll be about who’s smarter and outright ‘better’. Now, a Deadman he might be, but a slouch in the IQ department he is not. Who said Zombies could only say ‘Braaaaaaaaaaaaaains’? He’s a walking talking thinking dead kinda guy and he has his finger on the pulse… I’m sorry I couldn’t help it. But in seriousness, I’ve said it once I’ve said it a thousand times. I love the man on the mic, he’s one of the best in my oh so humble opinion when he’s allowed to let rip his verbal ’smackdown’. So no match this week? No problem. I’d rather it was saved for the Pay Per View anyway. Call me old fashioned but I kinda like the ole slow burn method of feuding.

Right now it works best for our man as he recovers and it builds tension to the point that their showdown matches will be more than worth the wait. I honestly believe Jericho and Taker can do something magical together, I’m going to nod at the bout with HBK again. Yes, I think they could be that good if given the opportunity. The only fly in this otherwise perfect ointment? The Big show.

(Crickets)

Why is he there again? Does anyone actually care? Anybody? No?

Moving on. The Deadman had a lot to say tonight and one of these things made me laugh out loud. He is angry, he will take Jericho’s soul. He is an unhappy Undertaker.. why? Because Chris Jericho took away his chance to beat up his brother again. I think that has to be one of the most comical reasons for a title feud, ever. But in the world of The Undertaker, a more than acceptable reason for wanting to drag Jericho to Hell.

All in all, a good week. No ring work? no problem. Take, speak more. We love ya just the way you are.

Yeah.. and nothing this week. Hence, a simmer.

well hasn’t Halloween gone? But this article sounds just as scary. Jen I like the way you make things sound creepy like a snake sliding into light. Yeah, the feud we all waited for (sorry if you are not waiting for it). Hope it will be brills, and we know it certainly will. I think this is almost the last chance for WWE to correct their mistakes. Oh well, just hope they do it properly. Full stop.

Taker you rock even if you don’t wrestle just being able hear your voice this week is good enough for me!! Finally the Taker/Jericho feud has come on the horizon!! Go taker!! The big show should not have been in this match with the deadman and jericho, Big show yet another survivor series in the mix.

It goes to show Taker does have a heart…well sort of. His two most favorite things is to aid Kane and beat up Kane personally. Funny enough, winning the world championship is not on his happy list.

That aside, the concept of Big Show being there is to help the Jeri-Show alliance end and sticking to the concept of the world champions fighting a tag team in a triple threat match. Cena faces against DX while Undertaker faces the tag champions. I don’t mind Big Show being in the match because he’s done a lot to deserve his chance.

Statistically, Big Show is most likely to win the match.

Theoretically, Jericho is most likely to win the match.

Logically, Undertaker should win the match.

However, the TLC ppv the following month has me curious. Will Taker fight in a ladder match or tables match? Most likely table to prevent him from having to do high risk spots, although Taker is never one to refuse to do such. So we shall see.

Truthfully, I strongly believe Taker will win, but that small bit of doubt lingers in my mind that Jericho will pull the win somehow.

And factually, Big Show has zero chance of winning the world title because he is a Raw superstar. But we shall see.

First when I saw this promo I thought, hybrid my ass, the lord of darkness is back!
The way he talks, the way he got physical with Chris Jericho, and the LOD coat of course but that was going on a bit longer. It was very lord of darkness style.
I think Taker just reached a new persona as he is still wearing the hat & coat with sleeves sometimes.

Tom not sure if you were saying this but it wont be taker v jericho next week becasue smackdown is taped in the uk and its taker v punk in a casket match for the title.

The cremistry with taker and jericho was awsome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M40ap8_UJVs

Posted by Dan

Wow, wow, wow. ‘Taker may get criticized for his over the top lines sometimes, which tend to be the same old, same old, but you still hang on every damn word he says. He’s also noticeably cutting more fluid promos now, and if you combine that with the long black hair and leather overcoat you can’t help but see shades of the Lord of Darkness. This really may be a transition into a new persona, hence the constant switching between the hat and coat and LOD jacket.

Posted by Jackie

undertaker should change his clothing attire to american bad ass wearing black jacket. this will even compete to his first four personas.

Posted by Becky

I hope just last for this pay-per-view I really don’t want go same thing with Jericho like it was like with CM Punk because it gets old in my mind.

I don’t know what you’re saying but from what I understand, changing his clothes to
his american badass ones would totally be wrong for the current character.

Posted by Mayank Shridhar

He won’t change to the bad-a**. I don’t think he will change into a completely new character but I think the LOD jacket is mainly to show a darker and more angrier side of his. He can’t add anything more to his current character, I feel – at max, he can make one of his previous personas more dominant in the current one.

Taker well win, simple bigshow was say show was gona punch Taker but taker moved, so jerchio got in the way & bigshow punch jericho & Taker suddly has bigshow in tombstone or hes gates of hell thing wins. maybe

Posted by BillyofMaryland

Kane could still sneak into the fight, triggering a BOD vs Jerishow bout @ the next PPV for the tag titles. Undertaker & Kane were the first “Undisputed Tag Team Champions” so its about time they reclaim their yard!

Posted by Jr.Troopa

Why was Big SLow at WM25? (I would rather have saw the end of Cena/Edge) Why is Teddy Long obsessed over Tiple Threat matches? (Check the last 3 years of matches he’s anounced at PPV’s) Why have Jericho and Taker never faced each other for 10 years? (Jericho’s a coward)

And most importantly: Why didn’t Taker keep his promise of “I don’t know who you are or who you think you are but judging by that peach fuzz your growing on your chin, I’ve got more shower time than you got ring time and if you ever interrupt me again it will be the last time, and that is a promise” When Jericho interupted him last Friday?

All important questions! BUT, Finaly Jericho goes one on one with Chris Jericho. Only thing is… There is a high chance of SLow interupting the match… like 100%!

As good as this is already gonna be, your article made it even better.

i just finished watching smackdown on hulu.com and something is brothering me. i am not one for complaining but it seems that undertaker hair is getting worse by the year, i know its because of advanced age and common but it looks horrible, every-time he spoke i couldn’t take my eyes off his forehead lol, its so distracting and i can’t think of a solution that would solve his problem other then hair restoration, u know, little by little so the viewers wouldn’t notice he is doing it until he retires. it only if we could get word to him lol.

anyway its probably due to stress.

taker de immortal!!!

Great article. I can’t believe Jericho and the Deadman have never fought before. It’s about damn time. I’m a huge Taker fan, but I’ve felt lately he’s been forced into the role of a generic babyface. It gives me hope to see him moving closer to the lord of darkness of old, and who better to bring the mean out of Mark than Chris Jericho? This has the potential to be a feud for the ages. Not to mention, it frees up C.M. Punk to elevate a young babayface, which he is certainly sharp enough to do, being, I believe, a true professional and the best promo man of all the current heels.

Posted by AMRAN

hmmm great speech lol. i think big show spoils the picture but i think taker vs jericho fued is great for about 3 months and 3 ppv’s with big show out of the picture. but that makes me think who will be the undertakers wm 26 opponent. the only direction i see its going is towards JOHN CENA. it will be a match of the ages, the face of th wwe vs the phenom of the wwe. it would be a dream match, and i think its likely that this match may take place. all we have to do is wait and hope that, john cena is undertakers next opponent, and that the match will be epc.

The only thing I didn’t understand about his promo was the part when he spoke about the Survivor Series. He said all the foes he faced in the past fell before him. To me that sounds like he’s saying he never lost at the Survivor Series, which we all know is untrue. Whatever works though, it was still a great promo.

If anything, it sounded like a Wrestlemania promo. It is true that every guy he’s faced at Survivor Series has lost to him at one point. Including Big Slow last year. And it is almost 2 decades he’s been here @ Survivor Series. So…

Posted by Trindle

Yeah I get the idea was that anyone he did face at Survivor Series fell to him at some point in time, but I doubt it was a wrestlemania promo. Why would he have one when its survivor series. His survivor series record is pretty good though with very few loses. I’m surprised he didn’t mention the fact he beat Big Show last year in a casket match.

Posted by The Grim Reaper

I think that what is said is true. This feud can be every ounce as good as the ‘Taker/Shawn rivalry. But thus being said, should this (and most likely it will) culminate to WM and the rumors are true (although they never are) this shouldn’t be ‘Takers way out. I believe Jericho is a big star but to be the Undertaker’s last match…no.

Posted by Sebastian Schmidt

I love Taker using a bit of humor in his promo talking about fighting against Kane!

Posted by NDmion

Undertaker vs. Jericho, it’s not something I am looking forward to. Jericho is okay but I personally believe he is not at the same level as Taker, HBK, and HHH. Very few stars are. Either HBK and HHH would be infinitely better than Jericho. We saw a very short rivalry with Taker and HBK, want more. Taker vs HHH, we have not seen much, that would be one of the best rivalries ever. WWE writers are definitely loosing their talents.

Posted by takerrulz

i heard dat in this weeks edition of smackdown it will b y2j vs undertaker in a non title match

Posted by Kingpin

I am also up for this Jericho Taker thing, but I dont think HBK v Taker can be repeated. for example when HBK kicked out of the tombstone I expected it and in part welcomed it, Shawn has always been known for his endurance so the fact he kicked out was fine by me. However there is no way i’d like to see Jericho kick out of the tombstone, I just dont think it’d be right, thats why I can’t see it being in the same class as Taker – HBK.

as for the next PPV i see taker dropping the title, Big show throwing the KO punch then getting suckered by Jericho who will then pin the knocked out Taker, also with Kanes name being mention i wouldnt rule out a return to form for him.

Posted by Mayank Shridhar

Taker and Kane are definitely not going for the tag-team titles, I am sure. As for this match, it might be the way that Jericho and SLow break their friendship. It will be good because then (after getting rid of SLow), Taker and Jericho can focus on a rivalry for Mania. I am hoping Taker will retain the title at Survivor series.

Posted by Trindle

Well, it will be interesting to see how Jericho would get to Wrestlemania. Since Taker is champion, Jericho would have to spend the next few months clawing his way to win a chance at the title for wrestlemania, which means he’d have to win the rumble and Taker would have to retain the title until then. It’s a long shot, but it possible. Also, maybe for the sake of Taker, at Armageddon, instead of putting Taker in a ladder match, which is the concept of the ppv, WWE will do a BOD vs Jeri-Show just because which will break their team up. Or any other idea, but we’ll see.

We’ll also see how the Jericho/Taker idea goes over with their match next week.

I noticed a interesting pattern with WWE too. In 2007 CM Punk, then ECw champion, had a triple threat title match against the tag champs Miz and Morreson. Now Cena faces DX for the WWE title and Taker faces tag champs Jeri-Show for the world heavyweight title. It may be a coincidence, but it is interesting that all three world titles had a that sort of triple threat.

I agree with you friend. I too can’t take my eyes of his forehead. I feel it’s receding and some bald spots are visible, and it looks disturbing. We can only hope that Taker might go for a hair transplant. And also did you notice something unusual in Taker’s hair that touches his shoulders? Either it might be some kind of a wig or Taker had died his hair too dark.

Why does Taker have to go for a hair transplant, guys? Its natural – he is human. Let him be!

the main thing about the undertaker character is his hair that add to his image. if you see the undertaker of early to mid 90’s his hair were usually in front of his face. his was more famous with this image during that time. actor like amitabh bachan have also done hair transplant. because they are in such a professinal field so they have to make a image according to that. undertaker is a human but he plays the role of a superhuman, he creates supernatural things in wwe so he have to make his personality in such away. then he will be more and more famous. i personally was the the devoteedly fan of the undertaker of 90’s and i was no more the fan of the undertaker of his dramatical human side and i m an ordinary fan of the undertaker of his hybrid persona.

Posted by Mayank Shridhar

Don’t worry about it, he will probably not go for a transplant or something. I don’t think he is becoming completely bald – he will retain as much as he has, or maybe lose just a little more, which is still fine as far as he looks.
