I Quit and Knockout will favour Taker more i feel. so i will prefer one of these two. Last Man Standing will be rough as sLow is a half hippo and half elephant. so i will prefer to see any one of the last two. and i sincerely hope that Taker wins this one. though somewhere a nagging doubt remains. as Taker generally finishes feuds with matches of his own stipulations. these stipulations are sLow’s. so maybe Taker won’t win. but i will hope against doubt that Taker wins and ends this good for nothing feud.

Taker will never say “I Quit”. I think it will be a knock-out match. That’s the reason why its there in the stipulations, evovling from the knock-out done between Big SLow and Taker at No mercy. They are trying to cover up for the knock-out victory that Big SLow had which was not very well received.

All these things are pre-decided. Even if the fans vote for one kind of match, then the WWE can over-ride it and show a different % of votes. Its their system and they own it. They have to decide on the storyline, the scripting of the match, allow the wrestlers to practice it, etc – so all this is decided well in advance. The voting is just a means to make Cyber Sunday look different and get more viewership by making the fans feel they are ‘involved’.

Personally I would prefer a lastman standing match. Getting a knockout is nice, but to knock him out for a ten count would be more satisfying to me.

I like the I quit match. That way the gogoplatta is legal. I’d like to see Big Slow tap and bleed from his mouth.

Until last year, they allowed WWE fans to vote from the website, so everyone around the world can vote. I was in the US till yesterday and travelling on the day they taped Smackdown. Now I’m returning back to India and I don’t think I can vote for this. It wouldn’t have mattered anyway – the fact that the online voting has been removed and the only way to vote is via the phone (if you are in the US) speaks for it that the fan-votes are actually not counted but the WWE is perhaps using this as another means of making money!

$ 0.99 per vote extra apart from regular messaging charges – I guess all of that extra charge goes to WWE? How much would they gain? Its peanuts for them. Why can’t they let everyone vote online and actually be a part of it to some extent (close the voting early and then modify the storyline/ scripting based on the choice of the fans – that would be a real test of their adaptation capabilities).

Business is down. They can’t fill the arena like they used to. This text idea gives Vince some extra money. I’d rather do it online.

i work in tv and know that any phone vote that makes profit for the organisation is very well monitored by outside sources, therefore there is no way that WWE will be able to override a majority vote, if they did they would risk huge fines and vince would be foreced to resign, a similar thing has happened recently in the uk with tv firms fixing votes – this resulted in the biggest fine ever given to any broadcaster and all the top brass resigned. Therefore if its an i quit match then thats what it will be.

and now they’ve removed the web voting surely they should rename it Text Message sunday or even rip off fans sunday?

This is going to be the one PPV that they can’t override the votes. Texting votes definitely puts the fans in control of the stipulations, not the endings.

a banned match will be better just to remember that Vickie has make for taker.

I would like to see a Last Man Standing match rather than a KO match because a KO match will be boring it will be more like a Last Man Standing match the only difference will be that there won’t be a ten count and referee will check wheather someone will be able to continue so that he can stop the match. It will be more impressive for Taker to knock the Big Show down for the ten count which is also a knockout. I would also like to see an I Quit Match between them which will be more brutal more violent and i wanna see Big Slow bleed and would like even more to hear him say I quit. it kinda sucks that we can’t vote unless we live in america. But anyway I want this feud to end as soon as possible and the best way to end it will be at Cyber Sunday in a gimmick match with a win for Taker. So that taker could go after the title and HHH at Survivor Series.

Undertaker has entertained most of us off andon for years, and I myself would like him to take Vickis’ position.
I’m so tired of the grey areas and gang approach to matches. I would like to see something better than the matches she puts together from so called vengance and other silly things like “my man wants the title”.
We all know , when she called Undertaker back, she would have done anything to get him on her side, and when he did not go for it, that started the dumb and stupid relationship between her and Big Show, who would do anything for a shot at a title match.
Why can we not have someone who see things in “black and white” with matches thought out not felt out! Maybe then I could get more time with my kids watching matches other than Undertaker matches and tripleh matches. May be it’s the music, but they love “The Taker” much, and like the triple h too.

If that is the case, it could be possible this year onwards. However, I think that until last year when they had online voting, they definitely rigged it the way they wanted it. I remember reading on Wikipedia that Vince owns voting rights on WWE as well.

They have to rehearse the match (with reduced impact moves – no actual beatings to avoid injuries) before the actual show to practice for it because they need to ensure they remember all the moves, and ensure they end it on time. Each match is allocated some time which it should not exceed otherwise they will be taken off TV before the match is over.

mayank you are right in previous times wwe would have been able to rig a vote as online voting costs nothing, however theres no way an organisation the size of WWE would risk its rep by rigging fans text votes and effectively ripping of fans and taking the’re money for no reason.

hey folks, all of you are for one match or the other. i personally want The Undertaker to win and be it any one of those three. how many of us here want Taker to win? forget the ending of the feud or ending of any storyline. just tell me, as fans, how many of us want out of our hearts that Taker wins, be it what it may? i will always want my Deadman to win. i will love all kinds of matches in which he registers wins. WWE or vince can not possibly own any of the vote, if this was the case it would be a scandle and TV Watchdogs would pull WWE from the air, where ever it is that you have read this have got it wrong.

Last Man Standing or Knock out match, thats are my favourites. But the most important thing is the victory over the Show. So it is uninteresting for me wich type of match it is going to be.

Wrestling is choreographed and thus for some matches, although not all, they rehearse it a day before or so to try out the grounds for special occasions, like PPVs. Like an actor running through a script before the actual set, kind of.

Vickie and Big show in a casket and taker burn it like Kane in 1998,after that Undertaker go to the tittle.

Whichever way, I hope that the Undertaker does finish this feud. The whole angle with Vikki, and now Big Show (or, Big Slow) is, as many of you have said – very boring. Very unimaginative. And, I don’t see why they are trying to get The Undertaker build Big Show. They should develop a really interesting feud for The Undertaker. The old feuds, with the mystique, the mind games, the great matches, were superb.

Kingpin, they can broil the chicken and eat it then. That would freak out the rated pg audience. Seriously though this feud probably won’t end at this show. I’ve read about a casket match being advertised at the December 9 taping of Smackdown in Bridgeport Connecticut between Slow and Taker.

i think Mayank is right, i think he introduced the gogoplata as protection for the knee, i think the reason they banned it is because its too brutal and i heard the wwe where trying to make the show more child friendly, for that reason i dont think we’ll ever see it again on tv – house shows maybe but not tv.

The child friendly idea nearly brought the WWE down before. They were doing that when WCW was putting the boots to them. Then the attitude era started. WWE needs to understand that alot of their fans aren’t kids. I’m 37 years old. I want an aggressive product. There’s more fans like me out there too.

Gogoplata is lesser child friendly than tombstone piledriver! If children see blood coming out, its really not that good. That could also be a reason why they decided to ban it.

yes your right i’m 33 and enjoy the tougher side to it all, at the moment they edit the day tme
version of smackdown, i dont understand why they dont continue to do this, if something like the gogoplata is used surely in this day and age they can edit out the blood for the daytime version, and if you look at the crowd on each taping you can see they are mostly adult anyway.

they have the technology these days to cater for adult and younger viewers.

They usually edit the color out on the tv now in promos. They can do that on ppvs too.

no Mayank, as far as i know, the knee worsened when Taker unwantingly applied gogoplatta to big daddy v, it stressed the knee beyond a certain limit. Taker did not realize it at first. but he started to feel the pain. and then the day he executed it on henry, the case was lost. the knee went wild. Taker admitted to the pain afterwards backstage to trainers. then the storyline rose of the move’s ban. that application on khali on the day they strip Taker of the title was just for Taker to ensure whether it was ok or not ok for him to use the move. if you had noticed closely, Taker failed at the first instance. khali made it look as if somehow it had been broken. but Taker did apply it alright at last. and this time the knee totally snapped. as he released khali i noticed the jerk that Taker underwent. that was unnatural. trying to get up Taker had to limp. and after that his limp became more prominent. the gogoplatta worsened his knee and risked it. so to cover up the ban had to be written. now as his limp has gone, and his knee is near 100%, the gogoplatta will again become legal soon.

and as far as i know, the introduction of the gogoplatta had nothing to do with tombstone being heavy on his knees. he started an improvised tombstone to help his knee, but gogoplatta was introduced to add spice in the banishment of Taker initially. being an athlete myself i know that the gogoplatta will be heavier on your knee than the tombstone.

I think the real gogoplata might be taxing on the knee but surely Taker executes it in a relaxed manner because the blood which comes out is not real, and he doesn’t hold them in the “complele” actual hold. As for the tombstone, it is again not a real tombstone piledriver because he does not really drop them on their heads but he takes the entire bodyweight of the opponents on his own knees instead – that is why it could be taxing on the knee. Imagine doing that to Mark Henry – I can’t believe that anything can be more taxing on the knee that a tombstone (amongst all moves that Taker performs) due to the impact with which he comes down.

If you remember Big Daddy V was too big for the original move, that’s why the variation we saw on him took.

He was too big for the triangle choke, so Taker had to improvise with the Gogoplata. WWE chose a good way to introduce the move.

I like the move. I hope the ban ends. It’s a finisher in the vein of the MMA style endings they want.

I’ll let him find out on his own. I just replay the one from Backlash for him all the time. It’s my way of paying him back for when he doesn’t listen.

Some kids won’t understand that its not real – its their way of looking at things and understanding them. You have to give them time until they grow up. If you told them it was not real, they will stop watching altogether thinking it is just acting like an action movie.

My oldest has a big imagination. He’s smart, he’ll figure it out.

mine loves wwe out of his heart and he, like me, loves The Undertaker. he is like a an Icon throughout my family. he takes it for real. i will allow him to figure it out himself.

I haven’t read the whole discussion, and I don’t plan to, so maybe you have already discussed this—I think the rivalry, unfortunately, won’t end after this match. Cyber Sunday is not especially known for being an event where rivalries come to an end. With the Triple H + Taker + Jeff against Umaga + Kozlov + Slow match scheduled for January ’09, I have the horrible gut feeling that the Undertaker vs. Big Show rivalry will not end before WrestleMania. I know it’s terrible, but I expect no more from that “creative” team of the WWE.

hey Andres, Taker, hardy, HHH will be involved in mixed feuds with umaga, kozlov, sLow. they will intra-fight and inter-fight. then they will also remain friends at the same time. the mixed feuds will be tremendously interesting. it will end in grand style with the three-three six man tag match. only thing that i can tell is that things are getting more interesting in wwe. the creative crew has seen sense of late. so it will not be as bad as only a Taker-sLow feud. 3::3 feuds are really interesting. believe me.

Don’t worry, the rivalry will defintley end at some point this year. Anyway, I voted for the I Quit match since Undertaker has a more likely chance of winning. I mean after all, there is no way in hell taker’s going to say I Quit.
