Here’s an interesting read from 1castle.com on the Undertaker’s other Streak… The one in appearing in video games… Here’s the full article below…
- WWE Superstar The Undertaker returned to the ring at a Waco, Texas house show on February 23, kicking off the annual WrestleMania speculation season. The focus is the ‘Taker’s incredible 20-0 undefeated streak at WrestleMania, impressive not only for the win-loss ratio but for the fact that no other sports entertainer in history has ever even appeared at 20 WrestleMania events, much less came out on top each time.
Due to his longevity, the Undertaker also has a streak in the world of video gaming. 42-0 is the hot streak for the legend, starting back with 1992′s WWF Steel Cage Challenge for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since that time, every WWF and WWE video game title released has featured the Dead Man, taking him through the 8-bit era to the modern-day consoles and no doubt the upcoming next-gen consoles as well.
The list of Undertaker’s WrestleMania victims is easily found on the internet. Below are the titles that are part of the Undertaker’s legendary video game streak.
- WWF Steel Cage Challenge (1992 – NES, Sega Master System and Game Gear)
- WWF Super WrestleMania (1992 – SNES and Genesis)
- WWF SuperStars 2 (1992 – GameBoy)
- WWF Royal Rumble (1993 – SNES and Genesis)
- WWF Rage in the Cage (1993 – Sega CD)
- WWF King of the King (1993 – NES and GameBoy)
- WWF Raw (1994 – SNES, Genesis, GameBoy, Game Gear, and 32X)
- WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game (1995 – Arcade and pretty much any console of the time)
- WWF In Your House (1996 – PS1, Saturn and PC)
- WWF War Zone (1998 – PS1, GameBoy and N64)
- WWF Attitude (1999 – Playstation, Gameboy, and N64)
- WWF WrestleMania 2000 (1999 – N64 and Game Boy Color)
- WWF Smackdown! (2000 – PS1)

- WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role (2000 – PS1)
- WWF Betrayal (2001 – GameBoy Color)
- WWF Smackdown: Just Bring It (2001 – PS2)
- WWF Raw (2002 – XBox and PC)
- WWF WrestleMania X8 (2002 – GameCube)
- WWE Road to WrestleMania X8 (2002 – GameBoy Advance)
- WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth (2002 – PS2)
- WWE Crush Hour (2003 – PS2, GameCube)
- WWE WrestleMania XIX (2003 – GameCube)

- WWE Survivor Series (2004 – GameBoy Advance)
- WWE Smackdown VS Raw (2004 – PS2)
- WWE WrestleMania 21 (2005 – XBox)
- WWE Aftershock (2004 – NGage)

- WWE Legends of WrestleMania (2009 – XBox 360, iOS and PS3)
- WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2010 (2009 – XBox 360, PS3, iOS, Wii, DS, PS2)

- WWE ’13 (2012 – XBox 360, PS3, Wii)
- WWE ’14 (2013 – XBox 360, PS3, Wii)TBA
(NOTE: I did not count games that were not official WWF/WWE products or the unreleased WWE Brawl)
While it’s likely no WWE talent will ever again do what the Undertaker has done at WrestleMania, it’s also highly unlikely any WWE Superstar will ever match the video game longevity and resume of the Dead Man. Who will end either streak? -
Edit: While the article sights that Taker appeared in 42 games, it’s stated on the GiantBomb.com that he’s actually appeared in 48 games. There’s 6 games that are not WWE sponsored games he’s appeared in… 48-0 is the actual number for Taker’s Video game streak.

omg that is so many freaking games. i didnt even realize….
of course after he retires, he’ll probably be an unlockable or DLC or something. I dont think they’ll just leave him out.

Ha ha another streak intact, good to know because I started to like wrestling and Taker through video gaming (WWF WrestleMania – the Arcade game, to be exact) before I started to watch actual WWE shows on TV , VHS and DVD. I found out on GiantBomb which are the remaining 6 games he appeared in:
Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special
WWE Brawl
Monday Night RAW
WWF Royal Rumble (Pinball Version)
Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium
Abobo’s Big Adventure

Taker has many streaks. WM, video games and I think the most PPV/TV appearances of anyone on the active roster, longest running gimmick and most entrance themes. I don’t think anyone on the roster has had more themes than he’s had and for sure, no one’s gone through as many changes. I saw a post that lists all this information. If I ever come across it again, I’ll be sure to post it. Alternatively, I can make a list too as I’ve spent a ton of time over the many years compiling a list of his themes, appearances, changes. I’m sure such lists are already on this site somewhere though.
And I too believe he’ll be a DLC for many years. I can easily see some sort of special edition where he’s on the cover and if you pre-order, you’ll get him. Basically the same deal as Stone Cold for WWE’13 for Taker in a future WWE game. For the special Taker edition, it’d be sweet to have every persona of his, each with the entrance themes, mannerisms, attires and everything else he’s had during those personas. They can incorporate that one of three ways or both if they really wanted to – either by already being included for use, unlocking them or having them intact so you can create them yourself. It’d be awesome to make you beat certain challenges in order to unlock them as it gives you a reason to keep playing. Of course, Paul Bearer and The Urn will have to be included for 91-96 personas. For 1990, Brother Love would have to be present to really make things complete cause even though I didn’t like that pairing, he was there so he’d have to be in the game for the 1990 period. Just wouldn’t seem completely perfect for him to be out there on his own without the managers. Special entrances like the Druids for WM entrances for WM14 specifically for instance should be there for you to unlock, somehow. I will totally pre-order that regardless of the price cause that alone will make it worth it. Ok I’m probably being far fetched here, but a CD should be included having every single version of every single Taker theme ever made cause for some reason, WWE refuses to release them despite them being some of the best themes ever composed by the brilliant Jim Johnston, someone who rightfully belongs in the HOF.
I think a special Taker edition of sorts came out some years ago for a Smackdown Vs RAW game as it included a DVD of Unforgiven 2007. But the special edition I’m talking about relating a future game will unquestionably blow that one out of this planet!! If such a special edition is ever made, perhaps when Taker enters the HOF or shortly after that would be the best time to announce its release. I doubt it’ll be released sometime around his HOF induction as HOF’s as of now take place during WM weekend and WWE games aren’t out till towards end of the year like October. Maybe for Taker, they’ll make a one time exception though which I totally wouldn’t mind. However, it would be better to release their games close to Christmas as that’s the time of year sales really go through the roof. Black Friday is another great time as sales are good that day too. But that’s too earlier in the year IMO and I, for one am not done fully completing the previous game by the time Black Friday rolls around so releasing it then would suck for me as I can’t play two wrestling games at once. Especially if they’re two WWE games.
The amount of streaks Taker has is amazing enough, but the obvious fact that they’re all still continuing just makes it amazing beyond anyone’s imagination. Just shows you a small glimpse of the star power and value Taker still has even after nearly 30 years in WWE.

when taker does retire the next game should have him on the cover and in the game should have all his persnoas.(spelling) apart from his wcw ones of course and it should have a mode where u play as taker in a story mode. His kids would sure love that and would honor the legendary deadman. I don’t think taker wouldn’t be included in the future games i mean without him we wouldn’t even be having this conversation, Because wwe would have ran out of business. I think he would be either already in the game or an unlockable he has been a massive part of wwe.

Well after he retires, I don’t think WWE will keep him in future video games. They took out Austin and Rock after they left WWE, and they were pretty big names in the company. I mean, if they did keep in Undertaker in their future games, that would be awesome because I always play as him, but I doubt it’ll happen.

If WWE can leave Hulk Hogan out of games then they will sure leave Taker out aswell, as much a legend as the man is, the company will move forward as Taker retires, for sure he will never be forgotten and wil rightly go into the HOF, however I think you will find that once he’s gone he will be just like everyone else, a memory, he is 20-0 at WM so nobody will forget him for that, although if you’ve been a fan of his like myself throughout his entire run then there are many things that you’ll remember him for, I can recall back in 94 when he was out for 8 months wondering when the day would come for him to retire, well that time is approaching us now and like it or not you will have to get used to it, they have done many DVDs featuring Undertaker and they may do a computer game if they think it would generate enough revenue, which at the end of the day will be what it comes down to

No they didn’t. They were DLC’s PLUS you were able to create them. On top of all that, Taker’s not on Austin and Rock’s level. He’s above them and Hogan too. Hogan has charisma, but his ring work was nothing special. Austin and Rock had their glory years, but Austin’s retired and Rock comes and goes. And throughout all of this, Taker’s been WWE’s one constant. Even if Hogan, Austin and Rock were megastars in their prime at the same era in WWE, without Taker, WWE still wouldn’t have lasted as long as it has.
So I feel in some form, he’ll be in future games. They have four ways of doing this.Either has pre-order specials, DLC or they’ll give you the ability to create and customize him or to unlock him by completing some kind of a challenge.
I mean if Lesnar, who shamelessly walked out on WWE could get on a game, surely Taker will! If the mid carders could get in, so can Taker. Taker generates money. So for that sake alone, they’ll include him somehow.
Maybe some years down the line after he retires, they’ll have one of Taker’s old school version in a game. Maybe they’ll have another legends or WM game with Taker in it or another WWE All-Stars type game pitting the stars of the present against those of the past and I can easily see Taker there too.
