As of this past weekend, the top matches planned for WrestleMania 29 were The Rock vs. John Cena, Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio, Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar and CM Punk vs. The Undertaker.
Besides Lesnar vs. HHH, it’s said that the rest of the matches could change between now and the pay-per-view. CM Punk could be added to the WWE Title match if The Undertaker doesn’t end up working.

As always, taking a wait and see approach with these rumors is highly recommended.

Damn Jack Swagger it sound so stupid you may almost think wwe made it up lol stupid jackass. After long time comming back directly major push for whc title at mania and then driving around with drugs what got to him idiot such a push and then in wwe most importatnt time of the year getting arrested hey should release him stupid clown.
And for Taker i think he is at mania But i think wwe just wait as long as possible for him to show up it some different after last years. I think cause the crying for punk to get repsect they maybe need Tkaer 1 or 2 raws for mania lol. Why he is the most repsected wrestler period in wwe. So Punk maybe loose agaist cena next week then week after he beg for respect maybe for 2 3 weeks.
I can see following happen Punk start the week after his lost to cena cry for respect then the week after again then he saying something like i got the longest title reign in 25 years and you got even more repect for partime wreslters like rock undertaker then for me and then lights off and Taker say something like you want respect beat me at mania and you get it.
I think also thats the only kind of build up they need this year cause of punk constantly begging for repsect so wwe maybe wait as long as possible with taker to show up.
And if taker wont show up for mania fine with me to why. If wont show up it means only Taker is not in good enough health and Taker wont let Fans wait a whole year and then give them a bad match so its a good thing then for him to wait a year and then mostlike in his last match give us a hell of a match.
Thats the only reason i think taker wont show up then he isnt in a good enough condition to deliver a great match and i think thats the whole point Taker wont let his fans wait a whole year to show up to deliver a bad mania match.

I hope its true coz I want del-rio vs Jericho…nobody gives a crap about swag/del match at mania
While I wouldn’t mind a Del Rio-Jericho match, Jericho’s not hanging around very long as his current deal expires after WM. We already have a part timer in The Rock in a Title match against a guy who doesn’t need Titles anymore in John Cena. Do we really need another part timer in a Title match? Personally, I’d rather see Del Rio vs D.Bryan or Punk, if Taker should end up skipping WM which remains to be seen if he does or not.

I’ve actually been thinking and it seems to me that Taker more than likely has already made up his mind on WM…. I mean it just doesn’t seem plausible that he would wait this long to give them an answer…. His respect for this business IMO wouldn’t let him leave them hanging on plans for the biggest show of the year…. I could be wrong but it just doesn’t make sense this close to WM… Let’s say he has already chosen not to compete. Does anyone else think that just maybe he would just go right out and say “i’m not competing this year.”….
This is why i am more and more leaning towards the idea that Taker probably already agreed to a match months ago….. and all these rumors and reports on his up in the air WM status are just set to heighten our anticipation.
Now i am purely speculating here but it would seem to me that they just might have a unique build planned for a Taker/Punk match….. I still also have this notion that The Shield may be involved in some way. If ya think about it yeah Punk could be a threat to the Streak but if you have Taker/Punk, no DQ, with The Shield ringside…. Now that would be an extreme threat considering they are portraying them as an unstoppable force… Any thoughts?

I’ve also believed Taker already informed WWE of his decision. This whole Cena-Punk thing was possibly done by WWE to keep us guessing instead of giving us what we wanted when we thought it was the perfect time to get it which was Taker returning this past Monday. if he did wait this long though, it’d be because he had a real good reason to whether it relates to his personal life or his health or even both. That’s just my thoughts on things.
I can’t see Shield and Punk doing business anymore. They didn’t interfere in Punk’s match at Elimination Chamber. That may have been because they had their own match that night. In fact, they never did business to begin with. Punk never helped Shield out. In the end, he was right. He didn’t have anything to do with Shield interfering in his matches because it was revealed that they didn’t work for him. They were paid by Heyman to interfere on Punk’s behalf. And unless Punk knew about that, he didn’t have anything to do with it. On RAW, Vince could fire Heyman or Heyman will give full attention to Lesnar or be aligned with both Punk and Lesnar like he presently is now as he hasn’t left either side yet. Regardless of which of those scenarios ends up happening, it seems to me that Shield has stopped getting paid by Heyman. We won’t even know this Monday if they’re still interfering on Punk’s behalf because they still have issues with Cena so if they do interfere, it’ll be to cost Cena the match without caring what happens to Punk. They can actually give Cena the win unintentionally by causing a DQ if that happens. Of course, Ryback, Sheamus and maybe Jericho if he works Monday night can even the odds and fight with Shield before they get there hands on Cena. My point in all this is Shield’s got their hands full and are busy to even try to take out Taker at WM. We’ll see for sure on April 7th, if Taker does indeed face Punk. If The Phenom does return on RAW, in saying all I said, I believe he’ll return after the match ends. I can actuall ysee Punk whining and complaining about his loss and then GONG! Just my opinion.
etienne, your thoughts?

maybe but if wwe really have there heart set on punk vs taker at mania then they have to make punk look strong like they did at elimination chamber maybe cena will aa punk but he kicks out but then cena accidently bumps into the referee but then punk catches cena in a gts and goes for the pin 123 has cena beat but the referee is down then maybe paul heyman distracts cm punk and hits him with the belt siding with lesnar and betraying punk then cena gets punk in the aa again and this time gets a 123 thats the only way cena and punk both look like threats for their opponents my opioion of what should happen then punk closes the show with a promo he says he has been unstoppable and has had the longest wwe title reign in 2 decades and says he had beaten rock at elimination chamber but the referee was on the floor and says that he would have beaten cena the so called face of the wwe 7 times then he says i should be the wwe champion im the greatest wrestler of all.,…(Undertaker’s Epic Gong Rings) Marking The Return Of The Phenom The Biggest Icon In History The Undertaker

This just in. Update on Swagger:
WWE sources note that Jack Swagger was scheduled to win the World
Heavyweight Title from Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29. No word yet
on what his arrest means for booking plans but WWE creative was working
late on Wednesday night to come up with ideas, which doesn’t sound good
for Swagger and Zeb Colter.
There’s talk that if WWE officials saw
fit to change the direction of the match, then Dolph Ziggler would most
likely get the WrestleMania match with Del Rio.
If Swagger ends up suspended and loses the WrestleMania match, the arrest altogether would cost him upwards of $250,000.

Here’s a possible curveball! Since The Shield has been kicking so much these past couple of months, have them face against another all star team.
At this point, there’s only one group that could possibly destroy The Shield… The Brothers of Destruction!!!
Remember on RAW when Randy Orton told Kane that he used to be so big and bad, but instead he traded in chokeslams and tombstones for anger management classes and hugs? And since Team Hell No looks like their on the rocks, why not have Kane go back to being what he used to be?
This time by bringing his brother, The Undertaker, and challenging The Shield at WM?! That match would be very beneficial for The BOD and The Shield! There are endless possiblities for buildups and storytelling!!
Besides, as cool Taker vs. Punk would be, something tells me that Punk’s quest for the WWE Title is far from over.

Ziggler vs ADR would be a much better match IMO
Better, but pointless IMO. Every MITB winner who took advantage of a vulnerable Champion ended up winning the Title. Knowing Ziggler, he will do just that. If he cashes in on a healthy Del Rio just to be in a Title match at WM, I’ll credit him for that. But he’d be risking the possibility of losing. Especially when you consider the roll Del Rio’s been on since defeating Show on SD and retaining in against him in two PPV’s in a row.
What would be better is if he cashed in on Del Rio at WM, the night after on RAW or at Extreme Rules after Del Rio’s match is over. That way he’d increase his chances of winning.
Besides with the Highlight Reel that took place on ME where Del Rio was the guest, seems like that’d be Plan B to me. I’m probably jumping to conclusions there though as their talk that night was mostly about Elimination Chamber with WM mentioned only a little bit. But they can use that discussion as the jumping point by having Jericho say that he said he’d go to WM to face Del Rio and although he didn’t win the Chamber match like he said he would, he’s getting the shot anyway. I’d love him to publicly talk a bit about Swagger saying thanks to Swagger who blew the chance of a lifetime by getting arrested while in the biggest push of his career.
Del Rio vs Jericho would be a great match. And like Del Rio, Chris is on a roll too. He had the biggest pop of the night at The Rumble and had a great showing there. He had a great match on RAW with Punk. And had another great showing inside The Chamber.
And think about this: Jericho and Ziggler have history with each other dating back to last Summer. IMO, they’re not done yet. Imagine the possibility of Jericho beating Del Rio and then Ziggler cashing in and winning the Title. Their feud would be reignited and I’d love that they gelled well together both on the mic and in the ring. I cannot see Jericho winning though as his current deal reportedly ends at WM or a short time later. But Del Rio and Ziggler have history too as they’ve faced off with each other recently. Ziggler could cash in on Del Rio and they would feud over the Title and face off at Extreme Rules.
Point is MITB winners should cash in on vulnerable Champions and not do what Cena did. That’s what it was originally intended for – for briefcase holders to cash in at anytime even on a vulnerable Champion after a match or in the case of Edge cashing in on Taker, after a beating. THat’s why everyone except Cena won the Title upon cashing in. Ziggler would be an idiot if he did what Cena did.

This Undertaker WM thing is actually making me mad I’ve been holding off on buying tickets until it was Definite that he Was going to be there but its getting too late to buy tickets and theirs no Information whatsoever it would have been great to go to my first and most likely only WM and see him wrestle for the first time but I Guess it’ll have to stay just a part of my Childhood Imagination
Sorry to complain and i know No One cares but i needed to post this somewhere since it’s been bothering me for a while now

I would have bet if Swagger actually won the Title at WM 29, that Ziggler would cash in. It’s been rumored for quite a while now that WWE is gonna turn Ziggler into a babyface. That would be the logical starting point. Now that Swagger’s WWE job status is in question, I think they may have Mr. Ziggles cash in on ADR instead, and continue as a heel for the foreseeable future.

I dont know why evry1 is so against ADR vs Sawgger i think it can be a pretty good match and and it are 2 of the better in ring performers, in this moment its something fresh instead of whole time same matches over and over again look how many matches sheamus and big show had for whc way to much.
And for the Taker to team with kane again against The Shield maybe its also a good one. Some ppl maybe not like it cause he wont wrestles single but the guy is already 20-0 lol.
And Brothers of destruction vs The Shield can also be a big treath for the streak cause shield never lost on a ppv. Its maybe even better for takers healt to cause he dont have to wrestle whole time.
Its just stupid but they even can Taker get pinned and kane win the match if they make it elimination. And other thing is they can maybe after the match let Kane tombstone Taker its bit ealry but they can already start up kane vs taker at mania XXX. Maybe a match at summerslam or survivor sereies who kane gonna win. And then at Mania XXX the final battle between the brothers i think kane deserves a final mania match against his brother for me i hate the fact hhh is more on it then Kane lol. And maybe if kane want to retire to they maybe die both in that match, Taker after the win or after the match lights off back on Taker gone.
Keep in mind wat foley said in that qoute is some truth 20 matters 21 22 not even realy matters just number next wat matter is 25 only wat mathers is that he wont loose.

@ Anan: You have a point that The Shield may have there hands full but I think it is still a possibility…. And there is also a possibility that Vince may be setting up Heyman to get to Lesnar. Whether its to start a build for HHH/Lesnar 2 or just maybe a Taker/ Lesnar match…. Its all really still up in the air at this point. We all know this time of year that wwe’s plans could change at the drop of a dime…. I mean look at the swagger situation.
Anyways I have a feeling Taker will make a big impact on the next Raw. Willing to bet that someone will be chosen to be victim 21. Lol
Good points. Victim 21 will be Punk. HHH is gonna go after Lesnar what he did to Vince so no Taker/Lesnar . Not this year anyway. And considering the health of both men, I doubt it’ll happen ever. But never say never so we’ll see. Personally, I rather see Taker vs Sting than Taker vs Lesnar. I’m sure you’d agree there. We’re the only two seemingly who believes Taker vs Sting is WM bound. But that doesn’t bother me cause when it does happen, I’ll be able to LOL at all the naysayers so they’ll be a ton of laughter to go around there if you know what I mean!
@Ed Burns:
Rumors are just that….rumors. It was rumored that WWE was considering a Ziggler face turn. But reportedly, those talks have ended. I’m glad because being a face would hurt Ziggler’s career because IMO, he’s a natural born heel. Regardless of his role, I can see him cashing in on a vulnerable Champion at WM or Extreme Rules or somewhere in between. Ziggler stated himself that he’ll cash in sometime between The Chamber & WM. In fact, he promised that. SO who knows? He may cash in before WM if Del Rio proves to be so vulnerable, that Ziggler will have no choice but to do so. Still, it’d be best IMO if all this was saved for WM, not before or after because it just seems right. It’s about time someone cashed in at WM. Bryan said he would and was hoping he’d wait. But he saw a perfect opportunity at TLC and he rightfully took it. So same could happen with Ziggler.
Steamboat was a face his entire career. The list of those on the current WWE roster who could go their entire career without turning face and Zigs is most definitely one of them. He fits the heel status that much.

Here’s my take on a possible WM29 card:
Cena vs. Rock 2
HHH vs. Lesner 2
Undertaker vs. CM Punk
Del Rio vs. Swagger
Kane vs. Daniel Bryan, Inferno Match (or some special stipulation match)
Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes w/ Dusty Rhodes Special Guest Ref (or some sort of involvement)
Some group vs. The Shield
Miz vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Antonio Cesaro
1 crappy match
Would love to see an arm-wrestling match between Mr. Socko and The Cobra, but only for the lulz
