WWE officials have offered Brock Lesnar a new contract. They want him locked in for another year before WrestleMania. It’s believed the new deal is similar to the deal he signed last year – several million dollars, a few major pay-per-view events and the TV shows building up to those events.
Lesnar has not signed the deal and probably won’t sign any time soon because that’s how he operates, likely negotiating until the end. Some within WWE are under the impression that he’s in the
creative plans for after WrestleMania 29.
Regarding a potential Lesnar vs. The Undertaker match, a source noted that Taker is really hurting bad and since Lesnar works a very physical style, officials are very leery of ever doing that match.

Guys, PLEASE take this rumor as strictly that – A RUMOR. It’s filed in The Rumormill section for a reason. Reports can be false and usually are.
The report failed to state that Lesnar’s health also may play a pivotal factor in this match not taking place.
I wanted Taker to face Brock so he can get his debt repaid. A debt I doubt Taker cares about at this point. On the flip side, this presents a unique opportunity for Taker to face more worthy challengers. Cena’s obviously inevitable. But I was thinking Jericho, perhaps Rock, Sting.

Yet another article that’s meant to depress us Creatures of the Night. I feel like I’m insane for having to write this, but Taker will return when he’s good and ready, and @ 100%. We don’t want him just to come back @ 75-80%, and only wrestle 1-2 times per year. If managed correctly, Taker’s got maybe 5 years left in him. He’s far from a desperate Flair or Hogan, who’re past their prime, begging for cheap spots, and alimony money.

im sure Taker is hurting and all but i could guarantee that hes not the one that wants the match scrapped… He probably really wants that match with Crock Leftnut… Him being a mma fan and all im sure he would love to take it to the level of physical that Crock competes at these days… but they are right for making that call. The dead man may have the fight in him but his body is payin the price for all the past torturous matches he has been in….. And of course leftnut has to make every one wait on his has to negotiate anything….. Typical…
Anyways… Yeah Anan i haven’t been able to actually sit down and add comments to some of posts as ive been working night shifts at work so ive been exhausted lately….. but ill be on more now that my crappy shifts are over.
He may not want it scrapped. But I don’t think WWE wants to put either of their health at risk for just one match. Taker’s too valuable for that. What I know is Taker would not wanna put anyone’s health at risk regardless of who they are, including or course his own of course.
Neither are 100% and due to the wars their bodes has taken over the years, they are not likely to be 100%. Way too much wear and tear on the human body which isn’t designed for the punishment. This is especially perhaps for Brock who had UFC fights which are more brutal than WWE as that is 100% real whereas WWE is not 100% real. But Taker himself isn’t too far behind Brock as the wars The Deadman has been in were so brutal, it’s rendered him to just one match per year.
Makes me almost wish the Taker/Mankind rivalry and the HIAC’s he was in, as epic as the feud and matches were, did not happen as they shortened Taker’s career significantly.
Envision the Mankind feud and HIAC never happening and imagine how many more years Taker would have and how many matches per year he’d be having right now? Not saying he’d be with WWE through the entire calendar years. But it’d certainly be more than one match per year. That’s for damn sure!
As for matches, too your point as well of the body of Taker paying the price. WWE and the talents can make decisions on what match to have against who and when, but it is mainly up to the bodies of the talents because of their body doesn’t allow, the talents nor WWE can control that and WWE can’t/should ask or expect them not put themselves at that high of a risk, physically nor can talents can expect themselves to. And yes, that includes Taker. He is human.
By the way, left a comment replying to you in the Bold Predictions For 2014 post.

While we may not want him to, he’s been doing one match per year. It’s likely to remain this way through the rest of his career. JR, who has stated that he communicates with Taker, has stated that he doesn’t see Taker ever being full time again. I have no problem with that. He’s earned the right to work whatever schedule he wishes to. I do agree that if managed properly with one of those factors being having one match per year, he can go another 5 years.
This extends the possibility for Taker and Sting on Taker’s end.

Taker’s match with HHH at WM28 was one of the most brutal matches of the past 5-10 years IMO and yet Taker dominated
HHH vs Lesnar was nowhere as physical as Taker’s match so I’m sure Taker can work with Lesnar perfectly.
These are just bunch of rumors as Anan said.Remember few months ago when it was rumored that Taker can barely walk ? lol and weeks later it was confirmed that he’s in a good shape and will work a match at WM29

Undertaker and Brock had a intense rivarly in 2002 (even UFC 121) beating the hell out of each other and that classic Hell in a Cell match and I don’t think I’ve even seen Undertaker lose so much blood in his career then that epic match. Don’t take the following as a hurtful commentt, I’m not but Undertaker I don’t think is ever able to compete in another brutal match ever again after tearing his body apart in the last 4 WrestleMania’s. His injuries are slowly getting the better of him and it’s only a matter of time before the dreadful ‘retirement’ happens. After 2 hours of 4 memorable matches don’t you think it’ll be hell on his body after the punishment he got? Of course.

Here we go again all the usual BS that comes out months before Wrestlemania where Taker returns yet again and steals the show. Taker banged up really? the bloke has not laced a pair of boots up for a single match in nearly 9 months and the only banging that Taker has been doing is McCool! It makes me laugh people talk as if he is a 85 year old man, stone me he is not even 50 yet don’t write him off and IMO for what it’s worth delivers fantastic matches still to this day, like a fine wine the older it gets the better it gets! I recon because Taker does not want his life in the public view when not working for WWE (keeps himself to himself) people feel the urge to write all sorts of BS because they cant get the truth straight from the horses mouth, for god sake give the guy a break. All i know it will be a sad day the day he does retire, Taker comes to an end and so does wrestling folks sad but true!

Oh yeah. I’d file this in the Undertaker News section if this was posted by Dr. James Andrews as he’s fixed WWE stars many times. He obviously did not. It’s not smart IMO to put trust in reports. As I said, they’re usually false and sometimes, only half the story is reported.

I understand wrestling is not real but can anyone tell me no one ever gets hurt? Or that some of those hits licks or grapples never connect? I’m just saying.
Opinion. No interest in a Lensar/Undertaker match just not.
I do agree Taker is problem not feeling he is ready for a physical match that we all are use to seeing from him so some time is problem what the man needs.
I am saying whatever Undertaker decides or does it will be worth it. We will not be disappointed. Who ever his opponent is @ WM I will watch. When ever he appears on tv or an arena close to me I will be there.
Yes. This is in The Rumormill where it belongs.
Never said wrestling wasn’t fake. Those who think that are just clueless people who haven’t laced em up once in their life. It’s not. WWE/pro-wrestling, as JR’s repeatedly said, is show biz. There are predetermined storylines and match outcomes. But that is where the fake part of it ends. It’s like a movie. Movies are entertainment. But the stunts are real and people doing them risk getting hurt. In WWE/wrestling, every match is like a straight combat fighting action scene without weapons unless it’s a specialty match where weapons can and are used.
Whenever you’re in a match, no matter what type of match, no matter the length, you risk getting hurt and you don’t leave the arena the same. Taker is likely never to be 100% as his body’s taken way too much abuse. And there’s only so much repairs/surgery can do. Not to mention the burn out for their insane, year long schedule. Taker doesn’t have a year long schedule and his physical condition may be a part in that although I also believe he has chosen to not be full time because he doesn’t have to and shouldn’t have to. After all he;s done for us, he’s earned the right to start enjoying his life outside WWE. Just wish WWE would take off from Thanksgiving to Christmas at least so the employees could enjoy their normal, outside of WWE life with their families and friends during the major family oriented holidays.
I trust Taker’s judgment. He hasn’t ever given me a reason not to. So whatever he does is no problem with me whatsoever as I know it’ll be good for the business and the fans. So for as long as he’s around, whenever he appears, you can bank on the fact that I will be watching closely as opposed to multitasking.

It’s not that needed the cleaarification. I feel other people donot realize the gravity of what these folk go through. Imagine it all with Ric Flair.
I personally am not entertainted with WWE as a whole. PPV’s are hit or miss with matches. Yes I felt last WM HHH and Taker match was not that good as the Hype reved up too. to me i could tell take was not performing his norm. Now thats MY OPINION. I expected more in that HIAC match. The punk and jericho match was good, rock and cena not so good.
Anyways, Anan, good and valid points. hed will never be the same and yes they all deserve a period of rest.
I am not going against anything you gotta say, agree with you. but im not talking out of my butt either.

Only thing I hate about WM Season… the “Taker in bad shape” stories… taker was in such bad shape prior to WM last year and completely dominated, no limping no signs or limitation or ring rust. Then taker was in such bad shape approaching Raw 1000 and what happens, he appears and is physical in the ring assisting Kane. These reports are just that reported stories to me until i see oherwise

Which is why I state always take reports as rumors.
RAW 1000…..he didn’t really do much. No one did. It wasn’t a match. It was a small segment that didn’t really take much time. The length of that segment made me feel like I just got through one of those short Taker vs scrub matches on Superstars/Wrestling Challenge in the 90′s. Yep. Felt that short. Still, YOU ARE RIGHT.
WM28….after the match, he seemed to have a bit hard time getting to his feet and staying there once he got up. He didn’t even get ip right away. He stayed on the mat, perhaps maybe sitting or something till he was helped up by HBK. He got went through a time match to say the least though and my guess is he was selling that. That’s just my opinion though. So yes, I agree with you regarding your points on WM28 too.
And yeah, I hate this about WM season too. What I hate more is the “This may be Taker’s last match. Taker will retire following WM.” rumors. What I like though is afterwards, when they are proven wrong, how I laugh at them every year for being wrong.

@Anan we just have to wait and see. Taker’s always proven the naysayers wrong.
Always means forever. I would say that more accurately, he has proven them wrong thus so far. But the guy’s human. There’s only so much he can take till it gets him to the point where he can’t do it anymore. If I were WWE personally, I’d use the rest of Taker’s once a year matches at WM career to be consisted of guys who are actually deserving to face him. IMO, Lesnar doesn’t fit into to that very short list.
And yes, it is a short list with jus ta few handful of guys. It’s seemingly perfect in a way cause it’s highly probable that Taker’s only got a few years left in him. I’d say till 25-0 unless he chooses to call it a career earlier than that. That leaves him with 5 or less opponents unless WWE decides on rematches again.
In the end, however, you are right. We always have to wait and see as that’s the best thing we can do far as Taker goes. Perhaps he will prove the critics wrong again. I certainly wouldn’t mind that one bit. In fact, I’m hoping that he does.

Its true that Taker’s no spring chicken, but he doesn’t look like he’s so “busted up” he can’t take it anymore. In likelihood he’s like Triple H who has it written into his contract that he gets time off to be with his family. Finally, Taker’s probably got some nagging leg injures from years of Deadman Walking (when he jumps to the mat), and tombstones? However, I thought that’s why Taker developed the Last Ride, and Devil’s Triangle? So he wouldn’t have to tombstone guys as much.

Yes that probably is why the Last Ride and Hell’s Gate were incorporated into his arsenal although before the Last Ride, he used the Chokeslam as a finisher for a while upon returning in 2000. He stated such on a Byte This interview back in 2000 (long before he started using Hell’s Gate, which is in real life, the gogoplatta, an MMA submission move) so you’re right about that. Years of using the Tombstone probably contributed to his leg problems. I do think other reasons for his leg problems are due to guys smaller than him attacking he leg during matches and ramming his knees into the steps. And he’s wrestled people smaller than him his fair share of times. Remember Summerslam 2005, Summerslam 1998, , Royal Rumble 96 and Summerslam 97? True, they were only four matches out of the billions of matches he’s had. But in those four matches, Orton, Austin and Bret dissected, took apart that leg to the point of where he could barely stand, let alone walk. He was clearly limping and in pain. Between those four bouts (among probably others) and years of Tombstone use probably are why he’s got leg problems. I believe it’s the knees, mostly though. Just my speculation on it.
Looks can be deceiving. And there’s more to it than just appearances/how he looks. I think the reasons he’s only a once a year match type guy is:
1. Injuries
2. WWE wanting to use him as a Special Attraction – something they started in 2004 as his appearances were rare till later in the year
3. His request for time off for family
Maybe I’m wrong on some, if not all of those. But that’s just purely my speculation.
HHH is part time, maybe because of family, but largely because his main focus now is behind the scenes. He’s been credited for the slow revival of the Tag division and the way things currently are in terms of their developmental school and what they look for when scouting talent. He’s being groomed to eventually take over when Vince leaves. That’s why he’s a part time wrestler now.
HBK in 2009 wasn’t there the entire year either. After WM25, he wasn’t see again till the build for Summerslam and I think that match with HHH against Legacy was his first match since WM. I believe this was also largely because of wanting to be with family.Of course, he remained on WWE’s schedule from then on till his final match at WM26.
Sting also doesn’t work with TNA throughout the entire year. His reasons for this are widely well known. His family and work at Christian churches are the reasons. Usually how his time with TNA works is he returns in the beginning of the month, then is written off tv for a few weeks till he returns and at the end of the year, he’s written off and Dixie gives him what he wants in order for him to sign for another year. But each year, he’s taking it year by year with each contract rather than sign a multi-year contract. Smart if you ask me.
HHH stated that out of the ring, Brock’s a pretty simple guy who stays on his farm when not on the road. I believe Brock signed a contract for just a certain amount of dates so that he wouldn’t have to travel so much and could spend most of his time at his farm doing whatever he does when not on the road. JR says he does farm work, but is pretty recluse and low key, keeping himself out of the public eye when not travelling with WWE. I believe this or something similiar could be a contract Sting could agree to given the right circumstances.

he did all of that thats why he CAN DEFEAT BROCK LESNAR OR ANYBODY ELSE. beleive it Undertaker guys.
