The Deadman
Welcome to PhenomForever.com, the #1 Wrestling fansite on the net dedicated to the one and only Undertaker! The Undertaker made his debut with the WWE in 1990 as the mystery partner for Ted DiBiase at the annual Pay Per View, Survivor Series. Fans around the world were immediately captivated by this strange looking man in a tenchcoat and so his legacy began. Two decades later The Undertaker is the most feared and respected wrestler not just in the WWE, but in the entire wrestling community. From the Lord of Darkness to the American Badass roaring in on his motorcycle, he's entertained crowds around the world. Now as his Deadman persona he continues to dominate on Smackdown. There is truly only one Phenom!

- We’re getting several emails from people wondering if I think that Undertaker should retire. Short answer, hell no. If any one in the business should be able to dictate when they hang it up or not it’s the Undertaker. Plus, and more importantly, he will know when it’s time as ‘Taker is not the kind of wrestler who will stay long after it’s time to go as we have seen many others do. The Deadman will never get to the point to where he never leaves his feet and people merely run into his fist. Ugh.
Nonetheless when the Undertaker does decide when it is time to say adiós that farewell will obviously be at a Wrestlemania and if promoted strategically should deliver huge numbers. Personally, I hope that we aren’t getting too close to that milestone date.
On HBK and Undertaker: Two of my goals in wrestling are to broadcast HBK and the Undertaker’s last bouts which I get the feeling will not be any time soon. There is no reason for either man to contemplate retirement while the money is huge, they can adequately manage their travel schedules and most importantly that they still love what they do. Obviously, their health overrides every thing but both men seem to be holding up well and can do more with less than the vast majority of their peers. As a matter of fact, most wrestlers try to get too much in their bouts which causes a disconnect with many fans because of the break neck pace where maneuvers and situations mean less and less.
“What “Breaking Point” bout will be the show stealer? Beats me as I write this. The Price is Raw concept was clever but did it overshadow the selling of what is likely to be one of the more unique PPV’s of ‘09? Has any got any info on whether the Undertaker has ever submitted in his WWE tenure? I can’t recall it. The Anaconda Vice vs the Devil’s Gate seems to be the story in the ‘Taker-Punk title tilt. Yes, I’m familiar with the “Vice.” “
Quick, someone tell him the answer is ‘No’. At least not officially. Will Sunday see an end to Takers ‘other’ streak? Or will we see a brand new Champion?
Of course, the surprise return of The Undertaker was HUGE and seemed to add the exclamation point to what seemed to me to be a surprisingly strong Summerslam that my lovely wife thought rivaled Wrestlemania. Nothing at Summerslam could have topped the Undertaker-HBK match for me based on my long history with both me but from a female viewers standpoint I can easily see where the Mrs is coming from.
We get a ton of emails regarding when the Undertaker will be returning to WWE. I don’t know anything official but my money would be on some time in September. I could theoretically see Shawn Michaels return in late August, perhaps even at Summerslam, and then HBK’s WM25 opponent returning a month later. We’ll see soon enough but these are simply assumptions and we all know what happens when on assumes.

Originally JR had speculated that the Undertaker would be returning before Michaels, this now doesn’t seem to be the case. Either Shawn’s coming back early because of Raw losing to Batista, or ‘Taker’s healing/resting up time has been extended. I suppose there is also a third option and JR really isn’t sure.
JR Comments On ‘Taker’s Return & Distant Retirement
…”I do think that Taker will compete longer than HBK but I don’t think either are ready to say adiós as of yet. When either retires it will be handled with class and with huge fanfare and it isn’t on the drawing board as we speak. I fully expect both Taker and Shawn to be back touring no later than the WWE’s Fall International Tour but likely much earlier than that.”
When Undertaker will return: Communicated with The Undertaker recently who is anxious to return to the ring sooner than later. I don’t have a return date but there is no doubt in my mind that the future Hall of Famer will be back in a WWE ring by summer’s end or early autumn. “They” don’t make ‘em like the “Demon of Death Valley” any more folks and for those that continue to send us questions regarding a ‘Taker retirement be advised that they are still be deleted because there’s nothing to that rumor.
There are NO plans for EITHER the Undertaker or Shawn Michaels to retire any time soon. Stop the pain and please stop the emails about this matter. When either man does decide to say adiós there will be a HUGE deal made of it. Both men will be back in action in 2009 and no I don’t have the exact date and likely no one does as we speak.
I hope it wasn’t any of you folks emailing and bothering JR. We all knew ‘Taker wasn’t retiring and would be returning as soon as he’s recovered from what seems to be knee surgery. Rumours, and I emphasise the word rumours, are suggesting a SummerSlam return.
“I think the HBK vs. Undertaker Wrestlemania 25 match could be made into one helluva documentary styled DVD. I know some of the biggest stars in the biz who would love to talk about it including some of the HOF’ers who were present that day. This match will live forever in the annals of WWE and should be celebrated sooner than later even though both men are on hiatus for the time being.”
For those who were still not convinced by PhenomForever’s report yesterday about the “Rest In Peace” tour not being the Undertaker’s retirement tour, read what JR has to say.
From JRsBarBQ.com
The upcoming Fall tours by WWE in Europe entitled “The Rest in Peace Tour” and “The DX Reunion Tour” are NOT retirement tours. When any major star such as HBK or the Undertaker finally decides to hang ‘em up don’t you think that WWE will make a HUGE deal out of it just as they should? This announcement won’t come courtesy of a ring announcer as part of his obligatory announcements at a live event somewhere on the road.
